My friends, it's a 5 star review.
It's a neighborhood bar with an extra zing. The bar is long, there are tables in the back, apparently free pool and an excellent digital jukebox. We were treated to an hour of sing along Stevie Wonder. Not my fave, but somehow, it worked. I could dance like soul train's #1s and no one batted an eye. Drinks are good. Bartender's genuine. And the patrons are having a good time. -

I'm a new fan because this is where Chicago Bears fans can go to root on the monsters of the midway! Big salutes to the owners who really made us feel welcome with offering great "corn moonshine" and the biggest kicker is they made home cooked food for the Bears game and it was delicious! That's just love and respect right there. It's a small place so go early if you're watching the bears game and you want a place to sit. If not mingle and meet some cool folks most likely with ties to good ole Chicago! Note: i've only been here to watch the Bears so Im only speaking in this regards.
Bears fight song lyrics:
Bear down, Chicago Bears! Make every play clear the way to victory!
Bear down, Chicago Bears! Put up a fight with a might so fearlessly!
We'll never forget the way you thrilled the nation with your T formation.
Bear down, Chicago Bears, and let them know why you're wearing the crown
You're the pride and joy of Illinois. Chicago Bears, bear down! -

I miss the days of the Dogs Bollix but Dirty Trix keeps the same spirit alive.
Tim works here and that makes it a good bar. They have darts and that makes it a great bar.
They need to change their sign/logo which does not invoke that type of (great) place this spot can be.
One of my favorite dives on Clement.Listed in: STRONG DRINK

This is where Chicago Bears fans can....BEAR DOWN when in San Fran. So happy we found this little gem of a bar while visiting during the first Bears game of the season.
Thankfully my husband got to the bar early, like 9:45AM because there were not any seats by kick off. It is a small and intimate bar and by that I mean, you will likely have a conversation with at least half the bar by the time the game or night is over. It felt like we were back in Chicago watching the game, so much fun! Let's get ROWDY!
Drinks: So there was a $16 all you can drink Mimosa special going on. PBR's were $2.50 so that was a good deal. Also, the owner sold me on the Shiney Mary which is a Bloody (she makes her own mix and it was DELISH!) but with Moonshine made from corn. Not gonna lie, I was hesitant to order Moonshine at 10AM but after the first sip, It was alll goooodddd.
Food: Not sure what they normally do, but on football Sunday they have a Trailer Trash Buffet and my husband thought it was tasty.
All in all, best bar we went to in San Fran! Thanks for the great time --everyone go get your Dirty Trix on!! -

I was at Dirty Trix last night for a comedy show, and I've never seen the place so full, I could barely get in to door. Once I was able to get in it all made sense, the show was HILARIOUS and FREE! It was the caliber of show I would expect to have to pay for at a comedy club, and apparently the comics are all local favorites around town, what a great find! The drinks are cheap and strong, the bartenders are awesome, and they have free comedy!!! I think they said the first and third saturday of every month they have a big show, I'd recommend that you check it out some time

There are not enough beautiful words in the English language to accurately describe Dirty Trix.
I'm not calling Trix beautiful. Trix is down to earth in the best possible way. The drinks are strong and cheap. The regulars are a friendly patchwork of rowdy neighborhood folks. And the service runs like butter, with the bartenders transitioning seamlessly between brusque and loving.
This place has the best bartenders and the most welcoming vibe that I've encountered in San Francisco. -

Pretty small, but quite on a week day. Take your friends and play some pool. The big table in the back is the best. The bartender is pretty awesome. If you get bored, than jump in and out of rockit room next door or bitterend across the street.

The one place where you can be "I think I just peed a little" rowdy and laughing in tears and no one bats an eyelash. If it's early it can be mild and mellow for sports viewing but once the juices get flowing their jukebox is let loose which is pretty good, and people let their hair down.
I've scored much delicious food here as well, no menu to speak of but they do randomly feed their patrons and oftentimes neighborhood folks will have celebrations in the back with an awesome spread that you can take part in.
Ask the bartendress with the cool green wolf eyes to make you a Bloody Mary. Most excellent. -

