Come here with coworkers every so often to hang out and shoot some pool.  During weekdays it's not crowded at all so if you're looking for a place to relax after work this is a good spot.

Other than the weekly visits here, I don't play much pool so I can't comment on the condition of the tables or the equipment, but it's good enough for us.  Waitresses are friendly for the most part (and they are usually kind enough to humor the flirty conversation that my coworkers sometimes spew).

I like the appetizers... fried stuff goes well with pool!  If I'm really hungry I'll also go for their fried rice.  Not bad at all.

I've also stopped by here a couple times during "club" nights... a bit noisy and crowded for my taste but go for it if you're into that kind of thing.

I remember when I was really sh*tty at pool.

I remember when I was just old enough to enter this place.

I remember when the plaza it was in was teeming w/ businesses and customers.

I remember when Diamonds was a classy pool hall.

But that was then.  This is now.

After 10 years, Diamonds has gone downhill, another sad victim of the economy.  In a sad desperation of clinging on, they've turned this place into a wannbe club on weekends.

All the classy patrons have left and gone, and have been replaced by customers on the the lower end of the spectrum.

I'll admit...it's a lot more crowded here than I remember so they must be making good money.  I just wish they spent it on keeping the bathrooms from smelling like pee.

i gave it two stars because there arent too many pool halls around, let alone a decent one.  So kudos to diamonds for not being the worst one.

The only good change since then?

at least I don't suck at pool anymore :)

I think this is an awesome place to either shoot pool, meet with friends, or just to simply hang out.  The ambiance is pretty nice and the tables and accessories are pretty well maintained.  Also, on the weekends I believe they have a dj so that's pretty cool, but make sure to arrive early or after 10pm or else you'll be on the wait list.

One thing I did not agree on was the price of the table per hour.  $15 an hour after 8pm!  Seems a bit steep to me.

Overall, I would come back to this place and maybe try their food?

A chill spot for some good drinks, shooting some pool, and food. The appetizer sampler, the fried chicken, french fries, and the fried rice are my favorite dishes to order. They have approximately 6 or 7 pool tables, I think. They have a DJ come in on the weekends, to provide you with some good tunes. The dance floor is rather small though.
Parking is free in the structure of the hotel next to it. Diamonds is located on the third floor of the building, and usually only one elevator works... but I like taking the stairs anyway.

I love this place. Even though last time I went there some dude there yelling and complaining about something, but thankfully the bartender kicked them out of the bar! I continued to play my pool game in peace, and then went outside for a cigarette. I love how the employees make the environment save and inviting for local drunks whom are not interested in fighting. Fantastic!

I barely started going here the beginning of this year but I like how modern the place looks compared to ghetto, smoked filled pool halls. U have to go outside if u want to light it up. My homies all dj there so the music is always poppin. I hate going to a lounge where the music suck azz. It was busy every Saturday that i went but it depends, sometimes it's dead. The place has room to sit and get your drink on while watching the tv's or play pool.

The lounge is local so if u want to drink and get faded, u don't have to drive far and it's chill not a high profile club. The parking is just below the embassy suites hotel structure. I've never had to pay an entrance fee but I think when u get there after ten and it's packed, there might be one. The pool tables are $15 an hr which is pretty expensive. The drinks are average costs. The waiters dress like casino/ club chicks. They got game monitors at the bar. The restrooms r always dirty.. Need tlc!

Other than that, it's a chill place to go if you just need a place to unwind. Much better with a crowd for sure.

If you are a dude that is known by most as dating the girl of everyone elses dreams.
or
If you sport a pair of fake diamond earrings, frosted and/or spiked hair, half a can of Axe, unbuttoned collared shirts, any kind of flat billed hat with the sticker still attached and lifted trucks are considered "tight."
or
if you rock a pukka-shelled necklace, have some variation of an Asian symbol tattoo on your shoulder or back or even better a tribal "tat", throw various fake gang signs during pictures and you got voted at your fraternity as the "Best Kegstander"

DIAMONDS is FOR YOU.

Chicks if you are:
1. dating a dude described above.
2. want to date a dude described as above.
3. want to hook up with dude described as above.

DIAMONDS is FOR YOU.

I give two stars as the happy hour is decently priced. The place is clean. It also helps that I know one of the bartenders and he can hook a girl up.

Yeah bro.

