Gentle Reader & fellow Yelper, makes you wonder when an eatery receives reviews ranging from a pathetic 1 star to a Woo Hoo of a 5, doesn't it?

Yet I'm going to go out on this limb & proclaim myself an "emerging expert" on Winslow dining. We've spent a lot of time here over the last 5 years since we started mooring our boat here, & I have to give Doc's their "propers".  They are in my Top 3 in Winslow. Their breakfasts are ample, tasty & I really love their selection of 6 Benedict's!

For lunch I am always torn between 3 choices: their fish-n-chips, their chowder or their crab mac-n-cheese. Whether you find yourself in Winslow for another reason, or deliberately decide to jump on the Ferry & spend a day there, it's worth the journey for some of the best chowder or mac-n-cheese around. (you won't need your car for just a day trip, there is plenty to enjoy on foot, so save yourself $30-ish.)

We've found the service to be great, & here's a tip - - you get what you give :-) we are pleasant to the staff & they repay us with the same friendliness.

& per another review, consider yourself warned about those tasty Bloody Mary's, they do come with a "meal" of fresh prawn, bean, & an olive.

Three stars? What!

Doc's offers a great outside deck, good view of the marina/bay and good service. However, for the quality and the type of food, prices are much too expensive.

I've read the other places in the area (Cafe Nola and some brew pup) have better food. I'd have to say after visiting Doc's, I'd have to give the other places a try.

After reading these reviews, I had to check this place out.  Nothing amazing to note, sorry.  Check out all the folks posting 5 star reviews - and how long they've been on Yelp.  Seems like someone is telling people to join Yelp only to give this spot 5 stars.

Hmmm....if it smells like poop and looks like poop...you figure it out.

We've been going to Doc's since they opened several years ago. We really like the place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Service is always excellent. The menu is getting a little old but the food is always prepared very well. Drinks are great. The right ballgame is always on the tv when we're not sitting on the deck. We go by boat several times a summer and have never been disappointed.

we had a very nice late lunch here on a lazy Sunday afternoon.  Drinks from the bar were very good, my vodka martini was perfect, no small feat.  We shared a huge bowl of steamed clams and mussels for starters, both were very fresh and cooked perfectly.  We pigged out.  We had the prawns as a main course, which were delicate, not at all greasy and flavorful.  Wait staff was helpful, friendly and attentive.  Our only complaint was that the noise from the bar area, specifically a football game on TV at full volume, was a bit much. In spite of that, we enjoyed our meal, enjoyed the view and will return.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Delicious french fries and excellent halibut in the fish and chips. Service was prompt and friendly. Lovely deck and view.
Minus a star for all the flies in the lobby and the overflowing garbage can outside.

The Bloody Mary here, complete with a shrimp, picked asparagus, and pickled green bean is the perfect Sunday morning island refreshment.

Perfect.

I'm writing this review 8 months after having ate here - it has left that big of an impression on me.

A friend and I wandered upon this place while touring the island. They were out of the special, something with lobster, but the waiter suggested I try the crab egg benedict. I have never tasted a more buttery, melt in your mouth, gooey breakfast meal in my young life. The hollandaise sauce was perfectly spiced and just the right consistency. The crab pulled apart in your mouth and the biscuits were buttery and moist.

Oh, and the view is amazing.

Ate here twice for lunch while visiting recently. Maybe only 3 stars if more competition, but given it's on an island, it is what it is.

You are paying for the view. Beautiful harbor right out side the windows (or on the patio on warmer days). Had the blue cheese burger with bacon day 1 (thick bacon!). With fries. Can't complain, except for the weight gain. Oh, and tried the clam chowder. Nothing to rave about, but not bad.

Day 2 tried the lunch special, which was crab and shrimp and cheese on an open-faced foccacia roll with potato salad. Quite good.

Daughter vouched for the mac and cheese on day 1 and the hot dog on day 2.

If you are a tourist, you are going for the view and the food is fine, even if somewhat pricey. Service ranged from great on day 1 to hurried and non-caring on the 2nd visit. So hit or miss.

On July 6th I posted a restaurant review on this website and on July 13th I was threatened with a lawsuit by an attorney representing Doc's Marina Grill for two unverified statements that I made;   in a full disclosure, I did not verify the origin of the salmon in my salmon focaccia sandwich and, since I did not enter the restaurant's kitchen , I really don't know exactly where the chicken for the chicken picatta came from.

