I've never been to the shop, nor have I had the pleasure of seeing any of their bouquets in person.  However, I am qualified to write this review because I've worked with the staff via phone and email to get a weekly delivery of flowers from my boss in Minneapolis to her friend who has stage 4 cancer in Chicago.
When the idea to send this weekly flower order originated, I knew I had a lot of options for vendors.  Using Yelp and local area florist websites as my guide, Dilly Lily seemed like the obvious choice for this sensitive situation.  Naturally, I was nervous to use a shop I'd never stepped foot in to order flowers I'd never see or hear about, so I was diligent in asking a lot of questions when I placed my initial call to them.  The staff was friendly and helpful with each question.
Each week , a staff member would email me a description of what they were sending to my boss's friend that week including an attached receipt.  There were times when deliveries were difficult to execute (of no fault to Dilly Lily), but they persevered and always followed up with me if the recipient was unreachable.
Thank you, Dilly Lily!  Your services have been impressive.  You've made me look like a rock star to my boss, and my boss looks like a rock star to her friend.  I would recommend you to anyone.

Thank you Dilly Lily, for being one of my favorite parts of my wedding day. Everything they delivered for my wedding ceremony and reception was PERFECT and completely gorgeous! The flowers were exactly what I wanted, beautiful, and lasted a long time after the wedding. I wish I could carry my bouquet everyday.

Everyone I worked with was a delight and they captured my edgy/contemporary/formal/black&white theme perfectly. I even got to keep the candles and small vases at the end. I don't have one bad thing to say about Dilly Lily!

Absolutely gorgeous. I actually just walked in here randomly while walking to visit my parents. I can't ever resist beautiful flowers, and this boutique was calling my name from down the street. You can seriously smell all the flowers and when you walk in the store, are intoxicated by the fragrance.

Great customer service, gorgeous flowers and elegant storefront. I'm going to have to start coming here regularly.

Amazingly Beautiful!

That's the only way I can describe the flowers from Dilly Lily.

I was the lucky recipient of a beautiful vase-full of flowers, so I am not actually reviewing anything but the delivery service and the actual flowers.  I know nothing of the price or customer service...

There was a note on the flowers asking to be delivered before 3:30pm-which they were- and the delivery man was very plesant as well!

The flowers themselves are in a huge square glass vase which is completely full of beautifully arranged flowers of all varieties.  There are no cheap fillers or wilting flowers, every single flower is perfectly placed and absolutely beautiful!  I don't think I've ever received a more beautiful arrangement!

Let me start by saying that I absolutely loved how my bouquet turned out, and the fact that they gave us two different boutonnieres for my groom. BUT...the bridesmaids bouquets were green, yellow, and RED roses (which is how they were supposed to be) BUT........ why would they skimp out on red roses for ALL the boutonnieres?  There was not one single red rose in any of the boutonnieres or in the mother's corsages. They were either all orange, all green, or all yellow!

If you are going for a multi-color effect, i.e. a mix of different colors, why would you separate the colors?

I was very disappointed. All of our wedding party pictures looked completely "off" because the bridesmaids had these multi-color bouquets and then all the other flowers were orange, green or yellow. Again.......HUGE disappointment.

I've never bought flowers from this place before. I'm writing simply to review their practice of  tossing rose petals on the sidewalk in front of the shop. On a dry day, it's quite charming. It looks pretty and it smells good. However, wet rose petals are slippery. You probably saw me, employees of Dilly Lily. I was the really tall redhead outside your window who looked like she was ice skating on the sidewalk.

Kudos, Dilly Lily for brightening up the urban landscape but watch the weather report so no one dies on your charming little rose petals.

Very colorful and ornate arrangements that make good use of colors and space.  Flowers are in full bloom.  Excellent fillers (NOT the standard dull ferns and baby's breath).  Worth the money: they seem to take pride in their arrangements, and it shows.

I have only called orders in.  I always make vague orders of roses and sometimes specify preferred colors.  I uploaded pictures of two deliveries to Yelp.  They use nonstandard fillers which make the flowers pop from the rest of the arrangement.

Customer service alone makes Dilly Lily the shop to work with! Rebecca really took the time to make sure that I was happy with all choices made for my October 11,2008 wedding.