Yeah bro I suck at pool too.

ok, i came here last night
i have been here before, pretty laid back back then....times have changed!
no more a chill relaxed type of place that pulls in trashy people!
waitresses wear barely there clothes, its billed a bar, but its tried to be a cheesy club
super loud on a friday night!
drinks are weak, moderately priced, beer is $5
but i think i gave this place such a lousy rating was the clientel!
i was witness to live PORN!  no joke!
i was there only for a bday gathering, which was laid back, got pool tables and still get to watch the NBA games, but definitely allowing the couple to continue with their activities was so gross...
i kid you not, the guy takes his girls g-string off, drops on the floor, quickly picks it up....eventually things get even worse after the fingering, we see him jacking off and then she continues and performs the hand job!  mind you the waitresses keep passing them by, taking there drinks...what else is gross is that, they dont wash their hands, i dont know where the product of that job went...gross and they kept touching the pool table, billiard balls, and the cue stick...when they were done with the table they paid, but continued their sexual exploits and then a poor group of people utilize their table and quickly realize what those two were up to and left, but did not know they used their cue stick with juices...i wanted to barf.....PLEASE do not go here, only if you want free porn, but know that you may be sitting in grossness!  DO not touch anything!

I've only been here once and it wasn't so bad for a "pool hall", which tends to be filled with lots o guys and can be a bit grungy.  It's actually kinda isolated from everything else at night as all the other surrounding businesses in the complex seem to be more daytime businesses (woman's gym, photography studio or other..)

But the reason why this place works is because it caters to the males as well as the females.  They have plenty of pool tables and beer for the guys as well as a dj/dancefloor and cocktails for the ladies.  I enjoyed practicing my game with a Stella, as well as dancing a few songs on the dancefloor.

So there is a good mix of guys and girls here.  And geez, a lot of the girls here came in their clubwear just to dance!  So don't come in yo jeans and a cap.. the other ladies will not be impressed!  Haha.

This is one of the few places that I regularly visit. The first time I went here was on Christmas eve. Our regular pool place was closed that day and I looked up online to find this place. I called them up and they were open that day. The dude at the bar, who was the owner told us later that they are open every Christmas eve.

Well, this is the first full fledged billiards/pool place that I have been to. This place is big and has nice sized tables, not those baby pool tables that you find in the dive bars. There is enough room between tables, so you don't have to cramp when you take a shot.

They have waitress service and also a decent sized dance floor for the groovers. The drinks are well made and will cost $7 a mixed drink. I haven't tried the food here but I hear only good things about it.

The restrooms are clean and parking is plenty. I really enjoy playing here and I will be going back again and again.

Came a on Tuesday night to watch a Lakers game and it was really dead, probably only six other people in the entire establishment but more room for me.

-Interior
Third floor across the Embassy, kind of tucked away in the corner. Tons and tons of pool tables with booths next to each one practically which is nice; limit the number of people around the pool table so people can walk by and such. One full bar in the middle of the place, also has a view overlooking the streets, a jukebox (although I heard they have a live DJ on the weekends), and the mandatory darts machine. Very dim at the bar but the pool tables are well lit. Tons of TV's mounted everywhere so it's not too hard to watch your favorite sporting event.

-Food/Bar
$2-3 beers for happy hour, can't complain much here. Although my friends ordered food (a chicken sandwich and a double cheeseburger) and it took a long time for it to come out. I didn't understand why; the place was empty and no one else was eating anything.

A nice place to come chill with some friends if you want to watch a sportings event or shoot some pool. Can't say much about the service from the kitchen but the bartenders are on it.

Nice place to shoot pool with your buddies!    We always come here after watching a comedian two blocks away at the Brea Improv comedy club.

Full bar with friend bartenders and servers to please your every whim.   Security guards are gregarious as well.

Live DJ on the weekends spinning the latest shiznit mixed in with some blast-to-the past mashup.

Well constructed, full size, non-ripped felt pool tables with comfy chaste seating allocated to each table.

No admission.   "whoop whoop!'

I was driving past this place and was reminded of my last visit.  It was an early evening so the place wasn't too busy.  After the door guy omitted any common courtesy they turned us loose inside.  Beer stained felt, crooked pool cues and deafening silence awaited us as we arrived to dirty table after dirty table. We settled in a back corner and were eventually served by an impatient bar maiden who sat speechlessly next to us awaiting payment. Needless to say we never got around to any food or late night atmosphere. Though I can imagine this placing being nicer once the lights are off.

I don't know why I'm giving this place a second star. Maybe because I only save the single for the absolute worst.....

This spot is a little chill spot to kick it after work. A great thing about this place is the really nice pool tables. The thing is you have to pay more for the in regards to quality of the place which isn't too shabby.

