I bought my wife's engagement ring at Dimend Scaasi and I couldn't have been happier.
At first I was intimidated by the security, but once I got through the two sets of secure doors I couldn't have been more comfortable. Alexa patiently went through all my options with me and helped me make a choice I was comfortable with.
I visited a couple different jewelers during my hunt, and Dimend Scaasi had by far the widest selection of options in my price range. They weren't pushy at all and had more high quality diamonds than anyone else I visited. Though their prices weren't rock bottom, I was frustrated when I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for at other places.
Ultimately I felt comfortable buying such an expensive item from them because they were very professional, not pushy at all, and had such a wide selection that I could choose exactly what I was looking for without compromising in one area or another.
Since purchasing the ring their service has been excellent. They resized the ring and cleaned it at no cost. They gave us a discount on our wedding bands. They even repaired another piece of oriental jewelery we were given as a present quickly and with no hassle at all.
I have to say after visiting so many sketchy jewelry stores, I had no idea how much I'd appreciate how comfortable I feel when I'm at Dimend Scaasi. I can't recommend them highly enough.

My engagement & wedding band are both from Scassi. They are a pleasure to work with. We worked with Shannon, who is very nice, knowledgable, & adept at finding you what you need in your budget. I'm sure that making a solitaire ring with a simple gold band is not the most artisitc experience they ever had, but I wanted something classic & timeless, with most of the budget put into a beautiful stone, and they make you feel really excited about the experience regardless.
Early last spring, my now-husband siad he wanted to know what kind of ring I might like. I knew I wanted a simple solitaire setting, but I wanted to make sure we got good quality & good service at a good price. After seeing the roughly 60 or 70 5-star reviews on Citysearch, I had to check them out. On their website, they even state free polishing, re-sizing, & simple repairs (unless it's an eternity or tension setting). I went in & spoke to Shannon & really loved the place. I had such good vibes about it (more than at the couple other jewelers I had met) and it made me really excited that I was going to get a really great ring. When my husband proposed, I became a hazard while walking or behind the wheel--I couldn't stop staring at the ring.
I wanted to do a ring like an eternity band but only 75% so it could be resized easiy if needed, with shared prong setting. They had a beautiful eternity band that was out of my budget, but found me something comparable in my budget. It's beautiful & sparkles like crazy. My husband also found a band he liked-- the titanium band. He was concerned he would find it irritating to wear a ring since he never has & since he draws for a living, but the titanium band is very lightweight. He also liked that it was inexpensive (in case he loses it, lol) and well as the darker look of the metal. It's been a couple weeks, and he finds it to be very comfortable and hasn't lost it yet ;-)
If you are shopping for an engagement ring, look no further as Dimend Scaasi is the place to go. My entire experience from the initial on line shopping/browsing to the service I am receiving after I purchased the engagement ring has been nothing but excellent.
My initial discussion with Isaac was through his chat service on his website which is a great feature that allowed me to get some initial questions answered on the spot. After I had done some more research on what the gf at the time was looking for I contacted Isaac and scheduled an appointment with Isaac who was very accommodating with my scheduling needs.
Just a heads up if you're driving in, street parking is scarce unless you want to use a parking garage or valet. So after arriving Isaac showed me the diamond options I was considering and we then also discussed setting/ring options. Being the jewelry neophyte that I am, Isaac explained all the basic information I needed to feel comfortable about the decision I was making which made me much more confident with this purchase. In the end, I ended up ordering a diamond that he did not have in-stock. Shortly after it arrived (which was quite prompt), Isaac and I exchanged emails regarding the diamond/setting and he also sent me a drafting design of what the diamond was going to look like set in the ring which was a very nice touch.
I picked up the ring and was just blown away. The diamond/setting was perfect and I couldn't be any happier. However, after proposing I realized there was a slight problem as the ring was slightly too large the way I ordered it (doh!). I had sized the diamond based off another ring she had which I was unaware was a loose ring on her finger, and in addition to that it was on her right hand which apparently is usually a little thicker (since she is right handed). Plus, I think having a diamond on the ring makes her feel a little more cautious so the tighter the better. =P
I emailed Isaac about the situation and he said to just bring it by and it should only take a few hours to get adjusted. So my then fiance and I hit a cafe and did some work (I would have gone to the art museum provided we weren't there the weekend before) while the ring was re-sized. After a few hours as Isaac stated, they called me and told me it was ready so we made our way back and picked it up. It was perfect and apparently fit like a glove, or a properly fitted ring. =P
I am extremely satisfied with the entire experience and I would recommend no other if you want 5 star customer service and someone that pays attention to the small details that make it that much more a pleasant experience.
I bought my wife's engagement ring here after reading tons of great reviews on Yelp and similar sites. I worked with Shannan and she helped me to narrow in on a ring that met my needs. I needed to think through my purchase after my first visit and felt no pressure to buy. On my second visit I made my purchase.
I didn't know most engagement rings are custom made, and didn't have time to wait as the proposal date was approaching, so she hooked me up with my diamond in a temporary setting so I could propose with it, and then my fiancee and I went in to pick out the actual setting and the wedding bands.
I highly recommend choosing the engagement ring together. I know it may be more standard for the guy to pick the ring, but we found ourselves buying a ring for her that was not what she would have thought she liked. Seeing the options and trying them on worked great for us. Since this is a lifetime ring, we're happy that she REALLY loves it!
The final engagment ring was ready in a few weeks and was gorgeous. We also got our wedding bands here (hers to match the engagement ring) and we were really happy with our purchases and the service we received here.
Dimend Scaasi rocks! I just bought an engagement ring from here, and thanks to Isaac and Alexa, the experience was remarkably easy, informative, and, surprisingly, fun. Alexa was always extremely friendly and accessible, emailing or calling back pretty much right away whenever I had questions, and Isaac always made a point to say hi when i was there, and add another opinion if I needed one. The customer service here is amazing! Also, all of their bands are custom made, so I got pretty much exactly what I was looking for. And because they didn't have a band exactly like what I wanted in the samples they showed me, I didn't know exactly how the ring would look until the day I picked it up. It turned out even better than I expected. And bottom line: my fiancee loves the ring!
I know I'm biased but my ring is gorgeous and while I have full confidence that my fiance did an amazing job of designing, I can't help but give a lot of the credit to Shannon. He went with one of our mutual friends to design the ring so I didn't meet her until I needed to get it sized but he made multiple comments about how helpful she was. When I went in for the sizing she remembered how he was going to proposed and asked all about it. The ring is exactly what I wanted and customer service so far has been amazing. Will (and have) recommend!
Are you getting engaged? Want to make your fiance melt...I know I did! Go here. My husband searched the City (I found all of this out after the fact, I was totally surprised when he asked me) for the perfect ring for me and boy did he do a good job. He said he went to the normal places everyone goes and he just didn't like the designs or quality and fell upon this place. He worked with Alexa who is fantastic! There customer service is fabulous and if you drop your ring off in the am to get cleaned you'll have it back by 3 - 4pm which is great. This is a gem!