I had a very specific feel that I wanted to create for the day and it felt like Rebecca was able to take a field trip into my head and capture exactly what I had dreamed up. She nailed it! On top of it all I felt like I was working with a friend rather than someone I had only just met. She really seems to love what she does and it shows.

The Bouquets were beautiful (there are pictures uploaded on my profile if you'd like to see them) and the flowers evoked such a romantic and vintage feeling (exactly what I asked for).

The only drawback was the price, I felt like there would be a few more flowers for what we paid but overall I don't feel that I would have been as happy working with any other shop.

As a side note, a few weeks before the wedding my boss called me frantic because he had forgotten to send his favorite niece something for her birthday. It was that day and well past the time that most flower shops send out their deliveries. I immediately called Rebecca and asked her if she could help me out (the shop is in the neighborhood where his niece lives). They went above and beyond that day by putting together a beautiful arrangement for me at the last minute and walking over to hand deliver it to my bosses niece.

I will be be a repeat customer for many years to come and have and will recommend them to anyone looking for flowers whether it be for a wedding, a gift or everyday flowers to brighten your life.

Thanks Dilly Lily!

I think if I knew something about flowers or had wanted something more traditional, ala round roses, for my wedding bouquet I would have been very very happy with Dilly Lily.  Unfortunately I'm very non-traditional and when it came to flowers, the only thing I knew was my dream flower was impossibly out of season and I had to figure out something quick.

To start on a good note, the pictures of previous work were beautiful, the staff were very nice and ordered a sample of a flower I had doubts on.  They were also wonderfully understanding when I was unable to come in to see said sample due to my mother's death. They were happy to add on boutonnieres when I realized I'd forgotten them and my hydrangeas were lovely and their ribbons were exquisite.

That said, why only three stars?  I said I didn't want the questionable flower and requested tiny orange orchids instead.   I made my deposit, thought my request was written down.  The day of my wedding came... no orchids to be seen and the flower I didn't want was there, and not opened up.  At all.  I should have paid better attention to my receipt.
Also, hydrangeas are horrible for bouquets!  They wilt really fast.  This is something I would expect a florist to bring up when ordering.  Not casually mention it, but really emphasize their behavior... In hindsight, I wish the staff would have been better guides to a bride who was so obviously horribly lost in the jungle flora.

And finally, the myth about the W word when ordering flowers is true.  My husband bought me flowers from A New Leaf shortly after.  They were half the cost, thrice the fullness and life, and included the tiny orchids, hydrangeas, and lilies too!

So a great place for traditional, but for nontraditional, maybe shop around.

Dilly Lily has always come through with exactly what I wanted when ordering flowers (usually using vague terms like: funky, springy, not the usual, bright etc).  The store is cute with lots of nice greeting cards and an assortment of flowers to pick and choose if you just want something to take with you right then.

The only reason I give it four stars is that it is expensive.  Although it is usually, almost always worth it.  Plus, they have a lot of flowers around year round, so you'll pay for the fact that they aren't in season in the midwest (or they don't grow in the Midwest at all).

We visited Dilly Lily's store twice in preparation of our wedding. It is a lovely place in a lovely neighborhood. I picked this company, as I felt the bright, contemporary style of the store fit my style, and the people were very pleasant and vibrant. The proposals were reworked many times to get to what I wanted, including a comfortable price.

All of the flowers were at the reception venue before we arrived and completely set up. I loved all of the colors used. However, some types of flowers that were not only specifically discussed but also written into the proposal were not to be found. For instance, celosia and billy balls. In addition, at the last meeting, I had specifically insisted that they use the big, rose-colored roses that were displayed in our mock-ups, but they also were not there. Instead, we found odd, out-of-season types like sunflowers and tulips.

I will say that I was quite happy with my bouquet and that of my matron-of-honor. The willows looked great and everything was big, bright and tight. Although, more dahlias would have been appreciated, since I had clearly made a fuss over them in our prior meetings.

In the end, I was about 85% happy with the services provided. If the price were 25% lower, then I would have been 100% happy.