In order to peacefully resolve this matter I am following the course of action the attorney has requested in the letter:
1.) I will retract my posting - Below is my written retraction
2.) I will remove the posting - the posting being replaced by the retraction
3.) I will not make libelous statements about Doc's Marina Grill

Retraction of my July 6th posting pertaining to Doc's marina Grill:
I had no malicious intentions when writing this review.  In fact I feel the statements in question are inmaterial to the substance of the review.  Nonetheless, in retrospect I really should have said " To me, the salmon tasted like farmed salmon because it was almost flavorless and it looked like farmed salmon because it was light pink and crumbly.  Perhaps it was indeed wild salmon that just spent too long in the freezer..." and I should also have said pertaining to the chicken that "My experience with picatta has been with pounded chicken- this chicken seemed to me like frozen tenders because it was the size, shape and texture of large, rubber erasers."
It most certainly was not my intention, in the words of the attorney representing Doc's Marina and Grill, for the "... malicious publication of these blatant misrepresentations constitutes libel pursuant to RCW 9.58 and as defined by civil case law."  On the contrary, my intent was merely to share the disappointment and embarrassment that I felt after inviting two first-time Bainbridge Island visitors to what I thought would be a reasonable dining experience in a beautiful setting.
In the spirit of full disclosure:
I am acquainted with the owners of this establishment.  At the time of the incident I attempted to resolve the issues on-site with one of the owners but was met with a disassociated attitude.  I am a native Bainbridge islander who has patronized this restaurant in its many incarnations for over 20 years.
In my opinion, the current staff's dismissive attitude on June 26th, 2009 to me and my party and the threat of legal action from the owners on July 13th, 2009 was completely uncalled for.

This was a nice place on the waterfront marina in "downtown" Winslow.  The view was nice with the sailboats in the marina there.  The food was pretty good.  We had burgers, fish & chips, and supposedly the "boss' favorite" the Prime Rib & Cheddar sandwhich.  I've only been to Winslow a couple of times.  Not sure what other dining opportunities are there in such a small town but this was a good choice when you factor in the view.  They also have a large covered deck for eating outside.  That's probably a really nice option on a sunny day or warm evening.

i just love the location. right on the waterfront. there is lots of outdoor seating where you get a view of the boats and calm waters. i just love eating at a waterfront restaurant and it being quiet. i mean, i want to eat by the calm waters and to be in bainbridge to get away from the noise and crowdiness of the city. so i love that i came here to have a peaceful meal.

fish and chips were good. service was great.

I have lived on Bainbridge Island for a year and I was apprehensive about trying Doc's as a result of several reviews that I had read on Yelp, but I have become a regular and I have found the food and the service always  excellent.  The setting along the marina is nice and relaxing.  I also appreciate the choice of either inside or outside seating.

The hummus appetizer is outstanding.  The club chicken sandwich is my favorite and the roll that they serve it on always tastes fresh, warm and delicious.  The burgers are good, as is the roast beef sandwich.

We ended up here since Harbor House was absolutely packed on a Saturday night. We originally were thinking of going to a nicer restaurant, but beer and pub food called so we stepped in here.

The staff and waitress were very friendly, and the place had the feel of a little place I've been to in Connecticut. The menu offered a great selection of pub comfort foods like burgers and fish and chips, but on the other hand the wine list was good and they had some finer dishes available. We started with the steamed clams and garlic bread which were great. My husband got halibut fish and chips and I got a bacon cheeseburger. When the waitress put the plate down the bacon smelled like Sunday morning on top of a Friday night burger. The fries were delicious (I usually don't eat fries) and overall it was a great experience.  We both got two beers, an appetizer and two dishes for a little over $60--not bad!

Good view, horrible service.

I went with a friend visiting from out of town, and quite frankly I was embarrased by the end of the meal.

The best way to sum this experience would be a lot of waiting...waiting at the bar for a table....waiting for the waitress to stop flirting to take our order....waiting for the drinks....waiting for my salad which never came....waiting for our food...waiting for the check....and then running to catch the ferry back. To top it all off, they brought me the wrong salmon entree and then gave me some nasty sauce saying "it was the same thing."

Ick.

I knew MMAD wouldn't steer me wrong when we needed a quick place for breakfast before a memorial service. We had 30 minutes to order and eat which worked out perfectly.

