7 reviews for Diablo Hills Golf Course
This is a very nice 9 hole course. There is a good variation of holes, ie, an elevated par 3, interesting par 5's and simple to challenging par 4's.
The fairways are pretty easy to hit and the greens aren't overly curvaceous, so the course isn't necessarily all that difficult, but I'm not going pro anytime soon, so it's good enough for me and perfect for a quick round after work.
You really don't need a cart here, as it's a fairly simple walk, despite a few hills. The price tag is about what you'd expect for a par 9 course and it's usually easy to get a tee-time.
If you're looking to play a quick round by yourself, or with a few friends, this is a great place to do it.

A nice little 9 holer, it plays pretty quick I like to swing by after work and have plenty of time to squeeze in a round. For a 9 hole it has good varation in hole type and length. It is a walkable course without a problem and is easy to get on to with out too much of a wait.
The little sports bar/restaruant is nice and is always a good place to have a relaxig after round beer.

Good golf course and you'll need your irons. Watch out for hole #7
I've played really nice courses and have been to some of the major golf tournaments (Masters, US Open, etc) and for some reason, I love this little course. It's like a little weird gem of some sorts. First off, it's uber cheap. I think it's less than $20 to play a round. There are only 9 holes and so it's a great place just to kill some time, but not take your whole day. The people are all friendly here and just enjoyable to talk with.
I've heard some people complain about the upkeep of the greens. I agree that it's not that well maintained, but for some reason for me, it just doesn't matter. I love this little place. The Greenery Bar and Grill has tasty bar food and on Friday and Saturday nights has karaoke. It gets packed on these nights too.
If you're looking for a Pebble Beach, don't go here. But if you're looking for a place to drink some beers with friends while golfing cheaply, then this is definitely your place.

i LOVE this course! i'm in that in between phase where i'm outgrowing 9 holes and moving on to executive 18s, but i came here recently twice with some friends who live in the east bay and we had a blast! easy to get a tee time and you can walk or ride, usually a nice walk but when it gets hot, you probably want to opt for a set of wheels. the holes are interesting here and with 4 par 4's, 2 par 5's and 3 par 3's, you get to use your driver and long irons a lot. so much better than other 9 holes where you basically only need your wedge, 7 and putter. beware the 9th hole, a crap ton of sand bunkers protecting the green! great course, only downside is no driving range.
This is a 9 hole golf course, and it's a great place to play if you want to go somewhere quick and cheaper, if you're not really looking for something very scenic and enchanting. The coure is not very well maintained, so it's good if you want something casual and don't have very high standards. There's a restaurant/sports bar attached to it called The Greenery that's pretty good. Just your standard bar food...burgers, salads, sandwiches, and a few nicer dinner items. It's a place I play if I don't want to go far from home and are just looking to play 9 holes, but they definitely need to work on maintaining the greens better.

This is a better than average puny muni, but, as the original reviewer noted, the greens do need some work. Most of the holes wind around houses, but not so close that it is distracting. Not a lot of walking, at least for me, but most of the people who play here drive a cart. I have to laugh at the 20 somethings driving around slugging down beers while I walk the course. The fifth hole is a blind drive that plays to a fade, but too much and you're in the beach, hook it left and its in the shrubs, I like this hole a lot. The cafe is fine for post round beers and burgers etc., a few tvs to watch after a round is kind of relaxing. Compared to Boundary Oaks, you can get on any time and most of the people who play here are cool and know the rules. A great place to take your beloved to their first "real" round of golf. I recommend it. Oh and in the summer when it's real hot, bring your swim suit and hit Heather Farms Pool afterwards to cool off.
