202 Grand AveI've been meaning to write a review for Di Napoli for a while now but I just keep forgetting to do it. It's almost automatic that I order from them through the online menu that they have and I have everything saved on cache. What can I say about convenience? That it will also be points for a restaurant. But I really got to know this place when I first ate here about a year ago (maybe a little more than a year ago). I happened upon this place after a long drive from somewhere I can't remember, maybe Reno. After being tired, not wanting to cook, and privy to some corporate compensation I decided to eat here by myself. Now I find myself in a delicate relationship with this restaurant as they fill my need to NOT cook at home because they deliver everything to my doorstep freshly prepared. I do believe the geographic location from my house is a plus for this review because of the food being always good from a delivery standpoint. I especially like their Greek salad but would recommend eating it at the restaurant. I haven't ordered any salad but the house side salad for delivery and this was pretty good considering it was in cardboard. I also like their thin crust four cheese pizza along with an order of spaghetti with marinara sauce (I stock my own wine at home so there's no need to get alcohol from them). All in all, another great "default" place for me because of the pasta and great pizza, especially the night before a long bike ride.

If you're taking an international flight out of SFO, check your bags in about 2-3 hours before. While waiting, drop by Di Napoli and have some of that canneloni.
I got a meatball panini here. It was delicious to be honest, and I enjoyed it. It is however all that I ate, and I took it out so I can't really fairly judge this restaurant at all.
3 stars for a good meatball panini.

man didnt know a place like this existed in my neck of the woods....its off the wall italian food~sooo saves a trip to the north beach or down the peninsula (macaroni grill) for italian grubbin....would never eat at a watered down olive garden~thats another story....so back to this italian hot spot...from the calamari~pizza~to the spaghetti/pasta...everything tastes authentic....
Oh my gosh! This place has the BEST pizza! I've been ordering pizza here for the past 2 years and my family and I are loyal custormers.
Cool, casual neighborhood place to catch dinner. Pasta and pizza were decent. Service was a little questionable though, don't t know if it was just an off night. Would go back again when looking for a mellow night out.

When I moved to South City, I figured I would be driving into the city anytime I wanted quality dining. Then, I stumbled upon the sole gem on Grand Avenue and changed my tune. The owners are actually from Italy (they still maintain heavy accents), and all of the ingredients are fresh and diverse. I always order a medium pie with artichokes, caramelized onions, roasted red pepper, black olive and Italian sausage. Yum.
The dining room is only open until 9 every day, but the restaurant delivers until 11pm. Delivery is a little slow at times -- it took me an hour on a Wednesday to get my order -- but it's well worth the wait. The restaurant itself is crowded most nights, so try to arrive before the dinner rush.
The pasta is usually a hit or miss. Sometimes they get it just right sometimes its off and when it's off...it's way off. I've had cream sauce that still tasted like flour.
The pizza is pretty good here...nothing spectacular just good.

Pizza sounded good one day so Mo H. and I hit it up. No option for slices at lunchtime but that's okay, we ordered a medium pie. The Di Polpetta, meatball, onion and pancetta. I'm a fan, it's not the most outstanding pizza I've had but it's solid, it's a nice lunch spot in SSF with good service, a clean facility and nice decor on the walls. I enjoy the pictures of Florence that adorn the walls.
Mo seems to enjoy one of the waitresses here...anyway, I'd so much rather go here than like...extreme pizza which is just horrible. This is definitely a solid step up.
Give it a shot, it's fine but you'll do better in the city.

Brazilian run pizza joint --- The pizza here is pretty solid and its not too far from the office for us to hit up at lunchtime when I'm around. Pizza is 3.5 stars but the other dishes are a 2.5 or maybe a 3 at best.
It's no Little Star, Pauline's Pizza or anything like that - but you won't be upset eating here if you are in the area. I'm a little biased towards this place though because Ana works here....I would like to give it 5 stars for that alone...but I won't

I've had the pizza from here twice-- my company always orders from them. Apparently, the thin crust is way better than the regular crust we've had the past two times. In my opinion, it wasn't too bad, just nothing really special. The pesto was good, the ingredients seemed fresh, but the crust was a little on the dry side.
Came here for a sitdown lunch the other day with my manager and coworker, who seems to swear by the veal. I ordered the fettucini with scallops, which for me, was too saucy--soupy even, but the taste wasn't bad, and the portions were big, and they piled on the (baby) scallops so no biggie. I soaked up the rest of the sauce with my bread, which probably was not the best idea for my stomach.
Overall, the service was fast, the decor is kinda cool- big blown-up photos on the walls, and the food was filling for about 10 bucks for a pasta plate.

