DiMaggio's: just a little hole-in-the-wall place with zero atmosphere off in the middle of nowhere (the Coloma, MI offskirts). But it has my vote for Best Pizza Ever.
The thick crust pizza has a crust that's a work of art - it would be a delicious meal even if you stripped away the pizza! But combining a delicious fresh pizza with this crust is a memorable combination.
It's worth coming back here on vacation just to visit DiMaggio's! -

Di Maggio's has been a family tradition for me since I was a kid. Anytime we went to Chicago, Di Maggio's was an expected detour. Even today, if the mood strikes me right, I'll gather some friends and make the trek down to Coloma for the best pizza in the state of Michigan. Nobody does it like Di Maggio's. Even the way they cut their pizza is unique. Gotta get the garlic bread, and Meatballs on your pizza are a must.

Avoid a certain waitress with, an attitude problem. The price for pizza, here is no bargain. In fact, its over priced. Quality is all over the range, from poor to excellent.

The pizza is good and people flock to this place all summer and winter. Pasta is overcooked, but the kids like it. A local staple with crabby fat waitresses. Interior very basic, dark and food served on paper plates. Go for the pizza. Cash & check only!!!

I have heard stories of this place for many years, so I designed to give it a try. Went here on a friday and it was packed, there was a line at the door to sit and one to order. The pizza wait was 1 hour, as that is what I came for I did the wait. I had the small 12" special (sausage, green pepper, mushrooms) for $15-16. I only came home with two species for two people so it was a good size for two people.
My over all 3 star review was rated on two items, food and service.
The food was a good 4 star, the pizza was very good. And for coloma area maybe the best. The service was a 2 star, they are under staffed for waiters (the waiters are the bartenders too) I saw the waiter three times (take order, bring drinks once, drop off pizza) and the waiter was not very friendly until the crowd comed down.
So I recommend you call the order in a head of time to save your selfs the wait, if you go on a weekend day (fri-sun). Also get here early and not wait until your hungry, so you can get a table. Some people where waiting for a table for 10-15mins.
Only cash and check are taken as well. Also parking is very limited so carpool if you are going with a group. -

I've eaten here on numerous occasions on my visits to the cottage (not my cottage).
Excellent thin crust pizza!
Burgers are good too...try this:
Share the burgers as an appetizer (split in quarters) and get the pizza as the meal! They don't have bartenders (the servers make the drinks), so it could be a tad slow if you're dining in.
Atmosphere is very dive.
Just old tables, chairs, and a jukebox. -

This roadside eatery has been in business since the 1950's. My wife, daughter and I went here yesterday for an early pizza.
The decor is dark and what you would expect from a roadside restaurant / bar. We sat in a back booth to help avoid the cigarette smoke, which at this early hour was not too bad.
We ordered a regular crust pepperoni pizza. The pizza got to our table very quickly. I thought the crust was excellent although hard to cut on the paper plates that they use instead of plastic like you get at most pizza places. The cheese was thick and the sauce was great. We split a small pizza and still took home 2 pieces.
Our service was polite but almost on the nonexistent side. They do not accept credit cards...only cash and check. -

I've been coming to this little roadside joint for years and, as a Chicago resident, I find it to be the best pizza on the planet, hands down. The sauce has some secret to it that makes you crave it more than what is normal.

This little sandy dive sold me the best sub sandwich I've ever had. What a great low key atmosphere. It's one of those cold beer and great food places in Michigan that is clean, comfortable and friendly. If you are traveling north of St. Joe/Benton Harbor, it's worth the stop.

have eaten here a dozen times , but last weekend we made a special trip for a pizza and for some reason it was not the same. the sauce was not sweet like before and the sasauge just did not have that flavor. the Cheese did not taste fresh as well . seems like thier cutting back on their ingrediants .bring cash or your check book they do not take credit cards. Also they do not have but two beers on tap. Bud, Bud lite. Not sure what happened but they were my favorite pizza now they have fallen off my top 5 list.