Playing pool at cheaper places means you play on cheaper quality tables, so there is a trade off.

So if you don't feel like going to a shady pool hall come here!

i do....

This is the hottest place!  The drinks are good and the price is reasonable.  The wait staff are totally friendly and the music is great!  It's a classy elegant place but fun and happening at the same time.

Happy hour is cool.  But I love to people watch so I really enjoy it when it gets busy later in the evening.  This place gets pretty busy even on a Wed. evening!  I really like to come here on the weekends as well.  The DJ is is great on the weekend (not sure who he is).

I think this is a great place to hang out and I eat here quite a bit and think the bar food here is better than other bar food - so kudos to the kitchen staff.

I came here for a going away party for a coworker a while back, and the only thing I could think of was, "Couldn't they pick somewhere else?". The Sheer pretentiousness and straight up lack on any kind of REAL sophistication is sickening. How can you consider Old Granddad and Jack Daniels top shelf? Anywhere? If I wanted to play pool with a bunch of flat billers that think that drinking Grey Goose Vodka is their ticket into some sort of MTv fantasy world, I'd go here. Otherwise, I wouldn't go near it with a ten foot pole, and neither should you. There are plenty of good dive AND non-dive bars out there that offer cheap or even FREE pool. You're much better off going there.

Went there to hang out on a weeknight after an anniversary dinner in DTF.  It wasn't very busy when we got there as it was midweek (maybe even a Monday night).  A little more than half the tables were filled while we were there.

We took a cab there and back so I can't comment on the parking, but it's right next to the hotel there and Tut's.  The place itself is clean which is a nice plus for a billiards place.  The prices there are generally high for table and drinks (wasn't there for happy hour).  Husband ordered the black label on ice, which was a mistake as it was mostly ice with about two sips of scotch.  We figured that one out and he ordered scotch straight with a glass of ice on the side for the rest of his drinks.  I had the smallest martinis I've seen in quite some time.  Small glasses with huge olives.  We ordered food which was actually pretty good.

We'll likely go back when we feel like shooting some pool but that's because we haven't found a better place nearby and we likely won't.

After moving to So cal, my roommate and I were looking for a place to shoot pool that didn't smell of scum bags or have raunchy, over aged, bikini  dancers on stage.  I accidentally stumbled upon this classy little lounge called Diamonds and made it a regular spot.

If you're there for the sauce and the ambiance, Diamonds is a very tidy and elegant spot with good looking bartenders and waitresses, most of whom have managed to develop personalities in spite of their good looks. The staff is more than happy to take care of you as long as you return the favor and the customers are very chill as well.

If billiards is your game, Diamonds has clean tables with accurate walls and a booth for every pool table to keep your drinks and cool out.

It's a place where everyone knows your name and you'll be accommodated  whether you want to play pool, watch a game, get annihilated, or engage in drunk talk.

p.s.  Park in the Embassy Suites garage and do not sleep on the House Fried Rice served until 1am.

Went there last night for the New Year's Eve shindig.  It was my first time.  It has a very nice setting and the pool tables are VERY nice.  Although the felt is worn down but what can you expect from a pool table that is publicly used.  The prices are decent.  I didn't get a chance to taste the fried rice but they did have it AMAZING.

Parking is easy to find, which is a definite plus.  Will go back again soon.  Great scene.

Last night was the second time I've been to Diamonds, a billiard club next to the brea mall.  It's popular with groups of college age people who appear to be local / regular pals. It also seemed to be a little slow as far as action and excitement go, vs. some of the more popular watering holes (meaning even though the place is small, it felt kinda empty).
Diamonds is primarily a billiard hall, with a full bar. There is a smallish dance floor and a DJ spinning non-inspiring music for all of the folks to not dance to (all night I saw 6 people dancing, 15 combined in two nights). It seems to me they'd do better using that space for 2-4 more tables (btw, priced about 15.00 for 3 games) since it's clearly not a place people go to for dancing anyway.
As stated elsewhere, drinks aren't exactly cheap either.
The bartenders and bouncers are very friendly.
The establishment feels classy and well maintained (except the mens room has that pervasive piss smell).
Didn't try the food.
Can't comment on the bar drinks as I have only had beer there, but there is a good selection of beer available.
Bottom line: good place to go have a calm night and shoot some pool with some buddies.

I was dragged out there for happy hour after work. Twas a happy place with happy people which made me happy.

The place is well kept, upscale, and has a hidden Chinese chef somewhere in there that can cook up a mean fried rice!

