All the bizarre drama surrounding this restaurant is distracting from the FOOD, THAT IS STILL AWESOME.

This is Crazy Frank's but without Frank. It's basically the same as before.

The salad is still whatever, but placed better. The soup is still great. Last time, it was this sweet, tomato-based soup with sweetcorn.

The service is very, very pleasant, friendly, and eager to help.

They, as you know, bake pizzas as customers come in and then roll around a trolley, from which you can pick what you like, a la dim sum. If it's more empty, they sometimes just bring you two pizzas and let you finish those. But if you're still hungry, they will make you more. It's all at the chef's whimsy, which is great if you're me and you like everything.

The pizzas themselves are heavenly. Thin, crispy-on-the-outside chewy-on-the-inside crust. Curry sauce, tomato sauce, pesto sauce. Lots of cheese. And fresh toppings. Chicken, shrimp, spinach, corn, cauliflower, broccoli, onions, garlic, peppers, paneer, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh tomatoes....the list goes on.

You get to choose vegetarian/non-vegetarian, which is good for when I take out my veg-friends.

Price is $11/person. You can also get two slices and a soda for $5, but I don't think that would be satisfying enough.

This is my favorite restaurant.

Ugh---after Crazy Frank posted how treacherous the cook-owner is, I would never spend a red cent here. I live in the area, and there's no way this place builds good business without a solid marketing push---it's located next to a head shop,adult book store, and go-go dancer bar, fer gawdsakes. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I tend to believe Frank's story about how the business deal went sour--- Desi got a strong writeup in the Metro, and that is tough to get, out of the hundreds of restaurants in the Bay. Do you seriously think the cook has the connections to make that kind of thing happen? Get real.

Frank, keep truckin', brother.

Katelyn, you are strange and full of venom. And a poor speller.

Travis, Thanks for the headsup. And please, don't be a "hippocrate". Hippos are large, smell funky, and probably wouldn't fit into a crate.

I have absolutely NO business or personal ties to anyone who runs or is otherwise affiliated with this establishment. I'm just putting in my two cents, for what its worth.

The food was great.  The service was great.  The concept is fantastic.  I've been there a couple times and will go back many more.

Regarding the Crazy Frank controversy, I have heard both sides of the story and can't tell which side is telling the full truth.  Anyone making judgements here based on hearsay (what they "heard" happened), regardless of which side they take, is a fool.

this place just keeps on getting better every time i go there. i mean tasty soups and salads and then delicious pizza, who wouldnt go there.
(i am kind of disturbed hearing all of that Krazy Frank talk . i mean i bet frank could not even afford a ferrari. thats how crazy of a guy he is .)

well any ways my favorite and absolute favorite it the dal sauce with chicken. that is the one that gets my taste buds going.  the staff is really nice and helpful. and they never let my glass go dry.   i also love trying all of the new combos that the chef cooks up. it is always good to try new things. so why not go to Desi Pizza.
