DLXSF is your favorite skaters favorite skate shop.
I happily push my way down to DLX every time I need a new setup, despite the fact that there are shops closer to me.
Deluxe feels like a skate shop should. There are always skate videos playing, skaters hanging around, and people utilizing the tool workbench to set up their decks. I have frequently seen the first time skaters and groms get hooked up with discounts.
The employees are extremely helpful and glad to assist. You know that every one of the employees caught the stoke of skating years ago, never lost it, and never will. You can feel their love of all things skateboarding. No bullshit. You push mongo? You got a longboard? You need us to grip a board? No problem. Let's rip.
The shop boards are all those distributed by Deluxe Distribution, which means they are San Francisco companies. Buy local and your money stays in the city. All boards, a cool forty bucks.
DLX has a wide array of shoes as well.
I support DLX and will continue to support DLX.
DLX is skateboarding.
I've never actually been to this place - I've only called and asked stuff over the phone. Yet just from the phone help I've gotten, I can tell this is a shop where I want to give my business.
I was looking for some shoes in the Nike SB line, and I happened to talk to Matt(?), who was a self-professed "avid wearer" of the exact shoes I was talking about. Avid he was, because he'd collected and gone through several pairs of the shoe's initial model, 15 to 20 of the second model, and was as we spoke breaking in a pair of the third - as in he took his shoe off and looked at it to tell me its nuances compared to the older version I was looking for.
When it turned out they no longer had the kind I sought, he unhesitatingly suggested other local shops to check. The discussion we had is what I call employees not only being familiar with their products but also genuinely wanting to help people find what they're looking for, rather than just trying to hustle up a sale.
So why three stars? Again, and to be fair, I have yet to shop in the store. However, I'm so confident that my opinion will level up when I do manage to check them out in person.
This places merchandise is really awesome. I love the boards and Clothes. I rate the Store a 4 and rate (would rate) the Employees a 3.
DLXSF is the best skateshop in SF, hands down. Come here to get all that REAL sf branded stuff. The customer service is top notch and have a lot of knowledge with what they carry. Dont be scared if your a noob or just looking around they are very chill and welcoming. They have some tools to use if your looking to tighten up some bolts or get a new setup they will do it for you. The skateboard wall is cool because you can see all the boards they carry, but i think they have some more in stock. They also have a shoe wall that has a lot of cool skate shoes to choose from. Best part is the flat screen TV that plays skateboard vids all day. Sometimes i go in and get caught up with watching tv haha. If your looking for skate spots just ask them they will lead you to the right way. When you go check out the sale shoes! they have some good deals for half off.
DLX is solid. They even got a table to setup, adjust your deck. Awesome selection of boards. Last time I went in there I got a second board (spitfire) even though I don't need one. The dudes that work there are super cool. No pretentious crap and lots of old timers come here too.
Still the best place in town to get all your skateboarding stuff. Shoes, decks, wheels, trucks, hardware. All in one place, at great straight-from-the-warehouse prices.
Staff are friendly and helpful, and I got a good deal on some new Adidas Mark Gonzales skate shoes and some Anti-Hero socks :)

As a loyal DLX customer for many years, I can safely say that this is the only place you need to go… Read more »
Only being a long boarder for some time I came here due to my desire to get my own standard board.
Super helpful people through the whole process as they help me put my board together.
Lots of dudes hanging out watching skating videos, cruising in and out.
Thought they had a solid selection of gear and some pretty cool shoes.
The one thing I wish I would have gotten was the 6 pack beer holster/fanny pack set up. Might have to head back over there to get myself one of those for summer fun.
Awesome place.
Love all the Krooked board. Good lord I was so tempted to buy another one. Staff was great and helped me out with my wheel size/duro issue. They seemed very helpful and knowledgeable, and nice. I was greeted with a "What's up", and a "Later, have a good one" upon leaving. I've been there twice and both times were a good experience.