The alcohol flows freely and the waitresses are not only hot, their friendly attitudes makes the experience that much better.

Oh yeah, and if you want you can shoot pool.

I've been going here for almost two years now. The spot is kind of hidden, but once you know where it is, you'll be coming time and time again.

Its located in the building right across the Embassy Suites of Birch Street next to the Brea Mall. You can park in the mall parking structure, the outdoor parking next to Nordstroms/JC Penny, or the secret/special underground parking, under the hotel. Just take the elevator up to the third floor.

The first time I came, I really like the place. How the big circle bar is in the middle which faces toward the street. The leopard print EVERYWHERE!

If you haven't been here in a while, the time to go is NOW! They've really changed the place up. Every night, there's a theme night AND a drink special. Where the darts used to be, they put up a dance floor and every Wednesday through Saturday night there's an in house DJ.

Its also a good place to come to watch the games. They have a large projection screen and plasmas all around. So while playing pool, you can watch the games.

The food is also good too. Its not over priced. And I would suggest getting the friend rice & chicken. MMmmMm, haha.

The service there is also ok. It can take a little time to get your drink, but you'll get it. Everyone's friendly there as well.

I know the place is getting well known, but it was better when they weren't having all the events and theme nights because it was a cozy place to come and chill. Good place to come with a bunch of homies and just lounge. I'm not tryna shoot it down or anything, but leave the club scene to 330, Envy, DTF, etc. But come see for yourself. Good place to go!!

I was only here for a hour or so, but it was took forever to get a drink.

The waitress was slow, yet pleasant, but even on a busy night(which it wasn't) i should be able to get a couple drinks within a hour.

Other than that i have no complaints on the little time i spent there.

Definitely not a scummy pool hall, but it wasn't nice enough to warrant the prices we paid. The bouncer, waitresses, and patrons were all friendly, which is different. There was good music playing the whole time I was there. I don't know how to play pool.. so my review will be based solely on the two A's: alcohol and ambiance!

First of all, this place is good for a get together.... door policy is super lax, always a place to sit, and the drinks are forever flowing. The prices are pretty good... my drink of the night: tanqueray and tonic was $7, boyfriend had pear + guiness and that was $5.50.

But just for shits and giggles... last night, my friend ordered a plate of chicken wings. And randomly a girl came up to him and ate EVERY single chicken wing on his plate. He didn't even know what to say to her, he was just watching in complete shock. HAHHAHHA the nerve... ALSO, but does anyone else find it peculiar that they serve Chinese food at a pool joint? I'm sure if my friend ordered the chicken fried rice, there was no way some girl would've eaten all his food.

Anyway, come here for drinks and that's about it....

This place is ridiculous for billiards. I swear, with the money you spend playing pool here, you can basically buy a damn pool table.

I gave it two stars because I only come here when my friend is working because she hooks me up with drinks. The only think she can't hook me up is the cover charge. wtf, who charges at the door at a billiards place?

The place is nice though. They serve food at a hefty price. I know they have happy hour but I don't work in the area to make it on time.

also, here's a little advice. I say park across the street where the TGIF is because if you park at the mall, Brea PD will be sitting there waiting to see who comes out and are walking towards the lot. I've done it once and it scared the shit out of me.

I would of gave it 4 stars but I ended up giving it a 3 because they're trying to make it a club on Saturdays.

Before the club nights, this place was a nice place to chill at. The bartenders are cool, the appetizers are pretty tasty (surprising for a bar/ pool hall), and it's pretty spacious. Plenty of pool tables for the people who want to play pool and for the most part you can always find a seat if you prefer just to hang out in the lounge area.

Now on Saturdays they have the club thing. The DJ isn't that great and they have this small dance floor. The dance floor size really doesn't matter because NO ONE DANCES!

I wish they would just get rid of the club night. From what I was told the owner is trying to turn this place into the new 330.

