Our Boston terrier (terror?), Simon, has stayed with Calla five times. We battle traffic to take him there because she's so great with dogs, including those with separation anxiety. She gives Simon plenty of lap time, lets him sleep on the bed if he needs to, and gives us a full report.

She also taught Simon to run off some energy instead of jumping up on people like a maniac, and she recommended a different food that has done wonders for his, shall we say, aromatherapy issues.

We felt perfectly comfortable leaving Simon in her care for a two-week stretch. Even for trips where he could have come with us, we always figure he'd have more fun playing in the yard with the other dogs at Calla's. We really appreciate knowing Simon has a great place to stay, and at reasonable rates to boot.

I think anyone who knows me would agree that I am ... obsessive ... about my dogs.  I research the foods I feed them, the best vets in the city, the possible danger of greenies and raw hides, anything and everything!  

So believe me when I say that Calla and family at Didgeridog are the Only people in the city with whom I would leave my boys.  This is a truly wonderful and safe environment for any small dog.  The boys get to sleep in bed if they so choose, they play with all the other small dogs, get constant cuddle time, and all the empathy and understanding they can receive. (And they do need understanding ... sometimes their behavior is, shall we say, less than perfect.)  

Calla is unbelievably knowledgeable about all things Dog--from humane training methods to the best brands of food to the eccentricities of each and every breed.  She has an incredible ability to deal with every issue and relate to every dog.  For example, my dog Charlie is a very difficult little Chihuahua--there are three people in the entire world that he tolerates, and he lives with two of them. Calla was able to win his trust almost immediately, and has improved his behaviors immeasurably.    

So you would think that with all the special treatment, expertise, and incredible environment offered by Didgeridog, the prices would be sky high. Not so!! Calla offers extremely reasonable and affordable rates for the services she provides. (And I'm a law student, so affordable is essential!)  I have boarded the boys at Didgeridog every exam period for three weeks at a time; it's incalculably invaluable to have them stay somewhere that I feel 100% confident they are safe and happy.  Case in point: my nine-year old dog has always hated being anywhere outside a ten foot radius of me! He gets anxious even staying with close friends and the dropping off process has always been arduous, with crying on both of our parts. However, every time I drop him off at Calla's, he takes off--eager to play with his doggie buddies--without a backward glance.
That, I think, is a more glowing review than anything I could say about Didgeridog!

Plus, Calla and family foster little dogs in need of homes, which just makes them wonderful people all around!  I could not recommend Didgeridog more highly!

I have been taking my little pup to Didgeridog for occasional boarding over the last couple years, and I can say with confidence that it is the BEST place in town for small dogs.

If you have a small dog that needs loving attention while you are at work or away on vacation, I highly recommend that you call Calla. She is an expert on dog behavior and treats every animal as though it is her own.

I adopted my dog from the pound, and she is always fearful of strangers. Calla and her family completely won her over from day one - when I drop her off she eagerly wags her tail and goes to give kisses to everyone there. It's a wonderful feeling knowing that she is in such good hands while we are out of town.

If your dog has medical issues (mine gets occasional back spasms), Calla is also terrific with managing medications and keeping a close eye on your pup's health.

Didgeridog truly is small dog heaven, run by a family who loves animals and will provide unmatched care and love for your pet. I feel so lucky to have found Calla - she is a true gem.

I can not say enough good things about Didgeridog!  We just completed our second stay there for our wonderful dog Romeo and I could not be more pleased.  This is the ONLY place we will ever use.

Calla runs a fantastic haven for small dogs and she knows dogs so well.  From the first time I met her, I knew that she would look after Romeo like one of her own and that he would be given plenty of attention during our absence.  Calla's house is a doggy playground-with a special yard for the dogs and lots of things to play with.  The dogs are able to move freely around the house and Calla's whole family is involved in caring for, and loving, their visitors.

Our dog is a diabetic, so it was very difficult to find a place for him that felt comfortable giving insulin injections.  Calla was very knowledgeable and is so responsible and managed Romeo's medical condition wonderfully.  Romeo was given so much attention and love that I knew he was quite sad to come home!

What a relief it is to find a loving home for your pet and to know that he will be spoiled rotten and have fun!  We have 100% faith in Calla and her family and have already booked a spot for our third vacation!
