3 reviews for Desert Princess Country Club
Well, since I own one of those "cottages" (we prefer to call them "villas"...) I feel that I am qualified to rebut a few of AK's comments.
Yes, the course is flat (we have three 9-hole courses..), so you'll wind up playing two of the three if you play a full round.
On some days it can be windy, however, you will find that at a lot of locations throughout the desert. But on a normal spring day the weather is spectacular. We also have a spectacular view of the mountains.
The course is maintained to perfection; I've got the expensive HOA dues to prove it! And it isn't all desert, either. We've got lots of holes that have water. I also have a swimming pool at my place on the third hole, and it serves as an excellent way for me to get free balls from lousy golfers and thus help to keep my costs down.
The price isn't that high either; $100 on weekends and even less during the week and after 1:30 PM.
The "old airstrip" you are referring to is the Palm Springs International Airport, and I doubt that it has anything to do with your shots.
Scientific research has shown that most bad shots are caused by bad golfers, not the wind at the local airstrip.
May I recommend a few lessons at our Pro Shop???

Our club comes here once a year during the hottest time for the weekend. And I still love this place. You must get an early tee time during the summer. Unless you're able to golf in 110 plus heat, some of us can! I love the 9-hole links course, and mix that in with the other courses and you'll have a great day. Usually when we play eighteen, they'll let us play as long as we want. This course is very maintained compared to the other local courses. And yest it gets windy, but isn't that part of golf? Some people just wants a par round given to them. Staff is very courteous, and helpful. And since we usually stay at the Doral, it makes the weekend very enjoyable.

Desert Princess Country Club is attached to the Doral Desert Princess Resort.
27 holes on flat desert. The only challenge of this course (and most courses in Palm Springs) are negotiating between the cottages dot the fairways.
Pretty well maintained, but the price was high and the conditions were windy. Some of the holes border what looked like an old airstrip so your shots are affected by the wind.
