I don't have a dog because they smell funny. If I did however I would probably take it here. I really just think it's funny to review a beach so thats why I did it.
Honestly, this place is great. Sometimes there are two people there and their dogs, sometimes there are twenty. It is small, but everyone is friendly and picks up after themselves. Dogs play together and get to play in the water. I lowered it one star because it is next to boats, so you need to make sure your dog does not go out in the water too far. It is so fun in the summer!
While you will find many, many dogs and their owners on the sand at this little beach spot, it is not a city sanctioned dog beach. It is also not very clean. The beach is very small (so dog concentration is high) and the water looks to be heavy polluted from the frequently passing boats (after all, it is a harbor). If you're looking for a place to get your dog wet, head up north to Montrose.