We both ordered the two eggs with toast and a meat (I had bacon - awesome - Chris had apple sausage), and it came quickly and was delicious. Server dropped off the check with our food because I had told her we were in a hurry (in a nice way, not in an obnoxious off-island kind of way).

We just sat in the bar because it was easiest but next time I would definitely shoot for a water view.

Congratulations Docs!  You have done the impossible and turned your restaurant around and totally redeemed yourself.  Several years ago this place would have been lucky to get one star.  However they changed the menu, increased the quality of the food and worked on the atmosphere.  I actually enjoy eating at Doc's now and would recommend it to others.

Be sure to sit near the plate glass windows so you can enjoy a beautiful view of Eagle Harbor while you eat and sip your drinks.

I guess the bar is pretty good....the food is marginal...and the service has gotten better.   I am not sure what it is about this place, but I just don't go often.  Everytime I do go...I find myself smelling of grease when I leave.  I remove my clothes at my door as to not track it in the house.
The Bartenders are cool.  Two guys from Winslow Way...they are good.  Definitely has the most interesting crown in town.

On a visit to Seattle, taking a ferry ride to Bainbridge is a great adventure after seeing the city sites.  The ferry is a relatively low cost ride across the Sound with great views of the city, the water and the surrounding mountains.

Winslow, the small town at the ferry terminal has a number of interesting shops and restaurant but Doc's seems to be a single choice for eating with a view of the water.   It's about a 15 minute walk through town from the ferry terminal, so a great place to stop and then turn back to catch the next ferry.

It's clean and spacious.   The staff is very friendly - and welcoming to kids.  It has great clam chowder - a unique enough recipe that is worth seeking out even in a region full of cream clam chowders.   They use a good dose of aromatic herbs in a fairly light cream base.  Carrots, possibly some yellow peppers and diced, unskinned potatoes add to its singularity.  I thought it could use a little less salt, but nonetheless, this is standout clam chowder.

The menu is a bit expensive - most sandwiches are in the $11 - 13 range.  That stands to reason given its island location, but worth noting.

5-star hamburgers.  I freakin' dream of their burgers.  Made from Misty Isle Farms Angus beef from nearby Vashon Island.  All burgers are compared to this one and they all fall short.  I don't know why it's so good. . .it's the beef -  the beef is superior but, really, it's da' best burger!!!   They also have incredibly good prime rib at dinner (same ranch) and a kick ass prime rib/cheddar cheese sandwich - like a french dip on steroids - rocks!!!!!

They also have good clam chowder . .. chunky and clammy .. . however some purists might take umbrage at the fact that there is bacon in the soup, but I like it - it's not overly smoky - just right.

Sadly, the fried calamari is really poor.  Badly battered, over fried and beyond chintzy portion.  In fact, so bad that it would have made this review a three star but the burgers and prime rib just rock so hard that I can't help but give them four stars.  Food reason #2 that I'd move to the island.

"Cheeseburger in Paradise" should be the name of this place if they wouldn't get sued by Jimmy Buffet.

Today we all took visiting family members on a ferry ride to Bainbridge Island and as our ferry timing and late start on the day would have it, we arrived to the island hungry.

Relatives had been here one time before, so they thought, but it turned out they'd been to another establishment up the street on a prior trip.  We'd found this tidbit about 15 minutes into a 40 minute wait for a table (there were 8 of us there).  So at that point, we thought we were flying blind and only had the glazed happy expressions of diners exiting to bolster our confidence we'd made the proper choice for lunch.

As much as I hate waiting for a table, this place ultimately was worth it.  French fries that were not likely fresh, but they were nice finger-sized fries that weren't cooked too much or left to sit in the fry basket all-day soaking in canola.  The burger patty was peppered but not obnoxiously so.  The blue cheese bacon burger I selected has likely financed many cadiologists' BMW Z4's but who cares?  It was a lovely day, we were sat in indirect sunlight, slightly under a cover.  The view of the marina is fantastic.

Other details... the bathrooms were very clean and the staff was friendly and attentive despite being slammed with business.

I didn't hear any complaints from any of our party regarding the food or setting.  So it is safe to say if we're on the island again, we will be back.

Logistics notes: there is a kids' menu with good variety and they do have fresh fruit you can get too.  There is free parking in a 2-hour lot across the street from the restaurant.  A bit far of a walk for some from the ferry docks, but still doable for some, especially on a bike.  The ferry was $35 (a vehicle + driver and a passenger... kids under 6 are free) to Bainbridge and about $15 on the trip back.  The ferry runs about on the hour on Saturday.  The boat ride is about 35-40 minutes in length.

