Good guys and great service. Three guys with a big truck showed up on time. They never stopped even for a min until everything was unloaded. I was also provided with a truck the next day 'free of charge' as I had too much stuff to fit in the truck in one go; I also paid a flat amount of $100 for 2.5 hrs of time they spent the next day. I recommend that you pack your boxes and have a plan in mind before they show up to save time and money.

I called them to move my 2 bedroom apt. They took 4.5 hours to load the truck. The new place was 3.5 miles and they drove there in 10 minutes and then unloaded everything in 1.5 hours. I felt they took 1.5 hour more for loading by doing things very slowly. Since you are paying by hours they rack up the hours and you end up paying more.
After they were done on Saturday, I ended up moving 3 trips by my SUV to finish the job. They didn't even take all my stuff telling me that the truck is full and that they need to make another trip.
I used Desi movers in 2006 and got a very good service. So, this time I called them again. However, after such a bad experience I was wondering how could this happen. I did some investigation and found that the management is new. Although the new owners are very customer friendly, their service is not as good. The old owner (Mr. Prabhakar) now goes by "Bharath Movers". If i need to move again I will definitely go with them as Desi movers is no longer a good option..
The reason I gave 2 star is very pleasant owner, showed up on time (2:00 PM), didn't damage anything (Thank God).. But everything downhill after this.. -

I'm not sure if I have the same movers as the other reviewers.
1. They did not have enough garment boxes,
2. They didn't have even a single extra box even though they were supposed to have boxes available for use at a price. (it's a good thing we were only a couple of boxes short)
3. They refused to pack anything for us. We had only some books, garments and some kitchen stuff that we were told they would pack. They refused and we ended up packing our stuff ourselves and feeling rushed at the last minute.
The movers themselves were diligent, they got our stuff from A to B in a limited amount of time and didn't overcharge for anything.
But in the end they wanted us to hurry up, which didnt' make sense to me, since they were going to be paid for the overtime..
I still think it's a good deal for their charge (hence the 3 stars) but I would pack all my stuff myself, and not wait until the last minute to find out if they are in the mood to pack stuff or not. -

Not happy with this mover at all. First when we talked to the owner, he seemed pretty nice and we thought he gave a good price.. and then it started
- The movers were supposed to come at 11:00 AM and came at 1:15 PM
- They were supposed to get 4 guys, but 2 of them left for lunch for an hour as soon as they arrived!!!!
- One of the guy took a dump in my toilet, threw something in there that blocked the toilet, costed me money to fix.. what a crap. this guy was supposed to come next day to fix the toilet, but never showed up. Thank god I had a backup.
- Made numerous scratch, dent in the old and new house after asking them to be careful several times.. they won't take care of your stuff. what a junk
- The dump guy didn't even show up in the new house..
- Most of the time, they were fighting and cursing at each other than doing real work.
- It took them 7 damn hours and costed me 600 bucks to move a 2 BR house after packing everything nicely in boxes...
I wouldn't use them in the future and don't recommend them. -

The only Desi part of Desi movers is the guy who answers the phone. Rest is all Mexican.
Pros :-
1. Little cheaper then others
2.They know what they are doing - i.e. they have all the correct moving equipment, etc
3. since they were really late they provided one more person for the same charge.
cons :-
1. Were late by 6 hours. we requested them to come by 1 PM, they came at 7.
2.Four Mexican guys did the work, 2 of them cannot speak English.
3. not very professional.