So I popped the question (she said yes =D), and I can't express how truly happy I am with Alexa, Isaac, and the entire staff at Dimend Scaasi for helping make this moment special with the perfect diamond ring. Alexa was friendly, patient, and really cared about helping me choose the perfect diamond that wouldn't blow my budget. She took the time to compare different stones (btw, the 4C's mean nothing till you see a diamond in person) to make sure I could make an educated and practical decision. From the moment we sat down it was obvious that she really cared about my satisfaction and not just the money in my wallet.

You have finally decided to do this whole getting engaged thing. However, aside from the "Four C's" you learned about in a 5 minute google search, you know nothing about diamonds or rings. Plus, you do not have the time or patience to go from jeweler to jeweler hoping you don't get ripped off.
If this sounds like you than your search is over! Dimend SCASSI is the perfect place to go. I went with one of my best friends (see his review too) and we meet with Shannon. Aside from being the one of the coolest people ever, she was always 100% honest and was never pushy. In fact, she would tell me not to waste my money when I had stupid ideas. I'm glad to know of a place to get beautiful & unique jewelry in Chicago. Plus, my fiancé went bananas over the ring! Thanks to Shannon, Isaac and the crew at Dimend SCASSI, you guys are the best!

My husband decided to buy a new diamond for me and after some internet research, we decided this place would be an option to check out.
We visited several places in the 'burbs and then made an appointment with Isaac. He was very helpful and patient with our diamond selection.
I could write all kinds of glowing reviews about the outstanding service but the big thing for us was that we received the best diamond value at dimend SCASSI. The stone is far superior in quality and at a very good price.
If you are looking for quality at a very fair price, then this is the jeweler for you. The fact that you receive wonderful service is just icing on the cake.