PS -- I'm guessing on the price range, as my dad, "Grandpa Bobo" to my kids, treated everyone.

My family and I went to Doc's for dinner tonight and had a great time. We were a little concerned after reading a few comments on here. However, Doc's was recomended to us by our concierge at our hotel.

She told us that we have to have the clam chowder, and to try a burger. She told us it was one of the best she ever had.

We were greated by a very friendly girl that made us feel welcome right away.

She walked us out to our table and said that your server, Juan will be right with you. I was instantly nervous as I had read a very poor review of Juan and his service just before we decided to go to Bainbridge Island.

Juan was very friendly and took exceptional care of us. Our food was great and the clam chowder was the best I had ever tried. In addition to the hamburger, we also tried the Prime Rib sandwhich, which Juan reccomended, we also had a salad, named after Juan, Juan's Buffalo Blue - all amazing! The food and service at Doc's was great!

There was a young man simply running all around, filling waters and pop for everyone. The day was warm, and he was kept pretty busy, We never wanted for anything, except for more room in our stomachs!

We had a great time and reccommend it to anyone that wants a taste of the Northwest. We are not from the area, and just recently moved to Seattle. The staff made us feel very comfortable and at ease, Juan not only suggested some great food, but also told us where to go to get great ice cream - Mora's - and he was right, it was great!

One could tell he was very proud of his island and of Docs! He couldn't have been nicer or more helpful.

Just makes you wonder - You get as good as you put out there. Or as my mom used to say - treat others as you wish to be treated.  I think some previous reviewers may want to think about that.

This time I ordered the steak sandwich - the promise is it will be tender -and it was    -    BUT    -     NOT worth $15.00!
Geez!      Just an eeeking of meat on there!!!!!!
Instead of their choice of side, I requested a caesar - tack on a $2.00 price tag to that $15.00 sandwich!    NOT worth it!
NOT what I had in mind.
The menu claims:  CARAMELIZED ONIONS AND PORTOBELLOS too -
but I had ONE ITTY-BITTY SLICE of mushroom and about 4 slices of sad, droopy, softened onions - and they WEREN'T CARAMELIZED.
Untruthful!
Doesn't anyone but me like CRISPY CHICKEN WINGS?
What's wrong with these guys?    They charge $10.00 for chicken wings?   What's this world coming to?
These were disappointing softened wings with some yellow buffalo sauce thrown on.   SAD?   YES!    I won't be back.  Lots of other places to try.   The view isn't all that it's boasted to be either - especially from the plastic chairs down on the lawn.

Man, I wish I could have liked this place.  Cheeseburgers from Vashon Island cows, eaten with a waterfront view of Eagle Harbor, one of my favorite places on earth.  Sadly, while the beef was plenty good, I found the overall presentation bland.  The burger was meaty, but had no kick.  The fries were lukewarm and a disappointment.  The bill was too high.  My dinner companion's clam chowder had the overwhelming taste of salt.

Maybe it was just a bad visit, but I was so disappointed in the mediocrity that I'd have difficulty convincing myself to pay for another chance.

--Updated 11/10/07--

Bainbridge is known for it's lackluster breakfast offerings.  We've had friends suggest Doc's for breakfast, but we never checked it out until today.  So good.  The menu isn't too long - a selection of omelets, scrambles, steak and eggs (grilled or country fried), french toast, waffles and biscuits and gravy.  I had biscuits and gravy while my slightly better half ordered a Denver omelet.  My biscuits and gravy was excellent - the biscuits were soft and tender, and the gravy was thick and spicy with tons of sausage crumbles.  Husband's omelet was huge and overflowing with cheese, peppers, onions, and ham.  His hashbrowns were crisp on the outside, and tender on the inside.  This is the best breakfast on Bainbridge hands down.  Plus, at Doc's you always get service with a smile.  5 stars for breakfast + 3 for lunch and dinner = an enthusiastic 4 star review.

--original review---

I like Doc's fine.  Not really a regular.  Not really sure why - probably just because we prefer the Pub (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) and if we're all the way down in that neck of the woods, we'll go there instead.

