Designer Yarn
1 review for Designer Yarn
Portland is a mecca of yarn stores, but Designer Yarn in Sandy is much closer to me than any of them. Sherri, the owner, is pleasant and is knowledgeable about yarn and knitting. She also carries spinning supplies, including wheels, roving and dyes. There's a good selection of knitting/crochet supplies as well.
The scarf-type yarns are arranged by color, but the others are arranged by brand and fiber, which I really like. There's a great selection of all kinds of yarn, and Sherri works hard to keep up on the latest knitting trends so that she can provide the kinds of yarn that people want. She will also do special orders. She carries a wonderful selection of yarns for any project.
The shop is in an former house, located just north of the corner of Proctor and Strauss Avenues behind an espresso/sandwich shop. Sherrie has a sign on the corner to help you find the shop.
It's a pleasure to shop there. Sherri doesn't hover, but is there to help if you need it. I really like supporting a local business.
There are knitting classes every week where you can get help with any project you are working on if you need it.
She's open Mon-Fri 10-6
Saturday 10-5
Closed Thursdays and Sundays
