I gave this place an extra star just for having the cajones for staying open as long as they have on the Central Coast (particularly North County). It's pretty much the only place that caters to one's sexual needs, wants, cravings, etc (besides the odd shelf or two in Fanny Wrappers or a gag/head shop--that shit don't count foo'!). Nope your eyes do not deceive  you it's a sex shop....

Having said that this place doesn't really have the greatest selection of anything. I know I'm spoiled in SF but if you are looking for something specific, do your homework before you go. Nothing worse than coming home horny and disappointed, no?

The store isn't creepy inside. Very well lit and while it's kind of a mish mash smattering, ladies don't be intimidated. While they don't cater to any specific gender, it doesn't have that skeevy feel that some places have. Plus when the big giant diamond is lit up, it shines directly into my friend Christy's living room giving it this cool blue glow. Don't lie to yourself; you know you're a little jealous.

A decent place for adult toys and such on the central coast. When it comes to looking for sex toys, adult movies, and the like, selection is pretty limited around here, so Diamond Adult World is sort of the winner by default.  Be cautious when going and do your homework, as there are a lot of cheap toys and novelties that will put a hole in a wallet without the accompanied smile on your face. I noticed a lot of products with really old packaging, not a good sign. Plus I don't know what their policy is on selling toys containing phthalates, a nasty little chemical to stay clear of.

But D.A.W. does have it's pluses. They have a nice selection of lingerie and sexy clothing, and a large selection of various lubes.  They have lots of videos, AND the Atascadero location has viewing rooms, so you can make sure the video you're gonna drop lots of money is actually worth it (hands out of the pants guys, strict policy). Unfortunately, video selection isn't the best. There's a myriad of girl/girl, girl/guy, anal, and gonzo films, but if you're looking for any niche films, selection can be a little thin.

Final words for Diamond Adult World? Check online for what you want, and then see if D.A.W. has it. If they do, great! You save on online shipping and the like. If not? Don't settle for something less, or you'll set yourself up for disappointment.