They had a good variety to choose from in terms of skate equipment and clothes/shoes. I wish I could've browsed more but I was on my lunch break and had to get back, booooooooo.
Will come back for sure.
dude, its fuckin DLXSF man!
if you live in the bay area and dont back the Deluxe Distribution 100%, then damn theres something completely wrong with you. i dunno man something about walking in DLXSF and seeing roughneck, lowcard, real, anti-hero, krooked, spitfire, just makes me want to just skate. 100% no cool guy vibe, no haterade like in that OTHER skateshop in the city.
DLX is no bullshit, no gimmicks or trends just skating, its as simple as that.
R.I.P. DLXSM. Long live Atlas!
I love this spot! A real skate shop. None of that "skate boutique" nonsense..
They mainly carry Anti-Hero, Krooked, Spitfire, Real, etc. since they are the official distributors of said products. But they also carry the products of any of their team riders as well, whether it be shoes, boards, trucks, wheels, apparel, etc.
The staff is way beyond courteous and helpful. I could have talked to one of the employees there for days about skating, but we were parked at a meter and our time was running out.
You have to come to DLX if you're in SF and you have even the slightest interest in skating.
Dear DLX,
You have already made me the coolest big sister this Christmas and I haven't even given my brothers their presents yet. But, I know they are that good. Clothes, DVDs, magazines, I bought it all and they will be stoked that I did. Your employees were super helpful and made shopping a breeze. I wish everyone on my Christmas list was into skateboarding.
Love,
Me
DLX has been a staple of the SF skate scene since day one. The Gonz still regularly cruises by here,so keep your eyes peeled.
The place has undergone some renovations over the years, but they really make the best of the space. The present configuration is really good, although the shoes on the top rack can be a little hard to get to.
Speaking of the goods ... this place is packed with just about all the best skate brands and styles out there. If it's hot, they have it. The best part is, even though this is a cool shop with cool sh!t in it, there's no pretentious attitude by the staff. They're all down to earth dudes, ready to help you along. Good times.
Best skateshop in the U.S., hands down.
I've been coming here since '97, longer than just about everyone working there now. While it's not as dirt cheap as it once was (prices have gone up quite a bit in the past 1-2 years), it is still the best shop in SF and, for my money, the country. The staff is unpretentious and non-judgmental and they love hooking a kid up with his first complete.
Everyone comes here from kids to people who just live in the hood. Everyone is welcome at DLX. It's definitely not as raw as it was once upon a time, but I suppose that is a sign of its success. When they first opened up, peeps in the hood thought they would never last (and boy were they wrong). It's a testament to the fact that the people running DLX got it right.
If your looking for your first board, or want a new one, or some sweet threads, check out DLX when you're in town.
A store started out by Fausto Vitello , Jim Thiebaud and Tommy Guerrero for skaters. You know it's gotta be good. The prices on the Real or Anti Hero decks are the cheapest in the city if you like that brand. Very clean, one of the few skateshops that actually has a carpet on the floor.
Not always high stock on shirts go, but great as far as parts and decks. If you need support the aformentioned Anti-Hero, Real, Thunder trucks, Spitfire and Independent, this is the source.
p.s. occasional mark downs on skate shirts.
Went in on a random friday night and had a cruiser setup put together. It had been a long time since I bought a complete and the gentlemen helping me out was super nice / helpful. This was basically a repeat of my last time at DLX a few years back. SOLID.
If you love the Spitfire guy as much as I do, this is the place to go for your clothing, hats, and sticker needs. There are a million Spitfire sweatshirts, backpacks and even an over-size sticker.
Cool skate shop, the staff is friendly and the stickers are reasonably priced - what's not to love? They also have a variety of shoes, boards and wheels.
Distinctly San Francisco. yes,the staff isn't always the most friendly, but that's the way skaters are these days it seems.