Really cool and amazing selection of 'boutique' greeting cards (as opposed to the awful selection of 'corporate, one-sentiment-fits-all' cards you find at Hallmark or the Jewel.).

Gifts and flowers, too.

Sweet and helpful staff!

I could not have imagined a more beautiful wedding, Dilly Lily exceeded my expectations.  They are the sweetest people to work with.  A very special thank you to Rebecca, Lezlie and Christine, who went above and beyond to achive exactly what I had conjoured up in my crazy little head.  I would recommend Dilly Lily for any wedding or event.  Thanks again for all of your hard work.  I can't wait to share more pictures, but here are a few.

Very nice flower shop -- I got a great mother's day arrangement -- and a pretty good everyday arrangement, though it seemed a little small for the price... but, you get what you pay for, and the flowers are fresh, beautiful, and nicely arranged.   I will go back and would recommend.

I have to give the beautiful flowers my boyfriend bought me from Dilly Lily 5 stars.  It was a great bouquet - Great colors, so fresh and of course very pretty.  It sounds like the people there are very helpful as well because I'm sure he couldn't have picked out such a fabulous bouquet himself.  I do love him, but let's be honest, he is a guy and therefore doesn't know much about flowers!

5 stars, well deserved. Dilly Lily is an adorable floral boutique in Lincoln Park, with much more than flowers. They stock adorable cards, amazing candles, and holiday nick nacks. Next time I order flowers, I will definitely be going here. There are also vases all over the place, so you can be sure to make your arrangement extra unique. I called the store as well as went in for a wreath I saw in the shop's window- the service is impeccable. Their employees are so nice and helpful. I hope to be using their floral services in the future!

Not always the most convenient for parking, but definitely worth the trip, Dilly Lily is one of the best flower shops in the city.  They have everything you could ever want to spruce up your home for the visiting friends or family and the perfect hostess gifts.  They also have cool gifts and local artists designs in jewelry and crafty stuff.

Dilly Lily did my wedding flowers. I'm not at all a flowers type of girl, and I HATE roses and think they're totally cheesy, so I was looking for a place that could do something a little more quirky and modern than your run of the mill bouquet and centerpiece. We worked with Rebecca, who was super receptive to our ideas and even ran with our "hey can we put plastic dogs in the vases with the flowers" idea, and let me tell you, they TOTALLY delivered with our flowers. They were even more beautiful than I imagined, and the guys' flowers were cool enough that they all commented on how exotic and nice they were. Our altar pieces were really great, and our centerpieces were just as promised at our trial. Overall, they were great to deal with and were super responsive to e-mails and other inquiries during the process. The only issues I can think of are that delivery of personal flowers was a little late due to heavy parade traffic in the city (so I don't really think it was their fault), and there were some issues with lost checks and then replacement checks, etc., that wasn't really that big of a deal. Overall, if you're into a more quirky or non-traditional look for your flowers, I totally recommend them. I'm sure they do great traditional looks as well, but why waste their great ideas with traditional flowers?

I used Dilly lily for my bridal party flowers and they did a fabulous job.  The colors were great,  just what I wanted,  Rebecca spent a lot of time with me discussing what type of look I was going for and made suggestions for reasonably priced flowers to accomplish that look.  .  They also did a sample bouquet of my wedding flowers,  since I did not want surprises on my wedding day,  that was a huge plus.  The sample was not quite what I had in mind,  but we quickly worked out an alternative.  I was very pleased with the flowers for all of my bridal party,    Rebecca was very responsive to emails,  overall great experience,  great service,   and I would recommend them to others.  I would have given 5 stars except for a few things:  .flowers seemed to wilt fast ( however it was a hot day)  and they are a little pricey.

despite the beautiful flowers, dilly lily is a pretty lackluster shop. the flowers are kept in a cooler that is surprisingly easy to miss. the gift selection is the same old same old- candles, bath stuff, unattractive picture frames, only everything is like five times more expensive than you'd expect. definitely not a place to find something modern or unique.

try asrai garden in wicker park or fleur in logan square instead. both have a 'secret garden' vibe and do a great job of integrating the flowers with the merchandise (which, by the way, is always exciting and amazing- expensive, but worth it).