I love what this bar has transformed into once Lee and Kevin took over. Back in the day it used to be called Dogs Bollix - a pee smelling Irish dive bar that was way too divey even for me. To say the least, it once was a shit hole. Then it transformed into what is now known as Dirty Trix Saloon, which is now a cheap drinks kind of bar with super awesome bartenders. Pretty much go on any night and you'll have a great time.
It generally isn't too crowded, which makes this bar the perfect spot for sports watching (something I deal with due to my obsessed sports-fanatic boyfriend). They have 5 or so flat screen TV plus 1 huge projector screen behind the pool tables - all with DirecTV sports packages, which means all sports at any given time (this is sometimes my living hell too). Additionally, on Sundays they make really good food to give out to their patrons FOR FREE. And no, this is not your shitty hot dog that's only lukewarm - I'm talking about homemade meatball subs and other delicious foods. That sort of dedication from the staff makes me extremely happy.
However, if you're not into watching sports, you can of course come here to enjoy a drink after work or anytime in the day (after noon). You should also take note that if you work in the service industry they will give you your first drink on the house if you worked that day. Again, extremely nice people! They also have free pool every single day, which is pretty awesome if you're a pool player! Another awesome free thing from them is Wii bowling every Thursday night. My boyfriend's good friend is the host of this and it's actually a really fun time. If you get the highest score for the night you win a $25 bar tab.
All in all, this is a great bar that is extremely underrated - the drinks are cheap and strong, the bartenders are super friendly and personable, and in general, it's a really fun atmosphere. If you feel like you need a break from the typical bars in the Richmond then you should definitely check this spot out! -

When it gets too loud and/or rowdy at The Bitter End (and it does...) this is a great place to crash. The environment is low-key and everybody is pretty chill on any given night. They do get the overflow of douchebags from the Rockit Room on the weekends, but hey, Fridays and Saturdays are when the douchebags invade the Richmond, so deal with it.
Drinks are cheap, and the bartenders are very friendly. My friend and I joked about the popcorn machine in the corner. The bartender asked us if we wanted popcorn, we said yes, and she actually went to make some! It wasn't a busy night... she risked us not even eating the popcorn, and then of course she would have to clean it again, but she made it for us anyway! That was awesome. Of course we had like five trays of popcorn. Each. It was some damned good popcorn.
After reading some of the reviews on here, it sounds like they have some pretty awesome events/games/contests going on. We stumbled in on the end of some Comedy Wednesday thing one time.
One complaint: They were out of Guinness one time, and then the other time their Guinness tap was broken. But I can adjust... it was just a little disappointing. -

Dirty Trix is fun.
The bartenders are fun.
The owners are fun.
The regulars are fun.
The pool is fun.
The entire experience is fun.
It's not a pretty room It's charming, in a dark and deep sort of way, filled with some of the best, worst, and weirdest of the Richmond District.
And now that I think about, they probably have the BEST bartenders in SF. -

Friends were playing a set next door at The Rockit Room.
I could no longer bare the stench of urine nor their exploding beer taps and half-headed brews....so I bolted next door to Dirty Trix.
Needless to say, it was for the best. I love the vibe here. Day or night, it's very welcoming and attracts a diverse crowd.
I cannot wait for Football Season. We will be cheering on the Bears with Kevin and I am sure they will be willing to throw on a Falcon's game or two for me :-)
Sunday's in the Richmond are in my future, and as mentioned below; pooches are welcome!
GAME ON! -

I love you Dirty Trix.
Cheap drinks, friendliest bartenders, free popcorn, pool and three big screens where you can yell about the Giants game and nobody looks at you like you're crazy.
We were in last Friday night when some pretty crazy stuff happened and the bartender was awesome even as he was bleeding.
My favorite place on Clement. -
Review from Roy N.
This is really a great neighborhood bar. Fun place to shoot pool too. The pool table used to be free and then temporarily was at 50 cents, but is now back to free again. The cues are the worst I've ever seen, but hey, it's free!
Great bartenders and an interesting cast of patrons makes for some fun times. Recently, after dealing with work and my crazy dad situation, I was shooting pool and actually forgot my leather jacket which I left hanging on a hook next to the pool table. After losing countless leather jackets in bars over the years, I figured there was no way in hell that thing would still be there when I went back the next day, especially considering that it had been on a Thursday night.
Popped in around lunch time the next day, just to ask and almost fell over in shock when they told me that it was still there, right where I left it. Truly, truly amazing!
Nothing fancy, but this is truly the best bar in the area.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I've been coming here for awhile now, and it's always a good time. They have Magner's cider, and the bartenders (who are all friendly and knowledgable) have made me some really great mixed drinks. Clientele is welcoming.
Best time was Super Bowl Potluck Party. Lots of regulars came out and the food and atmostphere was wonderful.
Free pool anytime and free mini margarita shot at five o'clock Friday make Dirty Trix the place to go to celebrate the weekend's arrival! -