Di Napoli you rat bastards.
Let me get straight to the point.
Pizza- I have tried a few not that pricey at all, also not very greasy 2.5 out of 5 stars all in all slightly above average. People who give this place anyting above a 3 out of 5 should not be taken seriously to ever write on yelp again.
Place is too small and sometimes it is too crowded and uncomfortable prefer take out.
Their customer service is why I will never go back even if they were giving the pizzas away. The servers are rude as f*(k and deserved to be taken out back and taught a lesson (seriously). Been turned down an HOUR before closing because they said that they were closed ONE HOUR B4 their actual closing time, come on seriously I had my jaw on the floor when they told me this. The restaurant was still 3/4ths full.
Then once ordered a pizza from here but had a miscommunication with one of the people answering the phones on the price. Called back and hung up on, then called back three times then put on hold immediately to then eventually get hung up on. Finally asked to talk to a manager who I told to then cancel my order. Five days later look at my bank account and sure enough pizza was charged lol. Called back some punk ass answered hella pissed off told him the situation he said no it had to have been canceled already. After proving my case he looked into it deeper and OF COURSE it had not been cancelled. So he then did the transaction then to me it had been done and hung up. Not ONE apology. I am definately not a person who needs to be catered to when I eat out. Whether it be an upscale restaurant or a little whole in the wall. I go for the food! But when you cannot even give a person the decency do the bare minimum when they are you customers F U.
Sorry for rambling on lol.

Sadly, one of my co-workers found a cigarette butt in her house salad...enough said. Either way, the food is not horrible, it's not great but the sanitation needs to be improved to get back into my good graces.

i've been here 3 or 4 times there food is really good i knocked off two stars because one time i wasnt comfortable the employeee was rude and kept staring at me eating
Excellent lasagna. Great family feel and cozy ambiance. Pizza is awesome... even better for breakfast the next day after its been refrigerated.
Di Napoli - the name should be changed to Di Nasty.
This "Italian" restaurant has Ecco Domani on its wine list! WTF?
Ecco Domani?! Had I seen the wine list first I would not have entered.
This will prove the point of my review that these faux Italians should be deported back to Rio for shopping at Costco.
Fried calamari appetizer - they put a huge amount of chili powder in the batter. Chili powder in fried calamari? It was so hot that my companion's lips swelled. We sent it back. They brought another . But in Napolitan revenge this one was salted like ocean water. gag.
Anyway, the pieces of squid were falling apart - a sign they had been deep frozen (hello, Costco!)
Pizza - we love a slightly greazy pizza. mmmm yeah. BUT when its dripping on the edges of a slice, no no no and no. The sausage was bland (Costco again), there were like 5 bits of feta (we counted) and the pesto was mostly oil. The crust had zero flavor, no crunch, and was soggy in the middle.
The service was just as dismal as the food. We asked the zero personality waitress if the pasta is made there, and we got a very bored "no." Is the gnocchi housemade? Another bored and now slightly annoyed "no" Costco again!
Took a peak into the kitchen - gross
The bathroom - skank city in South City.
Anyone who likes this place must be desperately starving or has zero taste. As much as Buon Gusto is mediocre its not unedible like this place. Next time - Bertolucci's !
This joint is Di Nastiest ! Ecco Domani . . .I can't get past that being on their wine list . . . .

Can only comment on my delicious quickly delivered food. Pizza is awesome, a nice thick crispy chewy and tasty crust, loaded with toppings. I've also had delicious pasta from here, delivered piping hot. Salads are good too, although I'm not too keen on their 'Italian' dressing. Tastes sort of like the kind they serve in a packet on an airplane.
I love this place. I've eaten in the restaurant or ordered out and have never been disappointed by the food or service for over 3 years.
Their delivery service is top-notch too. You can get just about anything on their menu delivered to you for free as long as it's over $9 and have it on your doorstep within 45 minutes. You can call or order it online. Now that's cool!
DiNapoli Pizzeria is one of those diamonds in the rough... It's small and unassuming. But walk inside and you'll experience great, family-like atmosphere, good service and very reasonable pricing. It's a great date AND family place as well. Somehow the families that show up have kids that are usually very well behaved.
As I've said, it takes something truly magical to get a 5-star rating. Here's how DiNapoli can get it... Though the interior is very nicely furnished and designed, I think they should get an Interior Designer and make the restaurant more romantic. The restaurant has romance written all over it. Make it just a LITTLE more romantic at DiNapoli Pizzeria, and they'll have to start taking reservations. It's truly a darling place.
Been a customer for years and will be for many years to come. Take a date and fall in love.
I have only had the pizza THIN CRUST...delivered...never been to the location and never tried any entrees
I really do love the Di Polpetta...like other reviewers, I wouldn't say it was the very best pizza I have ever had, but it is solidly tasty...we usually order that plus another flavor....never been disappointed
gotta admit I do react like a Pavlov's dog when I think about the Di Polpetta pizza.....super yum folks
******************UPDATE*************************
we have always ordered SMALL size pizzas and have always been happy....but we ordered a MEDIUM and LARGE and both came with nearly raw centers.....we popped 'em in the oven for a while and it was okay....but it seems this place has a hard time getting the center of their pies cooked if you order anything larger than a SMALL...so go with that instead
I thought it was a pleasant change from the Olive Garden types..
Its a nice hole in the wall pizza/pasta place.
I hated the help.. and the place is kind of small.
But the food is definitely tasty!
My wife had the meat ball spaghetti and I had the linguine clam pasta..
Delicious.. definitely recommended!

