Design Within Reach

Too many people think modern furniture is what they are SUPPOSED to like, so they like it and try to claim it like they discovered it first by name dropping designers. Maybe in San Diego where everything is behind the times, you could look like you were there first. Like an art chick from the 80's thinking a Cure tattoo is a good idea. Anyway, the showroom is clean, easily navigated and friendly employees. You pay for what you get here, so you better hope you love the design longer than your favorite band tattoo.

This is the place you get furniture that is going to last your lifetime. We've gotten a few pieces, usually one or two a year, and love them all. JD, the manager of the place, is extremely helpful and accommodating, as is the rest of their staff.

My favorite piece is definitely my Aeron chair, probably because I spend the majority of my life sitting in it. That baby will take all your back / shoulder pain away within a week!

One other good thing about DWR is that they often host community events (art / furniture shows, architectural lectures, etc) It's these kind of gathering spots that will continue to grow the culture of EV.

love this place. it's design within reach, because you can find the most fabulous designer furniture, not because its affordable. eames, knoll, saarinen, le corbusier, mooi, etc... can be found here. i want the eames la chaise. it is the single most beautiful chair ever created.
