We had lunch here yesterday.  Alan found it on Chowhound or TripAdvisor.  There are two locations and frankly, I'm not sure whether this was the one where we ate, but I expect they're the same.  It was by Gate 18 and we were leaving out of Gate 21, so it was handy.  18A?  18C?  Dunno.  Whatever it was, the food was pretty good and it was reasonably priced.  A two meat platter w/ two sides was about $8.  Two ribs, lots of brisket, a cob of corn and a scoop of mediocre potato salad.  The brisket was better than the ribs, which were a bit dry.  The corn was surprisingly good.  Alan had a brisket sandwich and shared parts of my platter.  He had coleslaw, which was OK.  They had smokehouse looking beans and green beans that looked radioactive as well as other sides.  Not fine airport dining like at Seattle or some other airports, but pretty satisfying.

I detest this airport. I've gotten delays and lost luggage, held up in customs, missed flights because travel time to the other terminals, etc. Just plain ol' sucks butt. But I have to take this airport or be resigned to the Bush Airport. This BBQ institution is the one place I search out for here when I transfer planes from NY to LA.

With a name like 'Dickey's', you know it's going to be bad and it's going to be pretty real. Actually, it's situated right next to Popeye's Fried Chicken. If you're a vegetarian, well, it sucks to be you because there are NO VEGETABLE options here. You can pretty much start sucking on the wood fiber napkins. Stewed beef, hickory smoked, slow-cooked brisket, tri-tip bbq. And to top off the authenticity, they have some old, tall, southern African American guy who is as sweet as goodness serving up the stuff. He's the only highlight when I am begrudgingly sent to this a-hole of an airport.