Doc's highlights: The deck is awesome - it's huge and there's a great view.  The atmosphere is fun.  The service is great - the waitstaff and management are very friendly.  Unlike the Pub, they accept ankle-biters, so it's a place you can take the whole family.

The menu trends toward the meaty, heavy, creamy, fried-y, large portioned side of things.  If you're a big eater, you'll like Doc's.  The steaks?  I've had better, but Doc's is close to my house, so it's ok in a pinch.  The steaks come with salad, potato and veggie, so it's a pretty good deal.  Think Outback but at Bainbridge prices.

3.5 really.  Dabob Bay fried oysters and chips really stand out in my mind as being above-average tourist food.  The oysters were sweet  and plump.  Drool.  Pity that I wasn't so sold on the Misty Isle Top Sirloin that they serve.  Their chowder was pronounced too salty by my husband- a first in my memory.  Still, the combination of price & over-all quality beats several of the East Coast places we used to day/weekend trip to as tourists.  Our server, Jim, was awesome as he let our Boston friend order a combination of oyster & fish & chips.  They only have oyster & chips and fish & chips, yet they kindly let her mix it up.  I hope that subsequent visits will let me up the star rating.  Their outdoor tables overlooking the Winslow Bay beckon.

Stopped here with my family after a ferry ride from Seattle (we walked on, but you can drive your car onto the ferry as well) while on vacation in late August.  Several locals recommended Doc's, so we figured it must be decent.  Seven of us sat just inside the big windows looking out on the big patio and the BEAUTIFUL view of the marina.  Friendly, attentive staff, comfortable atmosphere and delicious food!  Daughter loved the Alfredo, and everyone remarked on how tasty their food was.  We'll definitely return.

Holy Cow! Cows from Vashon Island must be ashamed that they end up here. I don't know what happens to them between between there and Doc's but it's not good. Think Hockey Puck between wonder bread. The setting outside of Doc's is phenomenal, but the inside is blah mixed with a little ewww. Not impressed. WAY overpriced when you compare what you paid for with what you were served. I say eat Vashon Island cows somewhere they are not put to shame...

cheeseboigie cheeseboigie. coke. no pepsi

Really great burgers, it's the beef - from obviously happy cows on Vashon Island. (thanks, moo). Upgrade to onion rings on the side; nice golden and not greasy. Fries are fine - but the rings are where it's at. Maybe a spinach salad to start if you're really hungry (it's big - split it).

Clam chowder is really good.

Beautiful view of Eagle Harbor - sit outside if it's nice.

Full bar, and they keep their Corona mucho frio, which is my bev of choice with a burger.

They rest of the menu is rather lackluster, but I really love this place because it is laid back and unpretentious, not easily found on Bainbridge these days.
Other good bets:
Salmon ceasar, chili, salmon dinner (get baked potato), sliced beef sammie, anything with beef - I'll say it again: the beef is from Vashon and it is really excellent. They have a nice wine list, and a full bar. Oh, I guess I already said that too. They *know* how to make a gimlet.
woo hoo!

Pretty servers, especailly in summer when they are scantily clad. Some prissy Bainbridge moms call this place "Bainbridge Hooters", but I think they're just jealous.

As we have established, I like eye candy with my meals, and it is fun watching the middle age men try to check out the waitresses without the wives noticing - really, so fun.
Also, it always fascinates me that the menz are eating burgers and steaks and beer while the wifeys are always eating salad and white wine.

Hey lady!
Eat some fat and ya won't have to have it injected into your face!!

Geez.
What silly ladies.

After being turned away at Cafe Nola, we wandered down the road in search of something less pretentious. Doc's hit the spot! The food wasn't spectacular -- basic pub/grill fare -- but the beer was cold and affordable, the service was super friendly, and the view from the back patio was gorgeous on a warm spring day. Totally inviting and fun environment!

This place was great -- tasty fish (grilled halibut sandwich & potato salad for me), and a great view. Service was fine (not amazing).

I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic dinner (pretty noisy), but after a couple of hours of wandering the island, it was perfect. There wasn't even a wait for my single seat outside. :-)

I will admit -- the bill came out to be a bit higher than I was expecting (pricey Mai Tai?), but it was still worth it.

