This little place has been through a few owners in last few years. Nonetheless, i think the present owners / managers have it right. They have cleaned up the place, improved service, and are consistent on their food. My family is from India, and this place is pretty authentic when it comes to Indo/Pak food without going to Broward county. Oh yeah, did I mention it is cheap? The staples are their Tandoori chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, but don't miss out on their vegetarian entries like Saag Paneer.
For a quick bite eating in is OK, however, the place is not a date place.
I recently tried a few dishes at this halal restaurant. I'm not sure how long they have been in business, but the menu flyer I took home says "Grand Opening, under new management ... formerly Dewan Restaurant" (now Dewan Indian Restaurant).
The food was surprisingly good. I wasn't expecting much. There were no other customers, and there were a few guys sitting out front chatting when I drove up who I think may have been some of the staff (they disappeared into the kitchen when I placed my order).
I had veg samosa, chicken shahi korma, chicken tikka, and lamb Madras, with naan. All of these were good.
Prices were lower than at many of the other South Asian restaurants in South Florida (plain naan $1.50, chicken korma $9.95), but rice is not included with the price of entrees.
The restaurant is a bit off the main strip of N Miami Beach Blvd (aka NW 167th St), where all the restaurants are. I hope the location doesn't do them in. I'll be back and hope the food gets even better.
