doonk . . . .  . . . . doonk . . . . . doonk . . .doonk . . .doonk, doonk, doonk, ohhhh (light female voice), doonk, ohhhhhh (female again), doonk, doonk, doonk, aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh (male voice) . . .  silence . . . At which point I blurt out, "are you f*$%in serious?  6am on a Sunday morning?!?!?"  Apparently our neighbors' escapades had been going on for a while, but I had missed most of the show!  That totally sucked, since this was my first hearing-through-the-wall experience!  I was hoping my first time would last a little longer . . . my girlfriend tried to console me, and told me that it happens all the time, especially to heavy sleepers like myself . . . I'm still a little disappointed

Other than that (though some might see it as a bonus), the motel was quite clean, had free HBO and Wi-Fi, AND was only $49/night (weekend no-less) for two double beds!  A single queen-bed room was only $35/night!  There were three of us though . . . getting our scuba cert's down in Monterey, so we needed the extra bed.  The free continental breakfast consisted of Costco danishes, but hey, I wasn't even expecting that!  The inn is only about a 5 minute drive to Cannery row and the scuba pier, and also had parking spots in front of each room . . . 4 stars because it was just what I needed and cleaner than expected!

Just keep in mind that this IS a budget motel, so don't expect anything fancy.  I just needed a place to crash between dives!

crashed here for a night on a coastal weekend roadtrip. the place looked clean until I was pushed off the bed and found someone's nail cuttings on the floor -- gross!  other than that everything else appeared clean.  the bathroom bare bones but ***hairdryer*** YAY!

take your own shampoo and, well, soap because I wouldn't trust the dispenser provided in the bath.  also, it seems as though the bathroom walls are not coated properly with the correct paint because after one, uno, shower the place is a misty mess -- so in addition to the fan open the window...that is if you like your TP to be dry; otherwise leave the window closed and have damp TP to use for the rest of your stay.

Also, a flat sheet is used for the fitted sheet which is not comfortable if you toss and turn.
