We hired DJ-Chicago for our wedding at the end of september and we couldn't have hoped for better. We actually contacted them less than 3 weeks before our wedding because our original DJ backed out less than a month before the wedding.
We met with Mark and Alec and Alec was the one who DJ'd our reception. They were very prompt in responding to our request (plea) for services and were very open to working with us even with such a short time frame. They met with us several times and were very thorough with learning what our needs, wants, and dislikes were regarding our reception music. Alec was extremely professional while working as the DJ and the MC for the night. Everything flowed extremely well and he took the time to ensure nothing was overlooked.
The dance floor was packed the whole night and our guests were raving about the music. Alec let the music do the talking for him. He was able to cater to guests of all ages and had a good mix of genres. I would highly recommend this company and Alec to anyone in need of DJ services. Extremely professional and easy to work with. If you are opposed to flashy outfits, props, and choreographed dancing, these are your guys. Very reasonably priced.
side note: Our day-of-coordinator who has worked weddings with many of the big DJ companies in Chicago actually told us, "These guys were better than who you were going to have. It probably turned out for the best that your first DJ backed out" :) She mentioned that they have better sound systems, awesome playlists, appropriate placement of speakers (not on the ground), and obviously more professional employees who don't back out on contracts. I don't have a single negative comment to make regarding DJ Chicago and will recommend them to anyone in need of DJ services.
My brother and his wife hired this DJ company in October of '09. A few close family members arrived early to the reception to help out, and the DJ was a huge jerk to all of us. He was snotty, rude, and condescending. Of course, when the bride and groom arrived he was very attentive to them--all smiles and nods. What a creep.
My husband and I hired DJ-Chicago for our wedding in August and they were awesome! We had a blast! Almost all of our wedding guests were on the dancefloor at some point in the night... the dancefloor was packed from the beginning of the night until the last song! So many of our guests have told us how great the music was and how our wedding was one of the most fun they've ever been to.
We hired the owner of DJ Chicago, Mark Rankin for our wedding last year.
what initially sold us on DJ Chicago is that unlike so many other wedding DJ's they are not cheesy/overly interactive AT ALL. And mark was easy and fun to work with through the wedding planning process.
our dance floor was packed the entire night.
I've heard many of the other DJ's from DJ Chicago at various bars and other weddings - and they are always really good.
I highly reccomend Mark and the other DJ's at DJ Chicago.
DJ Chicago is to be highly commended! We hired them for our wedding and were thoroughly impressed. They are extremely professional, very reasonably priced and provide a flawlessly executed product. We had so many compliments on our wedding music. I would encourage anyone who is looking for a DJ to consider hiring DJ Chicago.
We used DJ Chicago for our wedding in Nov '06. They were fabulous! We had 425 people at our wedding and the floor was packed all night! We have had nothing but compliments about them. They followed our "do not play" list to a tee! My dad wanted a band for my wedding, and even he had good things to say about them. They didn't bring any cheesy props, were dressed very appropriately and knew when to switch up the music!
