I love, love, love a place that is a restaurant, bar, and live music all in one!

I came here to watch a friend's band play (the High Tides!), and had a great time. Drinks were super cheap ($3 for a pint of PBR on tap)!

I tried the "broken hearts" appetizer, which are breaded and fried artichoke hearts. I ate them because I was hungry, but it honesty wasn't that good. There wasn't much flavor, and they were kind of expensive for what they were. Boo. Maybe next time I'll try their pizza.

I look forward to coming back to check out their scene during the day.

We come here to support a friend that plays here (local band).

    Drink prices are great!
Food is good but order before 10pm because kitchen will close.

    There is a cover fee - $5 - 10

I went to church here once. True story. I also forgot my credit card. Good thing they're close by.

Tucked away in a strip mall, this bar surprises you with its tiki and punk rock art decor, comfortable lounge, full bar, and decent size stage for live bands. The wood floor dance area is not that big, but the tables and chairs in the back will still be a good view. I've seen lots of local bands play here and the kids that attend are young, so I assume there are lots of all ages events. Wristbands for 21+.

Plenty of street parking, but be careful not to park at the Brazilian restaurant lot. Conveniently located right off the 22/605/405 freeway exit.

Yesterday was the second time I've came here, first time I went the service was TERRIBLE, we never got asked if we wanted a menu or wanted a drink....nothing. We sat there and supported the bad service because we were there supporting a friends band. So we let that bad night go and decided to show up again to support the same band again. When I arrived most tables were reserved, which didn't bother me because I knew that they were the band's family, and one of the guys there was amazingly nice and reserved a table for us......but the waiter didn't even go clean our table and we had to personally ask for menus while everyone else got them as soon as they sat down. The food was ok, not amazing, but reasonably tasting for the price. The bands which they have play there are great, I've seen a few (different genres) and I've enjoyed them all. Overall a good place to lounge around and listen to local bands, just wish their service was better.

Saints & Sinners were playing on a Sunday night, all ages night so I rolled with my Junebugs to peep some tunes.

The place is small but swank in a dive bar/dive pizza sort of way.

The pizza was yummy. Ordered the BBQ chicken pizza which hit the spot. My friend ordered what appeared to be a basket of fried pepperoni with dipping sauce which was very tasty. Tasted like bacon. Anything that tastes like bacon is first class delicious.

Now the beer is a different story. $7 for a ho-garden ? damn ! These ho's that make this beer in their funky ass garden better find a way to cut out some costs. These bitches need to plan the ingredients more carefully. The beer actually tasted good, like a Hef or Shocktop, shorter in the sleeve yet made by hookers, ho's and bitches I guess...

The service is slow because the bartender is also the waitress and the server and quite possibly the cook too. But oh well. Lots of broken chairs, broken tables, broken booths and most likely a few broken dreams...

The stage is decent sized and seating is perfect for the entertainment. The sound system is decent but there is nowhere to mosh or dance or run around and effect a ruckus. there is barely anywhere to stand. The Junes enjoyed the bands and grub and can't wait to return. I second that.

Cool spot to chow and catch some bands with the youngens, that is if your youngens are into music, or they might end up traumatized. My daughter was singing on the way home and my son was practicing his air guitar for expert timing. Word...

    We shall be back, soon.

$1 pizzas every Mondays and Tuesdays after 4!

Ahh I've been eyeing this place but just never went in for one reason or another.  Finally, my bf and I had a reason to check it out..one of our favorite bands Badfish was performing here on one Friday night.  We saw a flyer and saw the cover was only $10 so why not?

We were already excited as it was hearing the jazz music while barely at our car.  Walking in, I definitely didn't expect it to be a bar atmosphere at all!  The name and the sign on the outside is misleading and just makes it seem like another pizza restaurant..boy was I wrong!  It was dim inside with booths and tables in front of the stage to the right.  You're met with their fully stocked bar as soon as you walk in through the entrance and the atmosphere is definitely inviting.