I didn't have a HUGE budget and I wasn't looking for a diamond. The whole experience of looking for a finding a ring was laborious. I didn't some cursory internet and street research and came across Dimend Scassi. I emailed and received and immediate response from Shannon. I told her what I was looking for in terms of setting, size of stone and my budget. She sourced several stones for me view and was happy to source more had I not been happy. Fortunately, she found the perfect size, color and cut pink sapphire on the first showing. Based on my time frame, I received the beautiful and simply elegant ring for my partner. She LOVES it!
All in all, buying an engagement ring from Dimend Scaasi was a great experience. I found Dimend while doing (hours) of searching on the internet for settings, stones and rings. For me, the thing that sets Dimend apart is their inventory of competitively priced stones COUPLED with their settings. This is important because Dimend only sets diamonds purchased from them (in other words, you can't buy a stone elsewhere and have them set it) and will not sell their settings without a stone. So, in other words, because you have to buy the "full ring" there, it is important that both the stone and the setting are competitively priced. I believe this is the case. First, after doing a lot of shopping on the internet, I quickly discovered that most internet vendors that have a large stock of stones at good prices don't have a lot of selection when it comes to settings; most are very plain or standard. On the other hand, I was quite impressed with the selection and quality of the settings Dimend has. Their website is absolutely fantastic...you can view all their settings, select the metal you want, then pair it with a stone (with the ability to set criteria such as price range, size, color, clarity, etc.). It seemed to me that their loose stone prices are really in range, and certainly, when it comes to putting a full ring together, I think this is true as well. The best part of the website is that I was able to take my time and really get a sense of what I could get in terms of settings and stones within my budget...and then comparison shop elsewhere. It made going to the store so much less intimidating, and because I was able to do so much comparison shopping on the internet, I was confident I wanted to buy a ring from Dimend before even stepping in the door.
In terms of the in-store experience, I worked with Alexa, and she was absolutely fantastic throughout the process. During our initial meeting we talked about budget, and the particulars I was looking for (setting style, metal, diamond cut, etc.). I mentioned a setting on saw on their website, but described that it wasn't quite what I was looking for. She showed me another setting that was not on the web, and was a perfect match to what I was looking for. So, do know that they have a larger inventory of settings than what is on the web. After selecting the setting, we set another appointment to look at stones. We did this so that she could make sure to have several stones meeting my specifications for me to look at. Regarding this experience, I have to say, this is probably one of the most important parts of the whole experience for me...Knowing my criteria for the diamond as well as my budget, Alexa actually talked me into a diamond that was a good amount under my original budget. She was really honest with her opinions and gave me great advice when it came to purchasing a diamond. I feel very confident and very satisfied with my purchase in this respect...at no point did I feel like I was being "up-sold" or pressured. If anything, it was the reverse. And ultimately, I know I ended-up with exactly what I wanted.
Most importantly...my fiancé absolutely adores her ring, and I definitely have Dimend Scassi to thank for that.

I have purchased 3 rings from here. 1 engagement and 2 wedding. If you are going to look for an engagement/wedding ring I would highly recommend this place. I had a great experience. Iaasic was great. He sat me down and gave me a thorough lesson in diamond shopping. I have recommended him to 3 other guys looking to buy engagement rings. All of them had similar experiences as myself. Do yourself a favor and skip places like Kay's, Jarrod's, etc. They will charge you way more for way less.
P.S. - If I didn't know any better I would say that all the reviews for this place are fake. But really, they are that good.

This place got best-of in Citysearch, but surprisingly didn't have any Yelp reviews, so I figured I would pimp it on this site.
I moved here right after getting engaged and needed to find a wedding band. Without any solid referrals, I went to the Internet and turned to CitySearch where this business had an astounding 9.9 rating with rave reviews.
The space is minimalist, kind of unexpected at its seemingly rundown 5 S Wabash address.
The ring selection isn't as vast as what I have seen in some other places, but most everything is really tasteful and competitively priced.
What really sets it apart is their customer service. They went to great lengths to secure internet out-of-state shipping(no tax ) and when I got a ring that was slightly different than what I had ordered, they swapped the two out at the same price, despite a $300 price differential- and placed a rush on the replacement ring.
I worked with Alexa and she is great. My advice is to make sure that the ring model number is accurate before you order, many look very similar and it is easy to confuse their model numbers.

The prices are very competitive and they stock nothing but the highest quality, conflict-free diamonds.

