We had big plans to camp on our trip to Zion, but the weather just didn't cooperate (yeah we're wussy and didn't want to camp with rain and lows in the high 20's).

Lucky for us the Desert Pearl had availability for both nights, although we did have to switch rooms.  Both rooms (King and Queen riverside) were gorgeous, modern, clean and nicely appointed.  We slept great on good mattresses and with a nicely quiet heating and cooling unit.  Both our rooms had stone patios that opened up onto a beautiful lawn and the Virgin River.  The views of the cliffs were gorgeous at sunset!

While it isn't cheap, it seemed reasonable for what you get.

I also thought the staff guy was a little snippy-- maybe he hates his job. Anyway, this place is great and I am glad I yelped first or we would be driving around looking at rooms and comparing rates, which I hate to do.

Great store less than a mile away call "Sol" where we got healthy groceries and ate in out room for all our meals. Microwaved potatoes, hummus and pita chips, cereal, pasta salad (the best!) and fresh fruit. Great to be able to eat healthy again, although on vacation  ;).

Utah is not my fav state, but we will return to this place-- Springdale is great, the view is great, and the animal sanctuary was awesome-- my son got to feed baby bison, donkeys, longhorn, elk, and lots of reindeer!

AWSOME! This is a small cozy place with great views of the red mountains. The pool view rooms are great and they are updated with a flat screen tv, dishwasher, and much to much to add. It's totally worth the price! I'll stay here again.

After a few days of camping, hiking, and not always showering at the end of a sweaty day, our one-night stay at the Desert Pearl Inn was heavenly.  Thanks to my boss, who recommends this hotel to anyone she knows is heading towards Zion, we booked our king bed (which comes with a pullout bed/couch) in advance - the hotel was full by the time we arrived so to our disappointment, we were unable to get a second night in.

We loved our room so much that we dropped our ambitious hiking plans for the day to lounge around by the pool, read on the breezy balcony overlooking the river, re-refrigerate our lukewarm bottles of gatorade, and watch the celtics play in the nba finals on the large flat panel tv.

I definitely recommend the Desert Pearl to looking for a place to stay near Zion.

3.5 stars. It didn't quite live up to expectations after all the positive reviews. Yeah, the decor is pretty nice (modern) but it's basically a motel, the pool was overrun with kiddos, and there's not a very convenient breakfast option (the little coffee shop has some grab & go items but nothing that appealed to us). I would describe my experience as underwhelming. As a plus - they do have a laundry facility, which was much appreciated after a lot of hiking.

Perfect in every way--cheap ($143/night for amenities that would run you $400+ in SF), surrounded by the red cliffs of Zion National Park, and a mere mile from it's entrance. To say that everything is walking distance would be a bit silly considering that the whole town has one street about a mile long with great restaurants and coffee houses and shopping within two blocks, but the Desert Pearl really is well situated within all of that.

The hot tub with a nearby little waterfall and a view of the mountains hugging you from every side was deliriously perfect after hiking our arses off every day.

The rooms were decorated with a cool combination of modern metal accents and southeastern tones and wood. Comfy beds with real comforters, a fridge and little sink so you can make a snack if you want, and a great wooden deck. So restorative, my friend and I actually wanted to hang out there between the wedding events we were in town for.

Unless you're camping, I'd say this is the only place in town you should stay.

After a full day of intense hiking, this is the perfect place to come back to for a full night's sleep and relaxation.  Certainly the price is decent for the beautifully furnished interiors, which boast reclaimed railroad trestlewood, a small convenience kitchen perfect for packing lunches, and bathrooms with high-end finishes and fixtures.  Each room is directly accessible from the parking lot, and has a private balcony, or patio that leads to a large green space and outdoor pool and hot tub, making it feel slightly like a private residence.

Situated on the main street through Springdale, a short drive from Zion National Park, there are several restaurants within walking distance.  There is a free shuttle between Springdale and Zion if you'd prefer to not drive.

I have stayed here 3 times, each one wonderful and unforgettable. Very modern decor, these folks were "green" before it was cool, with concrete and recycled open beam construction. Even though they are priced within the range of other hotels in the area, this one is hands-down the nicest, for amenities, location, and comforts. I try to stay here every time I make the pilgrimage from San Diego to Zion NP, but (and this is why its only 4 and not 5 stars), this place is booked solid months and months in advance and they are a little snobby about it. I noticed they are getting a little snippy at the front desk too. It must be some bad tourist karma. Oh well I still love staying here.