Came here around 8 and the place was getting full but luckily we found seats right at the bar and still in good view of the stage. Our bartender was a little slow at first at getting us drinks (it took 10 minutes just to make eye contact with him and get his attention).  But throughout the night he kept checkin in on us and was very attentive thereafter.  He makes the drinks stiff!  A plus!  Chucky and I ordered a small pizza and not only was it cheesy and greasy (just how I like it!) but it was one of the best pizzas I've had by far.

The bands that played were great, Badfish of course didn't disappoint and there were even artists there displaying their paintings/artwork for show and for people to buy.  It's an eclectic crowd but definitely not the rowdy drunken douche bag type where you know a fight is about to stir up.  Definitely coming back again.  We enjoyed ourselves here.

Ok there are three things you need to try here.
    1. The apple martini- trust me its good
    2. The antipasto salad with the tomato dressing.
    3. This one is important, the Pizza with the chicken, broccoli and alfredo sauce. My hubby doesn't really like broccoli but he loves this pizza (i guess if you were to put that sauce and cheese on anything it would be good)

The atmosphere is interesting, and I was almost denied my pizza when they were having a private event but they must have seen the dissapointment on my face because they let me in to order it to go, bless them!!!!

    Overpriced!
The pizza is great when you're drunk, but only decent when you're sober. everyone there that works behind the bar does'nt even look old enough to be serving beer and when i asked for PBR they gave me budlight. When i pointed the mistake out the young kid said "whats the difference" ummm please just pour me what i asked for, and right after rolling his eyes and a whisper under his breath he finally gave me a PBR that was flat and gross.

I went here to see my friend's son's band play and while we were there we ordered dinner.  We had the broiled artichoke hearts with marinara and it was DELICIOUS!  We also ordered the alfredo penne with chicken and the Putanesca pizza (SO GOOD)!
I would go here for pizza all the time if it wasn't so far from my house.

Just a tip - If you don't want to go to listen to music, call in for take out!

I've been here a few times for some local musical acts. Most recently a Sunday afternoon show featuring some young punk acts (covering it for a webzine I write for).

Sat down at the bar and literally waited 5 minutes before one of the bartenders acknowledged my friend and I. It wasn't like they were overwhelmed (since most of the crowd was definitely under 21) and it took a raise of the hand to get someone over. 3 dollar PBR specials are nice but 6 bucks for a pint of Blue Moon (which is owned by Coors...)??? What the hell???

As a music venue, it has an odd set up. The stage is set in the back of the place, off to the right. The stage is small and intimate if you choose to stand up near the stage for the show. There are tables not too far from the stage and booths around the back of the venue / restaurant.

Not a place I love and not a place I hate...kind of indifferent about Dipiazza's. My favorable three star rating is mainly based on the fact this place books local musical acts and independent touring artists...I'm always a big supporter of those who support the independent arts.

Cool place was easy to find. Not from around there so that helps out alot. Lots of parking which is convenient. Drinks were a good price and the service was good. Everyone seemed friendly.

I didnt get to try to food but it sure looked good from the sight. Big plates and full. Good sized dance floor and many booths to eat at. Plust a back patio that can get crowded if theres a show going on with smokers, so if theres a show going on i reccomend not eating outside.

The reasons I didn't give this place 4 or 5 stars are because 1. They cram a lot of people in a small place and 2. The live band is way too loud; couldn't hear a word of what my friends across the table was saying!

I also went here for the first time for my friend's grad party so we were a huge group taking up pretty much half the restaurant. Now on to the food...the pizza was delicious so cheesy and so hot and toppings in every bite. The wings were spicy spicy spicy but oh so delicious and each bite was full of flavor. And my favorite by a huge stretch was the chicken parm. I was so full but I kept eating it because it was so damn delicious. First of all, it was smothered (in a good, mouth-watering way!) in marinara sauce and cheese; seriously, I had to wrap the cheese around my fork to get it off the plate. The chicken was slightly juicy and went great with the caesar salad and bread they serve up as a side.

As far as drinks and dessert go, I have no idea because I just had water and the dessert was ordered from a different place for the party. Same goes for prices...no idea because since it was a grad party everything was paid for! Score!