This place ended up being a pleasant surprise. Cheap drinks and the bartender was super friendly. Apparently they have free pool too.
It's divey but it lacks the plethora of assholes that can be found at many of the popular dive bars in the city. -

Had a FANTASTIC time here last night.
Damon the bar tender is a great guy. Drinks were cheap cheap cheap and the pool is free.
You know you have a special place when you have a FREE pool table and you don't get a bunch of douchebags ruling the table and not giving it up. We just asked if we could have the next game and the guys who had been on the table gave it up right away, even though it looked like they might play again.
Not so sure about the blue lights, though. All around, great bar with a silly nameListed in: The Places I Go Out

I didn't even know this place existed! Honestly, I found this place through a new facebook application called Bartab and supposedly it was close to my apartment, so I thought I would try it for a birthday night out.
I love dive bars! What makes it even better is that it's right next to Rockitroom and it wasn't crowded at all. The prices were also pretty great - only $6 for a large shot of kettle one vodka, $5 for a rum and coke...
Also - FREE POOL! The lounge area was cool as well, but we were mostly preoccupied by the pool table. Great place to kick back and relax with friends! -

I didnt mind the dogs bollix
in fact i had a soft spot for that place even if it was kind of dirty
well now its painted and clean but still like the same little bar I have loved since it was the other bar
the bartenders were very friendly (Royce was great so was the guy who came on after him)
they still have magners too which is a def. plus
Im dying of a hangover today and this place played a roll in causing that. -

When the Dirty Trix Saloon was the Dog's Bolix, I would go there maybe once a week or so (well, typically when either Alex, Annie, Joanna, or Kateri were working...luh dem girls!)
The new owners, Lee and Kevin, have transformed the place from a dive bar filled with pugnacious Irishmen into a neighborhood hangout that is far from pretentious. The formula is simple: cheap drinks, down to earth bartenders, a cool jukebox, and a diverse clientele. Dare I say it is gradually becoming my favorite place to kick it in the Inner Richmond.
In closing, I implore you to check it out and take advantage of their complementary "guru services": get some sound advice on what drink is best for you from Justin (I recommend his Michter's Sazerac by the by), a few words about how to improve your love life from Damon, recommendations for the hottest dance clubs in the city from Brittany, old school hip hop recommendations from Yoyo, and let Timmy and Josh get you tore back to the point where you can barely remember your name.Listed in: The Places I Go Out

Great White for me. Anchor Summer Brew for him. On-tap, of course. Really, that right there is enough for 5 stars.
Then--they let my doggy, Walter Chorizo, the dachshund, join us for beers!!! My beer, my boy, and my baby...LOVE IT!
Great and friendly service. Dog bowl by the door, though they gave me a glass so Walter could drink at our booth in the back. Great music on the jukebox. My only complaint is that, now that I've moved out of the Richmond, I've finally found what would have been my local watering hole. -

probably my favorite hang out chill zone. I get the iced water and mingle, as there's always people in there. I've heard the cocktails are decent, but mostly I like to go and people watch. Some cute females for inner richmond.

Review from Earl G.
Simple neighborhood bar. Really low key with alot of people just talking and hanging out. Not to much of a scene or a place to be completely left alone. As the night went on - it seemed like more and more people brought food over from the Chinese restaurant and just hung out here. This place totally reminds me of the coffee shop on the tv show "Friends".
Ordered up a couple of Great White's ($8).
Surpisingly not as a diverse crowd given the location, but it's all good.
Played some of that Dr Dre "Ain't Nothin but a G thang" on the jukebox so me and my boy Kris felt right at home.
Yeah, they do have free pool, but they only have one stick. Be nice and share.Listed in: Drinking Made Easy : Bay Area

when the owner of the bar takes the time to educate you on beer, like a dummy, i owe it to them when i share that knowledge with someone else. this yelp is to credit them for knowing their shit and helping this world get it straight between lager and i forget....
anyway, it's quaint but there's a TV for sports, a pool for a little challenge, and jukebox for your personal pick of musack. the beer selection goes from budwiser to small town breweries. the selection is a good size and some of the beers are rare. -

At 1:30 AM on a hot Friday night, the bartenders and bouncer suddenly began braying their demand that everyone immediately finish their drinks and leave .
Ridiculous.
The huge bouncer who looked like Jon Kruk's unsuccessful younger brother was particularly annoying in his incessant demand that we get out. Positively unkind and ridiculous.
How this place hopes to survive when a fine establishment like The Bitter End is across the street is beyond me.
Recommended? = Hell no. Go to Bitter End or Buckshot or anyplace else. -

Cheap good drinks. Friendly bartender and great service. He came by a few times to pick up the empty glasses and we were sitting at the very end of the room.