Not the best place to find old school gear, but then again it's hard to find anyways...the best shop in The City by far. Decent prices as well.Blows away SFO...can't believe I even mentioned them!
if it was DLXSM i'd have to no bro it because we all know go skate/all skate was the ill nah
BUT
DLXSF is pretty rad. whomever is their store artist deserves a raise ...they make shit like FIRE. I grew up as a skaterat, I will support those who are still shredding hard. GO DLX GO
It's just the spot
A visit to the shop is a must if your into skateboarding and know what's up. It's DLX man. You can't get much better then that. Help support a great company. Take my word it is a great company. Enjoy.
best skateshop in the bay area without a doubt.
killer prices on the DLX distro products. forget anywhere else in the city.
i have love for the east bay locals, but almost always just head up to Market.
Best skateboard shop in the city, Rasa Libre(RIP), Anti-Hero, REAL, Spitfire, Krooked...need I say more?
This isn't the only good skate shop in the city but it has a lock down on all around service and gear. I bought a skateboard here like 13 years ago when I first came to live in S.F. and I am proud to say I bought my 5th board from here a few months back. I was skating in the mid 80's when the bones brigade ruled SoCAL. I saw "The Search for Animal Chin" IN the theatre. As I got older, I slowed down fo' sho, but I never really stopped. These dudes werkin here know all bout us old timers. If yer even considering hittin up a deck again, then this is yer joint. I definitely miss the days of skating pools in abandoned back yards around L.A. but I still manage to bomb a few hills and skate a park or two.
Bad news first, staff a little too important and arrogant to help out with questions. Very anti-newb. That said, once you mention youre looking for a really big old school pool board, like the one you used to ride when they were still crapping their pants, they open up and get helpful. Really great prices on a big selection of apparel.
Just got my 12-year-old his first skateboard at DLX. Everyone in the place was incredibly friendly and helpful, and not at all snotty about my knowing less than nothing about skateboarding. They threw in stickers and a DVD (promotional I'm sure but still sweet) and the actually sincere-sounding claim that setting up a kid with his first board is the best. I have a feeling I'll be back and won't mind at all spending my son's grandmother's money there.
I gotta say I came in here a little bit embarrased. I hadn't been on a skateboard for 13 years or so. I got a free deck from my boss related to a project we did at work so I figured, why the hell not, get it set up as a proper board. The guys at DLX were very friendly and helped me out. They were very encouraging. I couldn't ask for much more.
DLX is awesome. great service, knowledgeable and helpful staff.. pros.
I don't skate...nor can I keep my balance ona board of any kind. But when we visited San Fran. My homie-G, Pat made it a priority to visit this place. I've been to a few shops around the way and this was by far the best. The kats working here were mad chill and they have a great selection of decks and kicks. I managed to pick up an ILL DLX shirt for my pal as well. Support DLX.
I went to DLX last Tuesday with my sister and a couple of friends. We thought that DLX would be close to Powell but we were wrong and ended up taking a Muni train. Once we got there we walked in suprised by how chill the workers were there. I strolled around the store and found some Nike Dunk Sb's that had been sold out everywhere. I tried them on and looked at the box and they were 125 and Matt hooked me up and sold then to me for 100 cause that was all that i had. if you are looking for a bargain and a store that wont try and hustle you DLX is the place =)
don't go........... anywhere else! the best in the bay. dlx for life!
I went to DLX to get a board for my godson. I don't much know much about skateboards, so I'm glad the guy behind the counter was willing to help. He gave my some advice and helped me pick out a deck, trucks and wheels. He put together the board in about 15 mintues and I was all set. It came out to about $120. I have no doubts that my godson will dig the board.
This is where I got my first skateboard way back in the day and these guys are seemingly still up there with FTC as the big skate shops of the city.
Yes DLX is the best skate shop in S.F. The employees are chill and usually provide customer service without the cool guy attitude. I wish I still had health insurance so I could get a new set up and hit the streets of S.F. like Gonz in the 90's. Oh well I stick to buying up all the DLX gear, Vans and SB's
this place is a goddamn institution -- and cool friendly staff?! rad!