If I'm ever around that area again and am hungry, I think I'd def stop by just so I can have that chicken parm again.

Think Alex's bar with http://bomb.com food. Punk-rock, rockabilly to the fullest.
Service is great, drinks are stiff, food/pizza are good(decent vegetarian options) and the live music rocks! There's a stage and cool old-school dining booths. This place is so chill.

    Food:
Try "broken hearts" (fried artichoke hearts w/ranch, yum!) & the "no cheese" no guilt pizza. YUM!

this is the first time i played a show here, and the only reason i accepted to play a show for free is because a friend invited me and asked me to play..so i was cool with it, i've played over a hundred shows before, i played at Warped Tour and Bamboozle last year, and this is the worst show i've ever had in like 4 years!
    1. they didnt pay us a cent! not even a free water!! which was alright i guess because again, it was more like i was trying to do my friend a favor and i knew we weren't getting paid from the beginning..
    2. they made us sell tickets with NO cuts!!! usually if you don't pay a talent you at least give them a cut to the tickets they sold..SPECIALLY when half the crowd was ours!
    3. DID NOT promote us what so ever! i've played free shows before, when i played at warped tour then didn't pay us, and im fine with that as long as they help promote our band..and this place DIDN'T!...at all!
4.they gave us a shitty time slot! aight, that's fine i guess, whatever, but i asked if they could wait at least 15mins before we go on stage because im waiting on 7 more guests and what do they tell me? they tell me they're gonna pull us out!!!! aight, first of all, they didn't pay us! second; HALF the crowd was ours!! literally, i looked at the crowd and i knew half the people! maybe even more than half! those people paid $10 to get in to watch us and you're gonna tell me you're gonna pull us out?! you kidding? we drove and took all our stuff with us from LA and you're gonna tell me you're gonna pull us out? i was beyond pissed! at that point i honestly didn't wanna play anymore but that wouldn't have been fair for the people who came to see us..never have i ever heard a promoter tell me that their gonna pull us out! and i've been performing for almost 7 years now! the worst thing that a promoter could do is move you to play last or something but i've never heard anyone tell me that they're gonna pull us out! until i played at this shitty place..
    5. the stage was REAAAALLLLYYYY small..(i normally wouldn't complain about how small the venue/stage is, but they really pissed me off so might as well mention it lol)

the only reason i gave this 2 stars is because, the chick who works as the P.A./tech person actually knows what she's doing..i didn't expect that at all coming from a small venue..and i personally thanked her for that at the show..

basically it was a show where me and my bandmates had nothing to gain! we put money in their pockets in exchange for nothing..NEVER EVEeeeeeeR playing at this place again! i guess if you're just starting out as a band and you dont have a lot of experience yet, this is an OK place to perform at..but for experienced musicians, STAY AWAY! don't waste your time...

    ******************EDIT*******************
upon reading the owners response, i realized that it wouldn't be fair for them if i gave them a bad review based on an outside promoters actions..but I didn't stay long enough at the venue though as i left as soon as our set was done, so i couldn't really say anything positive or negative about the place..so 3 stars for now :)

Star #1: You can't spell Dipiazza's without pizza! This place has the best pizza that I've tasted in SoCal. I grew up on delicious pizza made from mom and pop who were often just off the boat from Italy back in PA, so any SoCal native who trashed the Dipiazza pies never had good pizza and has no basis to compare.

Star #2: It's a great place to see bands. They have a little stage area with enough room to stand and a few booths and tables where you can sit if you subscribe to the Winston Churchill doctrine of "why stand when you can sit?".

Star #3: The overall layout of the place is great. If you're not into the band, there is plenty of space at the huge u-shaped bar, and booths on the other side of the bar where you can sit to get away from the band. The place is divey with framed show posters and some old records all over the walls.

Star #4: Vanilla Ice is the bouncer!

Why they don't get star #5: I'm not thrilled with the parking. There's always a place to park, but the lot is small and I usually end up parking on the street and walking more than 10 feet to to door.

This is how you do a dive-y lounge bar. The place was dimly lit, fitted with comfortable booths and chairs and it was totally clean. Then again, I went on a Wednesday night. I'd hate to see how funky this place can get on a weekend.

