What goes good with wine....?
A hunk of cheese!
I stumbled on this joint after getting the recommendation from Rachel at the "We Olive" store. She mentioned they had great cheeses, and I was wanting something delicious to go with my wine.
Di Raimondo's did not disappoint. Nestled on the same block where a lot of remodeling is occurring, this easily missed simple cheese shop is exactly what I was looking for. Great service, decent selection, and meat is coming soon-they are doing some remodeling of their own. I prefer this shop over the other one located next to the movie theater. This is quaint, small, and they even provide fresh baguettes. I picked up some of my favorites: Parmigiano-Reggiano, some Pecorino, and was ready for an awesome home made lunch! If you are in downtown Paso, go in and say hi to Jean and John. They will help you with a smile.

Di Raimondo's was such a pleasant experience. We went in looking for some cheese for a picnic between wineries. The selection isn't huge, but they have something for every cheese desire, whether you prefer sharp, smoky, creamy or pungent. The man working was very relaxed and friendly, and asked us a few questions to figure out what we were looking for (even if we didn't know). He pulled out a few cheeses and slowly cut samples for us.
"Mmm, that's good. What do you think? Should we get some of that?"
We ended up picking up some aged Dutch cheese, a very bright orange color. Can't remember the name. And also a double cream brie which was fantastic and buttery. In addition to the cheese we got a baguette, some mixed olives (very tasty!) and a small fennel salame (also very good). When we brought out our stash at Halter Ranch Winery, it was a delicious picnic, and a beautiful accompaniment to our winey day amongst the oaks and rolling hills.
Di Raimondo's is small but they have a n excellent selection of cheeses and some meats and everything is really high-quality and delicious! In my experience the staff has great recommendations and this shop is definitely worth a trip. They can also order specific products upon request.
The shop is within easy walking distance of the park in Paso but right now it's next to some major construction on 13th street. I say just ignore the construction and go check this place out. I've never been disappointed.