I only give docs one star, because I have to give this place a star! I had really bad service a couple weeks ago here, but I choose to overlook it as I thought maybe just this one server has a bad attitude, not always good to judge a whole establishment based on one persons bad day. Keeping an open mind today my boss & I went in for an afternoon snack and soda and I was treated with the worst service I've ever had! I have waitressed for several years, and I know what good service is from giving it. Our food took an our to come out, we tried to see if our server Juan would own up to not putting the order in, instead he insisted it took that long because it was a busy lunch and thats how long it takes. The hostess brough out our food, soggy like it had been sitting for awhile. We mentioned to her when never received our appetizer salad that came with the meal, she said she would tell our server right away and they'd get it out to us. Our server Juan never came back. I could see him clearly from inside the restaurant observing our table, but never came to give us refils, ask us how the meal was, or bring us the salad. We then requested the hostess send over our server, he still didn't come. Then we had to flag down another server in a different section (which I hate doing, I feel it's rude and I know how it feels personally). We explained to her the wait, the salad that never came, that we needed refills, ect ect. Asked for the manager and about another fifteen minutes later our server shows up.

"Did you need to speak to the Manager?"

"Yes, we do"

Then Juan replies with "Yes" Like arrogant and pissed we would request the manager, but like that we were stupid we didn't know he was the manager.  We explained to him everything that was wrong and still didnt receive an apology or ask what he could do for us. We asked for the salad and he said he would have it brought out, that it should have been brought out already, and we asked him why he thought this service was anywhere acceptable, especially being an answer. No reply. No apology. We asked if the owner was there, he replied no but that there was another manager on duty for the evening shift. We waited like another ten minutes before we went into the restaurant (still no salad!!!!) to look for the other manager. She was nice, and I think she might have apologized, saying over and over what a nice guy Juan is- which I'm sorry, you can be a really nice person, and still give awful service, but that doesnt excuse the awful service. My boss asked that we pay, so we could leave, and that we pay for the food we ate (meaning not the salad). She handed over the check, didn't comp anything, and explained that the salad was included and since it's included in the meal it's free with the price of the meal. Again- I'm sorry- but this is another huge no no. You're a manager, someone waits over an hour for food, receives no drink refills, isn't checked up on, doesn't receive what they've ordered, and this isn't a reason to comp? I never fish for free things, as I know the kind of people that go places, complain to just get things free but there is a certain point when managers are there to make things right, make it right with the customer so they don't leave completely unsatisfied.

I can see Docs from the window of my office and it's sad I'll never return here. Because the island has such great tourist traffic bad service may not sink a place, but it makes it very unhappy with the locals.

Doc's is located on Bainbridge Island a short walk from the Bainbridge Ferry Terminal.  The two piece halibut with extra cole slaw vs fries was my choice on a recent sunny morning.   The halibut was 4 star in my book. There were several beers on tap and I chose a local favorite.  Lots of sail boats to view from the outside patio.  On my walkabout there were blackberries to be picked along the short waterfront trail plus many photo opportunities with a low tide of reflections of the sailboats and clouds.  The weather changed to drizzle so I cut the island walk short in order to return via ferry to Seattle.

Sitting on the patio...waterfront...watching the sailboats glide by...rest assured you're not at some posh yuppy yacht club...no your at Docs, a nice casual grill.  Just order the fried oysters and chips, one of my all time favorites, and you'll die happy.  Cheers!

My brother and his wife recently bought a house on Bainbridge which is a really charming town.  Eaten at Doc's a few times now and have come to realize a few things. The clam chowder is tasty but salty (3 times I've tried it and it was saltier each time). Stick to the breakfast and burger/sandwich options...decently priced and consistently tasty.  Definitely sit outside...great view of the harbor.

update:  gotta love doc's threatening the yelp reviewer Rebecca.  with those tactics, maybe they should open a doc's in russia.  you will love doc's, or else!  i hereby reduce to 1 star for "bullying yelpers".

I go a few times a year, and it's always the same:  service is fine, food is fine, somehow the bill always ends up higher than it all seems worth.  The atmosphere is just fine too, nothing inspirational, all in all Doc's is not nearly the charismatic funky or quirky or organic island bar that this town ought to have.  Tides Tavern in Gig Harbor is a little humbler and has a lot more love and a lot less plastic, Doc's could learn a lot from them.  I went on the search for just a hamburger the other day, and somehow got a wierd "sucker" menu that didn't have hamburgers on it.. what the &&#&* is up with that?  on the way out i saw the "other" menus.  i am at a loss, i would like to go somewhere else, but haven't found anything else in town for a quick informal meal at a medium pricepoint