The pizza was okay (LB Special) but it did it's job.

The stage where I saw a friend's band perform was about 20' wide and 15' feet high. Very cozy but perfect for a three-performer group.

Will I come back? I definitely will. The place was clean and comfortable and the staff was very laid back and courteous.

Went here the other night for I think the third time, always to see my friend's band.  They were really good, but I'm not factoring that in my review.  But  I think it's cool this place has long provided a venue for  local bands to play as well as some established acts.

The service at the bar was attentive and friendly. They always brought me the beers and other drinks I ordered, (not inexpensive, $8.00 for a shot of Patron!). The crowd was cool and chill and as usual, there were some good-lookin' women there.

I ordered a small, thin crust pepperoni pizza and it was excellent, the toppings were flavorful, they put plenty of good cheese on it, yet the crust was still thin and had a crispy texture to it.  That's what good thin crust pizza should be like and this was one of the best such pizzas I've ever had in SoCal.  Later I ordered a couple of pasta dishes to go: spaghetti with meat balls and tri-pesto sauce pasta which was to include basil, cilantro, and red pepper pesto sauces.  Got home, the foccacio was great, the spaghetti with meat balls was better than expected---really good meatballs---but I was disappointed with the tri-pesto pasta.  I was looking forward to this, but it hardly had any sauce (or taste) to it, couldn't tell the contrast among the purported pesto sauces.

Anyway, keep rockin' and keep cooking. I'll likely be back for the music and for sure for the pizza.

I'm pretty sure I went on a happening night because the place was packed with fine women and there was a live reggae and ska bands playing with $3 PBRs on tap. I was like in some kind of LBC heaven.

Service sucks, like most places on a packed friday night, but they were really cool. Got to meet some really fun gals in the hustle and bustle and nearly got my face cut up by falling glass. Whats a good night without the risk of getting hurt or falling love? ;)

So anyway, they got a website I hear. They show you the shows coming up. Cover for shows is around $10 a pop which is steep but I kid you not it is definitely going to be worth it. Youre gonna be getting good music, good looking women, and some good vibrations as soon as the booze gots you feelin loose. Hit up Dipiazzas!

If youre from DiPiazza, seriously guys, make that smoking patio larger.

Let me first say that I am NOT giving diPiazza four stars because of the food.  I am giving diPiazza four stars because of the collective element of food, folks and fun (the 3 F's).  My wifey and I showed up to support a friends band that was playing here.  I cannot believe that this was my first visit to diPiazza.  I realized that this is the kind of place to come and have a few drinks, listen to a few bands, and eat some grub.  I would hate to say that this is a "meat market", but the truth is that the vast majority of the clientele are mid to late 20s, and they didn't seem to be too interested in the music.  When I went to order a beer, one guy even mentioned that he came there to try and meet someone.

If you're a smoker, you've got a mini outside patio to toke on a cigarette or two.  Everyone is friendly and the acoustics are good.  In other words, if you are sitting inside when a band is playing, you can forget trying to carry on a conversation.  The outside smoke patio is the only place for that.

We got there at about 8:30 p.m., and by the time we left at close to 11:00 p.m. we had already seen 2 bands with a third one getting ready to come on.  Everyone was dancing near the stage, and people in the various booths positioned throughout the lounge were looking for "that someone special".  Interestingly enough, diPiazza is open to all comers.  There were children with their parents, teenagers and adults.  As we left at around 11:00 p.m. you could see the clientele dwindle to the 20 somethings that were there to close down the place.

Oh, what about the food?  Well, of course you have to order pizza at a pizzeria.  So, we ordered a vegetarian pizza.  It was pretty good.  There are other better places for pizza in Long Beach, but if you come here to see a half dozen bands, the pizza and beer here will make the night that much better.  So, all in all, this is a pretty decent place to hang out.  You'll see a plethora of bands all for less than $10.

I recommend it if you're looking for something to do!!

.., what happened Dipiazza? Compared to our last visit, both were completely different. Like oil & water, or cats & dogs, tonight I left  w/ mixed feelings.

