Distilled operates below me, while I'm working away at Kearny Street Workshop on the 3rd floor. And come into the office. Once in a blue moon, I drop off their mail for them when I see it. And things like that. I like the office of theirs and their box loads of clothing. I keep seeing. And the guy that works there is pretty cool. I remember he was wearing a Huf's shirt over the summer and was skate boarding and I was like hey I like you're shirt and from then on, i say hi. (:
The Distilled clothing line was bright, fun and SEXY! In a very San Francisco geek chic way of course.

NERRRRRDDDDDS!
Handmade right here in San Francisco in limited runs of 300, Distilled is working hard to bring their vision of "geek chic" to a store near you. Colors from their most recent collection are bright and punchy, and range from blazers to hoodies, polos, shorts, pants, ties and more. Their Street Shirt & matching tie combinations are hot and the soft leather buttons that pepper their hoodies, shorts, and jackets are a classy yet subtle touch. Their looks are complex, often containing multiple pieces and accessories, and include a variety of fabrics and patterns that reminds me of the kind of wear I would pass by while hanging out in Omotesando, the more grown-up yet still fashion-forward neighborhood bordering Harajuku in Tokyo
I had the privilege of wearing a couple of pieces from Distilled's collection for the Yelp Elite event at Apartment 24 and so know first-hand that the clothes, while fitted, feel soft, comfortable, and *durable*. I'm always afraid that designer wear, while crafted lovingly, is sometimes not suited for a very active lifestyle. Co-founders Matty Merrill and Sep Kamvar (whose nerd credentials include being a Math professor at Stanford!) however, have created a line that is built to last and is currently available locally at stores like Villains Vault, Nomads, Drift, and M.A.C.
While geek chic is clearly a niche look, Distilled has managed to create a collection that I think is sexy and accessible. Not only that, but I think a remake of "Revenge of the Nerds", clad in Distilled's Spring collection, would make for one of the illest art house films in a generation.