Turn the place back into the chill place friends can hang out at! IMO if people wanted to go clubbing, they will drive to Hollywood

This place is a tad far from everything. However once there, it's not bad. We shot pool for two hours and it came out to like $25...a lil overpriced. I didn't drink but my bf said the drinks were a tad pricey as well. We danced on the mini dance floor for a couple mins...it was dead. We were the only ones dancing on a sat night. Now back in the days when I used to hustle...really, they nicknamed me Shark.  Really they did ;)....Anyways, I like this place. The staff and bouncer are friendly. A chill and not ghetto environment to play pool. And I've been to the ghetto billiards in Pomona, Long Beach, & Cerritos. Its ok there, but this place has a nice and clean decor and feel. The prices are pretty steep per hour to play pool here (and not your cheap $8 in the seedier places). You can either hang out at the bar or smoke outside and the music is usually playing. The bar food and alcohol completes the whole experience.

ya know, i love this place. it's a little bit of a hidden gem, since it shares a parking lot with a hotel, but that's part of what makes diamonds so great. i love that they have newcastle on tap, many pool tables, and a jukebox. but my favorite thing is definitely the little touch screen game they have at the bar. especially the "differences" game. i could sit and play that game for hours on end!

the bouncer guy at the front has always been nice, as have the bartenders and the hostess at the front that collects your ID for getting a pool table.

wednesday nights are a bonus, since it's happy hour all night and beers are $1 or $2 cheaper. but then, it gets really crowded and sometimes you can't get a pool table at all. their beer prices aren't bad normally, so if you don't like super crowded places i'd say stay away on wednesdays. otherwise, hey, cheap beer!

I've been here quite a few times. The first time I was here I got really drunk and danced with my bf on the dance floor like, all night long. I know we got a little carried away because all the employees remembered us from then on lol. I remember the bouncer was watching us like, the whole time LOL, Kinda creepy hehe, but it was ok. And Allen there is awsome. He always comes over and says hi. I've had the appetizers and they are pretty good. I know I have shelled out A LOT of cash at this place though. One night me and my bf spent about $120 on drinks and appetizers. It's kind of hit and miss as to weather or not the crowd there will hit the dance floor or not. The cocktail waitresses are HOT. Never paid a cover there. Pretty young crowd which is nice. Was a little hard to find the first time.

i like this place. its a cute looking upscale pool hall. u can go casual or semi casual or even dress to impress. the place is great. lots of tables (u have to reserve quick for the evening when u get in the door), drinks are great. food is bar food is decent, there's lots of seating but kind of hard to really get a table, and the music is awesome. the dancefloor is small but dj Aquatek always knows how to bring the people in :) will be coming here more frequently from west la :)

in short:
good grief.

go here to drink. forget the pool.

- pool is $18 for the private room on a saturday night, ($15 for a regular table) which is essentially a table off by itself near the bar with 1/2 booth seating by two small tables, and a large tv. it's worthwhile for a few bucks more if you have a small group and only 2-3 of them want to play pool.

- pool, in and of itself, per hour, is expensive here. the tables are in fair shape. felt is good. cues are all the same weight. everything is nice and tan/brown/black. except the carpet, which was cheetah?leopard? spotted. the place looks/feels good. the restroom's well maintained. swanky. classy. upscale. yadda yadda yadda. remember what i said earlier about pool?

well, the drinks were cheap when i went. ~ 5 or per. $5! goodness. long islands were well mixed according to my drinking friends; the other assorted ordered drinks were great, too. but, this is after a few drinks so overall judgment, as a collective whole, was obviously impaired. we unanimously agreed that the food selection was very cheaply priced (after eating out). we did not, however, eat. that money was allocated for more drinking.

a nice fellow named grant was at the front desk when we found the hall on the second floor. he let us know the tables are prorated per hour. we played and drank happily. i returned with the balls and he took a lot of my money.

that's about it.

oh. and i've a crush on maritza, the brunette. gah. what liquid courage would've been able to do for me.

+1 star for being really non-smoking unlike other non-smoking pool halls.

(=

for pool:

one quarter per game at mar vista bowling alley (1 table), challenger pays.
one dollar per game at scarlet lady saloon (2 tables), challenger pays.
75 cents per game at ucla view point lounge (2 tables), no one's here.
$12 as long as you can at 4th dimension (tuesday night? lots of tables)
free before 7 pm at q's (a few more than 10 tables), free appetizers, too, i think.

some other places are in mind, but i'd go to diamond's more than anywhere for pool+drinks (if i was close).

This classy pool hall has set the bar for pool halls for me.  They've got a very nice decor, really nice pool tables, a couple of dart machines, and a little place to lounge and have drinks.  It's a bit more expensive than most places, but I feel like it's worth it.

it's been some time since i've been here but "back in the day" this was my college/grad school after-school hang out.  i used to have a seat ready at the bar and phone in my dumpling order as soon as i go out of class so it'd be ready and waiting - nice and hot. yummmm.

now those days are gone but apparently Diamond's has survived it all.  ahhh sweet memories.

Friendly staff, nice environment... I've only been a couple times but I enjoyed myself; no complaints.