My gf Diane & I planned on coming here tonight for their $1 pizza slice deal. We've been raving to everyone about how good a time we had a week or so ago when we had caught a show here during the weekend.

Our roommates Jessica & Frank, along w/ our buddy Tim were stoked to watch the Mavs vs. Heat game. We suggested we catch the last 2 quarters @ Dipiazza for some good pizza, & simply for them to  just check it out.

I've never been here during a weekday, so I wasn't sure what to expect. A sports bar feel from other basketball fans drinking at the bar maybe? Either way I wanted to come.

So we walk in & it was "Trivia Night", on the larger side of the restaurant near the stage. We caught them playing about midway thru. So we sat @ a table on the left side of the bar so we could watch the game.

We were greeted & given menus. Our server/waitress did a semi-ok job. Especially for it being we were the only people in there besides 2 guys @ the bar drinking, then the crowd on the other side of the restaurant participating in Trivia Night.

Pepperoni pizza was what our stomachs wanted. So that's what we had attempted to order. Our server didn't seem like she wanted to serve us their pepperoni though? She had told us that they were all out & that they would have to make a new batch that would take a few minutes? This was all said in a tone that didn't sound welcoming. As if she was busy & would have to make the pizza herself? Isn't that how restaurants usually operate though? We order, you make, we wait?

We said we were fine w/ waiting for the pepperoni pizza & she agreed. Besides the pizza, Tim had ordered their house salad w/ ranch while Frank had their Inferno burger. Jessica, Diane, & I also got 2 seperate
orders of their boneless buffalo wings.

Since we had been drinking the past weekend, we just had sodas & iced teas on this occasion for recovery. We all finished our drinks & wanted refills, but our server wasn't present & was more occupied w/ the trivia crowd. We didn't have an opportunity to ask her for refills until she came back w/ our pizzas :-(

Here's what sorta dissapointed me. In her words, "To make this easier for you guys, here are the slices we have at the moment. It's not all pepperoni, about half are cheese. But if we would have put your order in you guys would have to wait 5-10 minutes, this way you guys get your pizzas right now as opposed to waiting".

In a way she practically made our decisions for us. See, we wanted the pepperoni. We have no problem w/ cheese pizza, but we came here specifically for pepperoni pizza. We weren't even drinking. We just wanted to eat, we had even invited friends to come because the pizza is great. Then to have someone serve us something we "may" want because it'd be easier for everyone was really disappointing to me. They had to make a new batch anyways right? Waiting was not a big deal, I was expecting to wait.

So we all ate one of each slice to make it even so that everyone got at least 1 slice of pepperoni. Frank's Inferno burger came out when we were all pretty much done eating our pizza. It didn't look all that great. The size of it was average, I've made bigger ones at home. Frank said it was good but it wasn't impressive. I felt embarrassed.

While we were dining, there was also another customer who ordered pizza, except his was a full large/extra large. He sat at the bar drinking, then informed our server that he'd be outside & to tell him when it'd be ready. I nearly forgot he was there until he came back in to ask for his pizza. A guy behind the bar said, "hey, your pizza's getting cold" in a joking way. Seriously? Well why don't you tell the dude it's getting cold so he can get it? The man tells our server that he thought he had told her to let him know when his order was up, but our server had her back to him facing the cash register. She apologized & said that she thought he meant he was just telling her just to tell her so she didn't think he'd left? Really? He was calm & seemed a little intimidated by her. He then apologized & said it was his fault for not being clear enough. I watched this all take place while eating. Can't help it when there's no sound from the tv's or loud music going on. It just looked like they didn't care. It made my vision of this cozy yet hip punk rock pizza joint, into a careless dive bar.

There was one long haired guy who helped us out when our server wasn't present, for we needed for more napkins & utensils. Other than that, the service was ok. Borderline eh. Pizza was good, but wasn't hot off the press. Felt like we were just fed the leftovers. Frank's Inferno burger was ok. Our boneless buffalo chicken was ok as well.