Bartender working on Friday night how dare you tell me, "That Wii is for Wii Wednesdays and today is not Wednesday." I even attempted a shameless display and talk of how good I am at Wii fit hoola hooping. Nope. you weren't having any of it. You know the least you can do is humor me.
Strange set up. Looked like a highschooler decorated the place. Has potential. Not quite there yet. Cockroaches were there though. One trotted across the bar in front of us - Lindsay W. flicked it into the 'tenders ice water behind the bar when he wasn't looking. Slam dunk. Hole in One. We were out. Teach you to play dirty. -

We arrived mid-afternoon for a beer and a glass of wine after wondering about the Richmond. Me- sitting left side of bar drinking Sutter Home out of a dusty airplane bottle. Loud, stupid man behind bar. Louder, stupider people on far right of bar, lonely gay man quietly sipping a martini in the middle.
Short stay. -

I strolled in on a Saturday afternoon around 4:00. The bar was almost empty, but Justin the friendly bartender kept me company and offered great neighborhood restaurant advice. My gin & tonic was pretty good; just strong enough to take the edge off first date jitters. Thankfully, this place isn't nearly as sleazy as the name suggests. At least not at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. I can't speak for what happens here after dark...

I had a fantastic time here playing pool and getting a drink (I was riding my motorcycle and he gave me a free juice- thanks!). The music was rock/alternative right out of my mid to late 90s teen melt down years. The place had a few customers at the bar and my friend and I at the pool table, no crowd, but then again it might have been early for drinking. Good fun times.

What a dump! Are you kidding me?!!! 4 stars????
Came here with some friends this past weekend, while we waited for a table at Burma Superstar. Chose it because it was one of the highest-rated places in the area on Yelp. Got there, and immediately thought "Man! Whoever could give this place 4 or 5 stars obviously has very different criteria for what they consider a nice place!". Honestly, you'd have to be a college student (with a criteria of the place being merely OPEN, and serving beer) to be able to rate this place highly. It is worse than a dive bar (which would at least have some modicum of charm, coolness or interest). Make no mistake: This was a DUMP. Immediately upon entering, we were hit in the face by the stench of fresh vomit (so appetizing). Decor is awful. We were seated at the large "booth" in the back, directly in sight (and downwind of) the bathroom, so we could get a huge whiff of urine & shit before our meal (Again: SO appetizing). Of course, if you're a college student, you don't know any better, and you'll probably think this place is great. I, for one, was aghast. SO bad. So, SO bad... OK, the bartender was a nice fella', and the drinks were reasonably priced, but I'm afraid that's not enough to save this place. If you're between the ages of 18-22, go for it. You'll probably love it. If you're over 30, look for something else. -
Review from Joshua W.
Came here Wednesday night with some friends after eating across the street at D & A. The place was empty, but I'm not really sure why. The bartender was great and really friendly, they have bar dice (and other games if that's not your thing), great open space, plenty of seating, and a decent jukebox. If I lived in this neighborhood I'd go as far as to possibly consider this to be my local.

Cool place for drinks. The bartender was really cool and funny. She offered to give me 2 small samples of beer and I already forgot what the names are. I noticed she also knew everyone at the bar-maybe her faithful patrons. There is only one pool table and a few booths. I didn't know you can play pool for free here!! I read it from Alan N.'s review awesome!! $12 for 3 beers? Isn't that a pretty good deal??!

I'm definitely a fan of Lee and Kevin's. Great people: Lee was one of my instructors at sf school of bartending and Kevin taught history with one of my buddies at a local high school. Sad to say I no longer live in SF, but I would love to visit this place again. Cheap, stiff drinks and I've heard the Allman brothers on the jukebox every time i've been. A good neighborhood place to chill with your friends.
