DO NOT BE SCARED AWAY BY THE WEBSITE!
Upon first glance at the home page for Jimmy O'Neil, the first thing I thought was "oohh, cheesy". But, being a bride on a budget, his prices are what made me hang on. I'm sooooo glad I did. For under $1K, we had Jimmy play the acoustic guitar while his daughter Erin played the flute, before and during our wedding ceremony. If you love the acoustic guitar (like I do) and really appreciate live music during a ceremony, they were phenomenal!
Jimmy, also set up his DJ set and played music inside the cocktail hour, as well as roamed around the outside porch (where most of the guests were enjoying the cocktail hour) and played his guitar and sang songs like Frank Sinatra and the Beatles and I even heard he took requests. THEN, he played the whole reception (5+hrs) and even got people up and dancing and doing group dances ALL with (in my opinion) NO cheesiness. He even let some of my friends bring in a CD from their car and play some songs off it for them. He had basically every song you could want, from Country to AC/DC and all the top 40 songs. He met with us before we even signed our contract and was very responsive to what we were hoping our reception to be like. He followed all of our directions and even made a few suggestions that people ended up loving. He's located in Worcester but travels all over MA, and even NH, CONN and RI.
The major components to a good wedding reception are, being surrounded by your loved ones, good food, and good music. We had all of that and more especially from Jimmy who went above and beyond the whole night.