Great food, great service.. what else can one ask for?
I've been here so many times and can honestly say their food is delicious!!! Pollo Piccata irresistable as well as their calamari for appetizers. Their pizza is also just right!!! And being a family owned restaurant, we feel like we are one of them.. They treat their customers real nicely...
Just ordered a pepperoni pizza from DiNapoli in South San Fran. Not bad. It's kind of just your average pizza. I generally prefer a thinner and crispier crust and it could have used a bit more pepperoni. Delivery took about an hour (on a Sunday afternoon).
So anyway. It isn't awesome, but enjoyable nonetheless. I'm pretty new to the area, so I'm still searching for "the" pizza place on the west coast. Anyone know a Bertucci's like place out here with a good brick-oven thin crust -- that delivers to boot?

This is my favorite place to take new people. Great grilled vegetable choices, huge salads and entrees. We also get the "Quatro Fromaggio" pizza, even tho not on the menu to eat-in. The tiramisu is to die for..the best I've had. Gets really noisy and packed at lunch. Get there for an early dinner. Servers are friendly and helpful. Easier to park than North Beach.
(p.s. this is on my profile for last meal)
We order delivery from Di Napoli all the time for last minute work lunches. The food is pretty good, despite service being hit or miss if you eat in. And gosh the treatment on their walls is JUST GORGEOUS!! Of course I'm completely biased since I did it. :o)
Their online website is just like the one North Beach Pizza uses - it's not my favorite, but it gets the job done.

I thought this pizza was good until my co-worker found a cigarette butt under the toppings of a slice of veggie pizza. She called Di Napoli's and spoke with the manager about the situation. He was very defensive and insisted none of his employees smoked. He wanted to come and see it for himself, which he did. In the end he refunded the entire bill and was very apologetic.

Dinner on 04/26/2006. I ordered the veal and a glass of the house red. OK, not great, not earth shattering like a Columbus Ave place, but filling. My server was a doll and she took care of me. i need to try the pizza next and if its great that can influence or cause me to update this review.
Updated 05/1/06. Changed rating from 2 to 1 star. Pizza sucked. Go to Toto's in San Bruno and Millbrae. You won't be disappointed.

Did not care for the food here, the calamari was too greasy and little under cooked. The pasta sauce was too salty. Haven't tried the pizza yet so i may change the rating later, but if you want entree's I would go to Buon Gustos instead which is 3 doors down.

Order the pizza.
We live nearby and have ordered delivery from here more than a few times.
By far, the best thing here is the pizza.
The best pizza is the Di Polpeta -- house-made meatball with caramelized onions and pancetta. We order it every time.
The entrees are ok, but now we stick with the pizza.
This restaurant is several doors down from Buon Gusto. While small, the food is excellent. Love their pasta dishes. Service is fast and brisk. That says a lot since there's only one server!
Also tried their chicken pizza. It's very yummy!
I must say this may be a biased review. My company has an account here, and when the boss orders pizza, we order from here. I mean, it's FREE for me, and we get to pay in 30 days! I have had most of the combos, and they are all good. Any pizza with meat on it is just fine with me, and garlic! I really didn't like the Margheritta pizza. Just seemed to be a bit off. Delivery is slow, but I am out in the boonies of SSF. Salads could be better.
Went to lunch here a couple of weeks ago. Although I have been working for one of the many companies on Gateway Blvd (aka Bio-Tech Row) for a year, I had yet to dine in at Di Napoli's. The alfredo was good. Cooked just right. Couple of downsides, the restaurant had only one server and the place was packed. Also place is too small.