I really loved Dipiazza, I'm just hoping we caught them on a bad night :(

Felt like I was at a dive bar. Drinks & food were adequate. Supposedly no names starter bands get their community exposure here. A cozy little bar with cheap entertainment. Other then coming to support a friend's band, this is not my kind of scene.

Been here at least half a dozen times and all I can say is BORING.
They charge too much at the door.
The local bands that play never seem to draw ANYONE.
Its just not any fun. When the bands are playing people are just sitting in booths which are pretty separate from the stage....the set up of the place is pretty cool for dining, but not a venue...

This is all really sad because I love the fact that I can drink and smoke outside, and play photo hunt at the bar.

As a music venue, 4-stars. As far as food, 2-stars.

Don't let the strip mall-ish facade set you back. Inside, this place is awesome (dim lighting, reddish glow, low-slung bar, music posters plastering the walls).

The sound here is awesome (two thumbs up for the sound guy, gal that work here). And it's the perfect size for new bands.  Small enough that it feels packed (high energy) with just 100 people, but big enough that you're taking a step up from your garage, or basement, or wherever you usually play music for friends.

Food is not so hot. Sorry. The greek salad is pretty good. But the pizza is a little on the doughy side. Not quite Domino's, but close.

They serve Pabst. But not in a can, I don't think. $3 a pint when I was there. If they start serving tall boys at that price, I'll add a star.

I've been coming to DiPiazza's for the last 5 years, so this place is steeped in nostalgia as one of the few places where I could go see music under the age of 21. DiPiazza's is a quintessential Long Beach spot, and most of the bands are local to Long Beach. Most of what I've seen in terms of music is in the surf rock vein. The scene is a little raucous, especially when a band draws a big crowd.

The layout of the space is a little weird, with the stage off in one corner and the seating wrapping around the bar. Although it's nice to sit in a booth and watch the show, it can feel like you're far away from the band. Better to get up close to the stage and stand.

The shows are normally about 10 bucks. Drink prices are typical. Parking is plentiful in front or in back.

Not until last weekend did I actually try the food. We got the potato skins and a pizza. They were good. My boyfriend got the baked ziti which was average. Everything lived up to "bar food" standards.

there's that part in der untergang where mother goebbels systematically eliminates her own children, one at a time as they sleep, before the russians take the bunker. It's odd because you're like "woohoo! take that, nazi scum!"  At the same time though, you feel bad because they're just kids.  Watching the whole thing is overwhelmingly horrific.

It's nice to go check out your friend's band at di piazzas.  It's odd because you're like "woohoo friend!"  You're supporting the effort.  They spent serious hours after work practicing really hard and finding a bass player, even though they're all 33 and should have accepted the "rock star dream"  realization thing years ago.  At the same time, you're really pissed because it was seven bucks to get in, 21 bucks for a few drinks and 30 bucks for substandard italian food and irish nachos.  It's just overwhelmingly horrific.

short circuit was a great movie too.

DiPiazza's is a lot of fun especially if you're a musician. Sound guys are cool and they treat the bands very well. No shameless plugs here. I have played this club a few dozen times and if you act like a pro, you're treated like one. It's an easy place to pack and may appear to be oddly setup but it's not. You have a side to avoid the music and have family time and the other side is where the bands play.

For my first few times playing here I didn't even think to order the food. Wow, what a mistake, many of the recipes here are family and I think it gets overlooked as simply a rock club. I was so surprised by the food that I frequent the place now before bands start because the food is that top-notch.

If you're not into rock clubs...go before 8pm and try thier insanely incredible pesto pizza. Prices are a tinge steep but not by Italian food standards. Dipiazza is a family from Italy. It's the real deal.

    Really?
This place reminds me of a crappier version of Martini Blues.  Except terrible sound, higher door cover fees, higher drink prices and did i mention terrible sound?

    reedeming qualities:
they serve crappy bar food (if you can order it before the kitchen closes)
they have a video game machine (photohunt!)
outdoor smoking patio, which i think you can drink out on as well.  that's pretty cool.
    and it's pretty big.

    bad qualities again:
heyyy go see my friend's band, they're playing there on tuesday night.
    rad, dude.
oh yeah, it's $8 and drinks are $7 for well vodka-cranberry.
    sweet?
    *music plays*
HOLY CRAP it's so loud!  why are the vocals and drums so much higher than the guitars?  your friends band sucks!
no i swear, they're really good, i saw them last week at the prospector for five bucks and got really trashed and only spent $12...

