Rick is like a godsend for our little family. We have a very high-strung Chihuahua (is there any other kind?) who had successfully alienated himself from every dog in the neighborhood. He would flip-out when he saw them, snarling, growing, writing checks his little booty couldn't cash.
And it really made me sad for him. I knew we had failed him, but we were beyond the point where a book or some episodes of The Dog Whisperer were going to help. We needed a PROFESSIONAL intervention.
Then I found Rick. He has been so incredibly accommodating and Buster is like a new dog. He's happy to see other dogs on his walks now and no longer growls and snaps. My husband was very skeptical that playgroup would help but now even he is singing Rick's praises!
Rick successfully got Buster integrated into a great pack of dogs and Buster looks forward to playgroup all week. If I say Rick's name, Buster does the happy dance.
Rick is the best. Don't go anywhere else. He's mellow and cool and just has a way with naughty dogs.
I recently moved to San Francisco from Chicago. We have two little dogs - both 1 year old. We call them the "Mean Girls" because they have never been socialized with other dogs. When we moved here they were rejected from doggie day care because they would act crazy around other dogs.
Then we found Rick. I found him rated highly right here on http://yelp.com. It was the best thing that has ever happened to my "Mean Girls."
Rick is more than a dog walker. He has helped train our girls and had so much patience. He has socialized these seriously misbehaved pups to be sweet relaxed well behaved girls at the dog park.
Rick has been able to watch them on long weekends - on several occasions - which has really helped us out.
They are apart of a pack in San Francisco, they go on dog walks with a group and come home really relaxed because that got their exercise.
I highly recommend Rick for walking and being an amazing care taker for your pet!

I've known Rick for almost 10 years now and he's been taking Badu out on her weekly walkies since he started DOGSF. He is patient and super caring about his canine clients. He's also super reliable, trustworthy and responsible. I'm a super picky dog-mom, and he's the only person I trust to leave my lovely four-legged creature with. I highly recommend him. We're lucky to have him as our dog walker.
UPDATE: So I'm going on 12+ years in knowing Rick. He's been walking Badu 3x a week every week straight for almost 2 years now. I just read the two "one star" reviews. For the last year, I've been working from home and I'm at the house when Rick picks up our little pooch. I know all the other doggies in Badu's posse (yeah, I'm a good mom and walk her to the "school bus." I want to see who she's playing with). It's the same nutty bunch of doggies, a small and manageable crew. I thought it was important to note this. I think very highly of Rick and I'm saddened that someone is taking a advantage of Yelp in order to air their competitive-dog-walking-issues. They couldn't be more off base.
I have been dog walking for near 7 years now and I know many of the dog walkers and know many dog walkers that shouldnt. RIk is one that should walk and keep walking. He is Great,,,,,,,=)
Rik is very responsible, caring, and loving to his group. He has a great group of dogs and they are well behaved and very well mannered.
I Trust Rik so much I have referred clients to him and would do it again if the dog wasnt in my area,,,

Rick was recommended to us by a fellow dog-owner in our building and we couldn't be happier. During the 2-3 hours he takes our dog for playtime every day, Rick has taken the time to help train our dog to keep from jumping up on people - and he has gotten noticeably better. He knows our dog well, and when we talk to him Rick will tell us about our dog's doggy-buddies and how he is at the park. In addition, Rick's prices appear to be some of the most reasonable - the other dog walkers advertising in our building will only do a pee-break for the same price Rick charges for a full hour at the dogpark. We've recommended him already in the past and would absolutely recommend him again!
Rick is awesome! He was our dog walker when we lived in Mission Bay and we moved. We were a little bit out of the way for him but he accomodated us. We will always be greatful. He treats our dog with the utmost respect and our doggy loves him!
My wife and I have been using Rick's services for several years now and there is no one else that we trust as completely with our dog. Whether it's for dog walking or dogsitting on a weekend he's been as reliable and responsible as they come. Plus he loves dogs and he's just really great with them. I wouldn't hand my dog over to just anyone, but I feel great knowing she's with Rick.
Rick is one of the few dog walkers I would let walk my dog or who I would refer my friends to. He has a long standing relationship with all his clients and knows each one of the dogs he walks very well.
