5 reviews for Devou Park
From the hill you can see the view of Cincinnati from the South side with Covington and the Brent Spence bridge in the foreground. Devou park has some great spots to hang out and enjoy being outside but this isn't the most beautiful view of the Queen City. It is however close enough to downtown that you can run away from the office for a long lunch in the woods. My favorite spot is the concert bowl. We used to host a casual spoke word gathering ever Thursday until the sun set. The space is rarely used for concerts but has some great acoustics. The best evenings we had were during major thunder storms.
The layout of the roads has always been hard for me to understand. I've exited the park on many occasions and ended up in Park Hills when I expected Covington. Be aware of the turns and look for signs to the highway if you get lost.
Wow, things have changed since my last visit to Devou Park. Yes, the gorgeous panoramic view of the Cincinnati skyline is still there, but much to my surprise someone (probably Drees with their new Drees Pavilion reception hall) has dumped some money in the park. Visitors and locals alike will be amazed by the serene beauty of Cincinnati as viewed from the top of Devou's scenic overlook. Don't be shocked if you have a deja vu moment at Devou because the much photographed landscape appears in innumerable postcards.
Some of the amenities at this updated park include paved walking, jogging, and bike trails; concert bowl; playgrounds; reception pavilion; fishing lake, covered picnic grounds; and eighteen-hole golf course managed by Landrum Golf Course management.
If you're looking for the perfect place to have a picnic or snap a few professional looking photos of the Queen City, check out Devou Park.

The Drees Pavilion at Devou Park has quickly become a very, very popular place for receptions and the like. It's nice, but when you step out of it and see the view of Cincinnati, you can see why everyone wants to be there. It's a view that makes a trip to Devou Park worthwhile at any time.
There's also a golf course which has plenty of distractingly gorgeous views, a museum of local history, and an amphitheater where the NKU symphony (better than you think it is) plays during the summer.
If you're more of a masochist, try running around the very hilly paths through the park. Not only are you likely to get lost, you're likely to get exhausted. But you'll have some fantastic views in front of you as soon as you're able to stand up straight again.
All roads lead to Devou...at least that's what it seems like when you're trying to enter or exit this beautiful park area. The park contains a public golf course, the Drees Pavilion, walking and jogging trails, an amphitheater, playground areas and picnic shelters, and lots of open green space. The park has exquisite views of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky and is also home to the Behringer-Crawford museum.
This review is kind of good and bad in that I have personally experienced all that Devou Park has to offer. First, Devou Park is perhaps one of the finest parks in Cincinnati. Lots of great accomodations, beautiful view of Cincinnati, many friendly people make it a wonderful place to bring your family to.
The Drees Pavilion on the other hand, is the one area of Devou that has issues. Granted the facility is absolutely beautiful both inside and outside - it's the service of the Drees Pavilion that is without question the worst in the Cincinnati area. Without going into too much detail, let me just encourage you if you are considering the Drees Pavilion as your reception hall of choice, that you first set the management staff straight that it is your night, not theirs. This place is one of those that smile and act the part, but then undermine your money by forcing their rigorous agenda and heavy handed self-promotion throughout the duration of you and your guests visit. Never will I step foot in this facility again whether for an event of my own or otherwise. Too bad for Devou that this professional eyesore covers a portion of the landscape.