Isaac is truely a wonder jewelry expert: helpful, PATIENT, and brilliant. Dimend Scaasi provided the most gorgeous engagement ring I could imagine. My fiance wanted to have my ring made specifically for me and Isaac did exactly that. We live in Jacksonville, FL and were hesitant about purchasing a valuable diamond, sight unseen, online. We had even found a local jeweler to make the ring, once we found the diamond. However, I cannot emphasis enough how much Isaac made us want to have him as our jeweler just speaking via phone. He wasn't trying to sell us on his company; he just understood our resistance to purchase online over a local jeweler. Even so, he helped us purchase a diamond by answering my millions of questions and phone calls. Furthermore, he sent the diamond for inspection (after an amazing online viewing) and allowed return for full puchase price if unsatisfied. After we saw the diamond, we were absolutely stunned and relieved at how successful an online purchase can be. At this point, we had decided that Isaac had more patience and personalized attention via phone and email than our own local jeweler had in person. We decided he should make the ring. Isaac went further to mail two different ring setting to us to actually try on because we thought those two were definitely it. By the day they arrived, I had changed my mind on both settings and Isaac completely understood, accepted both back, and continued working with us to find the right setting. Then, my finance and I knew exactly what we wanted, told Isaac, and he went to work. I was out of the picture at that point, and my finace and Isaac went from there to create an amazing ring. We cannot express enough how wonderful our experience purchasing this priceless piece became from a google search that lead us to Dimend Scaasi. Once upon a time, I met this beautiful Canadian girl. We fell in love and when it became time for me to propose, I decided that I would like to buy her an engagement ring with a Canadian diamond. Living in Bloomington, I first tried to buy locally and worked with some wonderful people at Jack Lewis, but was unable to find a Canadian diamond. I had heard about Dimend Scaasi through the grapevine and when I saw the great reviews on Yelp I decided to check it out. I went online and found that they have a great website. I was able to chat with a real sales representative online. I told her about what I was looking for and she immediately began searching for Canadian diamonds and was able to locate 2 in New York. She was able to have them flown to Chicago so that she could show them to me via video streaming! I thought that was pretty cool technology, but I was not prepared to make such a large purchase having never actually seen the diamonds or settings in person. They were able to hold the diamonds for a couple days so that I could drive up to the big city and see them in person.
The store is small but has a large selection of settings and they are able to work with you if you have design ideas. Shannon was great to help me through my decision and Isaac was wonderful as well. Shannon had some good suggestions and often recommended the cheaper option, which I thought was nice. They are very laid back and I would certainly recommend Dimend Scaasi to anyone hunting for an engagement ring.

I was extremely nervous buying the engagement ring...I was nervous about the potential reactions I would get being that I am a lesbian buying the ring for my girlfriend (yes, now my fiancee). But no worries because Dimend Scaasi was amazing! Shannon was incredible. I told her what I was looking to spend and then gave her the almost impossible task of matching my budget with the exact ring I (really my girlfriend) had in mind. But somehow Shannon did it. Thanks to Yelp, back when I lived in Boston I had a wonderful series of dates with a certain wonderful woman. So when I persuaded her to move to Chicago, and it came time to go ring shopping for her, I once again turned to Yelp. DS is so cool! Great quality and excellent design. You can go online and find a bigger diamond for your money, sure, but a well-designed ring from DS will be oh-so-much prettier. Shannon took plenty of time to show me the subtle differences in the diamond grades and inclusions, etc. I had read about diamonds prior to coming in, but that had only confused me more. I had a much better visit with Shannon then with her/their competitors & didn't feel pressured at all
Further, my finacee had once shown me a style that she liked, which they did not have. Shannon was able to have the ring made to my specifications - and it far exceeded my expectations and got done in my timetable

My fiancées and I were so pleasantly surprised today with Scaasi, that we just couldn't say no. After finding the perfect setting, I've been looking at diamonds online for the last few weeks. Not casually looking, but calling and researching meticulously. I highly considered buying from an online vendor and Scaasi's name kept popping up as having competitive prices, large in house stock, and a great reputation. But I also wanted to see some high quality diamonds in person. To my excitement Scaasi was a local seller. Perfect. Well, I inquired about a specific diamond one night and in the morning had a response. Alexa asked a few questions, and went to work to find others I might be interested in. She found that and more. I got a bigger, whiter, higher quality diamond for less than I expected. Everything she showed me exceeded my expectations. The whole thing was low pressure, and frankly enjoyable. Guys take note, skip the malls and chains and save yourself a lot of time and frustration. All the other diamonds I've seen in person didn't compare to these. I recommend Scaasi to anybody looking. I believe I would have been equally happy buying online from them online if I from out of state. Isaac and Alexa were a pleasure to work with, and both very knowledgeable. I feel 110% confident with my purchase, and that's probably the most important thing to me in the end. Well that and my fiancées smile when we found the perfect diamond.
Wonderful service, kind and understanding of the type of purchase a diamond ring is for most of us - important and intimidating. We worked with Alexa and Shannon, and both were wonderful. The ring was part of the English collection and took a long time to come in - they said 4 - 6 weeks but it turned out to be somewhere between 7 - 8. However, the ring is stunning and perfect, and I highly recommend this small, elegant jeweler for amazing quality and service.

I can't think of a better experience than what I had at Dimend Scaasi. I came into the store with the expectation of the store being just like all others- uncomfortable and high-pressure. What I found was a professional group of people passionate about the art / design and significance behind jewelery, and a great desire to make sure that their customers are comfortable with their purchase. I sat down with Alexa Schumacher and I was immediately impressed with her knowledge and the fact that she took the time to make sure that I had the knowledge I needed to have in order to make an educated decision. The quality of service, of selection (the unique engagement rings that they have was the reason I stumbled upon their establishment in the first place), of the store, and above all, the people, make this a place I will return to whenever I need to purchase jewelery in the future. In fact, I am actually excited to go back to Dimend Scaasi to pick our our wedding bands in a few months... simply a great place!