I've been to DiPiazza's more than my fair share of times and I love it more and more every time I come here to hang out, play or organize a show here.

    DiPiazza's as a PATRON:
Yes, there is generally a cover charge at night, however its always set by the people performing. The good news is the money you pay at the door goes to the performers so you can feel good about supporting the band you're there to see. Drinks are awesome the food here is excellent. The staff is always so friendly and even the bouncers here are nice WTF? The seats are cozy and the sound quality is amazing so if a band you love is playing here, you wont want to miss it. Also, parking here is always good. Cant beat that with a stick.

    Playing DiPiazza's as a MUSICIAN:
Booking with them is easy, just go online and find the email, send them your info and have a couple of bands with you so you can get a good bill started. When you play you're treated well, get to make $$$ from your fans at the door and the sound guys/gals here (megan and chris) will make you sound amazing. They mic just about everything here and have some serious skill in the booth. They can also record video and audio of your performance if you want it. Big names and small bands alike play DiPiazza's and rightfully so, this is one of the best venues to play in long beach.

Working with DiPIazza's as an ORGANIZER: This is a family owned business and Mark and Marilyn have always treated me with nothing but respect and professionalism. They are easy going, flexible and are totally supportive of good causes and events. If you're considering hosting an event, definitely look into DIPiazza's.

ALL AGES. GOOD FOOD.GREAT BAR. GOOD PEOPLE. GREAT MUSIC.

    DiPiazza's is an overall WIN!!

I went there last night to see a friend play. It's a nice place to see bands perform at about $10. The margaritas were good. However, I am currently having the bubble guts because of their food. Their boneless wings were pretty good (rather large) but their pizza and their nachos leave a lot to be desired. We had a half and half pizza (DiPiazza combo and then buffalo chicken). The chicken was tough and hard to swallow. The other half, which had sausage and pepperoni was good...going in. But I have been feeling sick ever since :/  The decor of the place was cool, especially if you are into rock/punk. I also damn near had an asthma attack because of the cigarette smoke that wafts in from outside. But the band I came to see was very good and made my experience okay.

I stumbled upon this place when looking for an Italian restaurant to take my mother-in-law.  We were there early about 6pm so it was not loud and there were not many people there. The food was good and the drinks even better. We left right before the crowds started coming in for the live bands. So if you get here early you can relax, have a drink and a meal.....Or you can come later and have a drink, meal and some music!

I've ordered from diPiazza several times since my last review and the food is always wonderful so it pains me when I have to drop you down to two stars.....reason??

When a driver comes to the door and doesn't have a writing instrument it drives my other half crazy. I was a food server for a good part of my life and would never not tip a fellow server but I also knew that it was part of my job to have everything I needed to wait on my customers. A pen is one of your most important tools to finalize the transaction and it's not up to me to supply you with said tool.

Be advised coming to my home without a pen will give you this choice only: TAKE THE ORDER BACK TO THE RESTAURANT AND EXPLAIN TO YOUR EMPLOYER WHY IT WAS RETURNED.

    Thank you

ps: by the way the food was again excellent. :)

Grab a beer. (or if you're me, a screwdriver..)
See a show. (great local bands play here all the time!)
    Have fun..

But please don't try to use the restroom...
1 stall... and there's a mirror over the sink, so girls are standing right outside your stall while you're "using" the restroom.  Yeck.

I've only ever had the pizza there, but it was tasty.

Di Piazza's is super small, so it's a nice intimate setting for hanging out while watching a show. And most shows are $7!

If you're taking your significant other out for a meal, I wouldn't suggest this place... it's like a punk rock, bar, pizzeria, venue... but I do so love it!

