Review Highlights
I've been to Dish for breakfast and lunch and used them to cater a business meeting. The food and service is consistently good. My favorite thing about Dish is they use local produce/products so you are always getting the freshest ingredients and you can tell by the quality of the food!
I would highly suggest going early for lunch as they fill up fast! Their daily specials are always yummy and I suggest becoming their friend on Facebook, they post their daily specials and you won't be able to resist!
I've been back several times since my first review and it's official. I love this place. I've ordered different things each time and stole from my dining partners plate too and so far everything has been delicious. I heard great things about their baked goods and they looked fabulous but I didn't get to try them (darn effort to eat healthy and lose weight. grrr) until recently.
Divine. I had a chocolate cupcake with cream cheese frosting and it was the perfect sweet treat. moist and flavorful. I also had a blondie to go, and that was delicious as well, but not baked that day it seems so it was ever so slightly dry but not so dry I didn't eat the entire large bar.

Craving great salads? This is the place. And the made from scratch cupcakes are amazing!
Had a chocolate cupcake and an Irish mocha for St. Patrick's Day. I know, I know... chocolate overload. But both were delicious!
Have had their champagne and merlot cupcakes on another occasion and again, they were scrumptious!! Very moist and full of flavor.
My review is based on the food only; we had a work meeting catered by Dish, and I was VERY disappointed.
I am giving them two stars instead of one because the food LOOKED amazing. It was beautiful. But my sandwich was downright inedible. It looked great: turkey & roast beef with cheddar cheese, and thin slices of apple on a beautiful cinnamon-apple bread. But the Dijon mustard that ruined the entire sandwich. I couldn't eat it. So I grabbed a helping of a gorgeous salad with a balsamic vinaigrette. The vinaigrette was so oily (and the oil tasted like it was turning rancid) that I could hardly eat that. Then we had what looked like amazing cupcakes for dessert, which tasted like they came out of a box.
I just wasn't that impressed with the quality. I felt like the food should taste so much better with how much effort they put into making the food look good.
(I must note here that a coworker did enjoy the Balsamic vinaigrette.)
I finally got around to trying this place again. I took Toddler to breakfast a few weeks ago and was better impressed this time around. I had a breakfast sandwich that was very satisfying--the bacon was perfect! They were nice enough to make Toddler a scrambled egg--something so simple, and yet a lot of places refuse to do it if it isn't on the menu. They even included a side of fruit. I still am not as enamored of the food here as many people are, but it is a really nice place run by really nice people. Pretty decent coffee, too.

I've heard about this place but never dropped by until today. I met both of the owners and they were cool. I don't get the chance to talk with the owners in most places.
The place was full with a line to the door when I got there, the wait wasn't too long though, maybe 10 minutes. I had the Reuben which I thought was excellent.
Next time I go I will check out the soup and desserts. They had a large amount of dessert which they said are all made on site.
Yummy place with a good atmosphere. Recently I went there and they switched their meats to organic humanly raised meats that are free of antibiotics, growth hormones, etc. I don't think I have seen this anywhere else. Their desserts are delicious too. I always get sucked into something sweet when I go there.
Excellent lunch spot (have never tried breakfast), atmosphere is super friendly, and the food is made with care from scratch. I've been to Dish several times with several different people, never once heard a complaint from any of them. The sandwiches are simple but tasty, the daily specials can't lose, and there is a good selection of mainstream and obscure natural sodas and beverages. Try the soup or the quiche of the day! Downside: Parking is difficult, as it shares a building/site with several medical offices. Also, it can get very busy at lunchtime.
I had the Shepherd's Pie last week, made with butternut squash, instead of sweet potatoes. Delicious. Lemon Cupcake, fantastic. Last Friday, my wife brought me some Peach pie from Dish; yummy. I can't wait to see what's next...

I have been trying to go here for a long time and think I will make it a more regular stop now for a bite. The desserts all looked and sounded divine but I had the Mediterranean plate with eggplant dip, hummus, pita, and veggies. I was full and satisfied after lunch. Nancy is so nice and I can't wait to try more on their menu! The atmosphere is cheery, despite its being overlooked by the giant Renown hospital, I'll be back soon.
Dish Cafe is a bright spot in the Reno dining scene. You're greeted by a sweet, friendly atmosphere and attentive service. The food is homey and fresh. Baked goods shine here, including cookies, cakes, and bars (yummy lemon bars)! But you'll also find delicious salads (I'm addicted to the spinach salad) and sandwiches. My favorite thing: the quiche. It's the best I've ever tasted. Don't miss this restaurant for breakfast and lunch. The business also offers amazing catering services and will do up your affair, whether it be fancy or casual.
I found Dish by lucky chance after getting some tests done in the medical building next to them. What good luck as they've become one of my most favorite places to eat in Reno - they serve breakfast in the morning and feature a tasty (and filling!) lunch menu. All items are made from scratch by people who take food (but not themselves) seriously. The one downside is that it's also base for a busy catering service, so they're not open for dinner or during the weekends.
This is about the only place I eat out for lunch. I tend to be a fan of their tuna fish sandwich and it's rare for me to leave without at least one treat. The food is just just simple, great comfort food with a twist. I've never had one thing there I haven't liked. The special of the day is always something slightly different and great. Today I had their version of a reuben and it was seriously the best reuben I've had on this side of the Mississippi (and I'd be up for taste testing it against Zingerman's!)