When I first walked in, I planned on giving them a 5-star rating. Why? I love tiny cramped concert venues, and there are so few of them left, so this was totally my thing. Plus, they have Lambic Framboise on tap... *twitch*

Turns out, this place isn't a tiny cramped concert venue, but an Italian restaurant that happens to host bands sometimes. Or is it a concert theatre that happens to serve great Italian food? I can't decide.

Turns out, they were out of Lambic that night. Boo! The food certainly was tasty, despite the fact that I wasn't washing it down with a fresh glass of one of my favorite beverages on the planet. The prices were pretty steep, but the portions were not shabby. If I had a twenty burning a hole in my pocket, I would come here again to eat. The server was quite good as well, and adept at coming out in the right moment between songs in the band's set to ask us if we wanted anything.

Previous reviewers are correct in noting that the seating is rather cramped, and the acoustics not all that great. I would like to add that parking is all street, so it's a bit difficult. Still, not a bad place to see a show, especially considering that places hardly exist anymore around Orange County, or even LA or SD anymore.

Great little place to catch a show, grab a pizza, drink some drinks. The crowd is not that bad, but the setup allows it to get packed pretty quickly.

Decent selection on tap, but it's very nice that they have Lambic Framboise Raspberry Beer in bottles for $7. Ice cold, it tastes like juice with a little bit of buzz.

They also had a special cheap mixed drink ($4) in honor of one of the bands playing there (Starpool) for that night, so I thought that was a neat special.

Food is ok, pizza is average I'd say. However do appreciate that the food is good for being a little bar with local bands.

The bathroom sucks as there is only one small women's stall for the entire place. Odd setup as there are a lot of awkward empty spots that could have made for a bigger bathroom. Seriously, you can't fit more than three people in that thing at a time, and the soap goes fast.

Parking is a little odd, but finding street parking within the block isn't too hard. Also if you need to pay a cover for a band and don't have the cash, there is a convenient liquor store with a cheap ATM right next door.

This place is great first and foremost. We went here last Friday to see Monique Powell's (From Save Ferris) new band the Mojowire and they were amazing, even though it was only their fourth time playing together. It was ten bucks but it seemed like all the bands get at least half the door which is awesome for local bands. Mike Watt from the Minutemen's new band was also playing and that drew the bigger crowd on Friday.

Anyways, now that youre recapped, on to the review. This place has everything you could want in a dark dingy bar AND they have local bands. They have a smoking patio, old pac man and zelda machines you can sit at, an extensive menu of food to order to your table, $3 pints of PBR, and a great staff of bartenders and servers. All of this whilst listening to Mike Watt's band play. Awesome! Also the decor is pretty rad as it is old band posters from yesteryear that are enchanting to look at. The food was pretty good. I mean we just had a pizza and its New York style.... but, it was pretty good, lots of cheese and pepperoni. It was 14 dollars for a Large so a little overpriced but worth it for being able to eat in the bar as we were starving. There was also the usual Italian fare : sandwiches, salads and some pastas....I literally only saw people eating pizza though.

I will definitely be frequenting this little unassuming bar in a quiet strip mall as it is so close to my house and a place where local bands can thrive with $3 dollar pints = WIN!!

I just came here last night to see my friends band play. Cough cough Nitelight. (If you wanna look em up). Anyways it was a pretty chill, quaint spot. Didn't eat too much while I was there, BUT, I did have A single mushroom that was pretty tasty.
I think it was a portobello....
Plus they have Sailor Jerry, which is my favorite Rum by far.
The stage was cool and I probably would only come back to see them live again.

I ordered delivery here.. a while back ( like a long time ago) and it was the worst experience of my eating life. I had the Alfredo and ordered a salad.. and I tipped extremely well.. Anyway.. after a few bites of the Alfredo and salad.. my stomach started to ache.. then it got really bad.. I then started to get the chills, then real hot and dizzy. nauseous. This lasted for what seem to me hours.. until I blew out the few bites I ate. I seriously should have sued. I thought I was going to die.. the pain was that intense I was in tears..

With that being said, I have never been there or ordered from them again and never will.

They have interesting shows though.. but I can see interesting shows anywhere else in long beach.. so never going back.. ever.
