This is a fantastic place to stay for a Disneyland adventure!

We got the kids Yuca suite.  It was the best thing I've ever done for a trip to Disney with the family.  It's got a door to close off the kids, so when they go to bed early, Mama and daddy can still stay up for another hour and watch TV, read, whatever. The bunk beds in the kids room were a serious hit with my kids (6 and 2).  Although the 2 year old stayed in his pack and play, he still like climbing on the bunk beds with his sister.

Staff.  They were very helpful.  Allowed me to park the vehicle in the parking lot at 8am so we could walk to the parks for the day.  After we got settled later that night the front desk called up to see if everything was to our satisfaction.  We needed some extra soap (they only provided one bar) and they sent up two right away.

Breakfast.  It's free.  STarts at 7am (wish it would be earlier since the park opened at 8am) and average.  Sausage, donuts, eggs, waffles, cereal, etc.  Tip:  the coffee and juice cups are like shot glasses.  Bring your own cup, or buy one at the 7 Eleven next door if you're a coffee lover.

The place gets moving (loud) around 7am so if you're looking to sleep in forget about it, but most folks are getting out early for disney so I didn't see this as an issue.

Love the place, next time I come to disney, this is the spot.

ugh! this place is awful! The only positive note is that it is close to Disneyland(walking distance about 4 to 5 blocks) and close to many resturaunts and quick stop shops(ie.e 7/11 quickstop etc)

My husband, his mom, sister, her husband and 2 kids go on an annual trip to Disneyland every year and decided to stay the Deset Palsm Hotel and Suites since it was so close to Disneyland and would be very easy to just walk back to the hotel instead of waiting for a shuttle.

We got there and they gave us the wrong room. We were suppoesd to get a large 2 room suite with a connecting living room. instead we got a small two bedroom room with a connecting bathroom...not ideal for 7 people.  After about 30 minutes of arguing they finally switched us to two rooms that were next to each other.  The rooms were overall nice. They had 2 beds and then stairs leading down to a small living room.

One of the major dissapointments was the temperture! It was so hot and humied throughout the entire hotel! So miserable! and then freezing in the rooms.

they do have a breakfast in the morning(good for kids, not so appetizing for the adults)

all in all. this place is ok. i just don't think i would stay here again

Stayed here for my bday trip to Disneyland with my family and I truly enjoyed it.

GREAT location. Less than a 10 min walk to the Disney Parks and right next to a 711 and an ABC store. Across the street from a cafe, subway, pizza place, Chinese food place, and a Mexican restaurant.

    Super clean!

    Friendly and attentive staff.

Attached to a nice little bar with friendly and knowledgeable bar tenders.

    Fantastic c

First time staying here was decent but second time was a different story. For some reason we were offered the Yuha Kid's Suite that included a king bed and a separate room with a sofa and bunk bed that accommodates up to six people. That was fine. HOWEVER!...finding hair in the bed and bathroom ... AND tissue paper in the toilet grossed me out and ruined my piece of mind.  Luckily I still got a good night's rest as I was drunk when we got back to the hotel that night. Also, the shear amount of SCREAMING kids at the hotel was too much to take.

    * Front desk was nice and helpful.
    * Hallways were gross and hot.
    * Parking is free but can be a pain when they are busy.
    * Continental breakfast is always a plus and it was good.
    * Cleaning staff sucked the second time.

Because I had a good stay the first time, I'll give this place another chance ONLY if they had a deal going on.  Though, I might change my mind as other reviewers were talking about bed bugs. Yikes.

Stayed here three nights during a recent trip to Disneyland.  We were traveling with friends that had stayed here last year, while the hotel was in the middle of their remodeling.  As a "thank you" to our friends for coming back, the hotel upgraded them to a suite.  Because we were tagging along with them, we got lucky and received an upgrade to a suite as well.  SCORE!
The rooms were nice and clean.  All of the staff were very helpful and friendly.    I would definitely stay here again!

It was okay but nothing great. Nice to have a kitchen and the rooms were somewhat nice but the bedroom reeked of vomit.

Breakfast was no big deal..we stayed at Staybridge and I was hoping the breakfast would have been good here to but i was wrong.

Would I stay here again?? Probably not. It is nothing to get excited over.

First time staying here (stayed one night as we were hitting up Disneyland the next day).  Great for the price and location and they offer free parking in their lot - not the largest of lots but we found a spot no problem.  They have recently remodeled so the rooms are nice as is the lobby.  The staff was courteous and friendly.  Only downside was that we checked in late (around 9pm) so I think we got one of the left over rooms (Rm 125 to be exact).  It was a corner room so only one neighbor however it is right next to the stairwell and an exit to the parking lot.  In turn a VERY noisy room.  We were awoken at around 5am by the upstairs tenant walking and showering.  Fell back to sleep to be woken up again around 7am by the maids yelling back and forth to each other and the sound of their carts rolling across the floor (so I'm guessing it's located close to the housekeeping room).  All in all a good experience though as again the price was right, the location to Disney couldn't have been better - literally a 5 min walk, if that!  We would stay here again but not on the 1st floor.

I found this place on Expedia and I picked it because it was one of the reasonably priced places within walking distance to the the parks with a king and bunk beds (Yuha Room). It was clean, convenient, and offered all the amenities that most hotels offer. It is newly remodeled, so it smells so nice.

They have an in house restaurant called "The Sandbox" which has pretty good food, I was surprised by the extensive menu and quality. But to our disappointment on night two we found that it closes at 9! Seriously??? That is hella early! Why wouldn't they stay open at least until the closing crowd comes through. If I owned the place and wanted to make $, one best believe my kitchen is staying open at least an hour after the parks close.  We were hungry and stuck which left us no choice but crappy delivery pizza (see Pizza Plus review...YUCK!)

Honestly, for the price tag I paid I think the room was a tad small and the breakfast was a tad weak. Also, our view was a brick wall. We paid close to $200 a night with all the resort fees and junk and that was after using my $50 Expedia class action law suit credit. So that kind of money at least give me a street view .

Anyway, I would stay here again ONLY if they had a deal price going on. I wouldn't pay what I paid again. This is more like a $90-120 rate hotel in my opinion, hence the 3 stars.

Definitely some pros and cons to staying here, but overall it fulfilled our needs and we'll stay here again when we're in the area (unless one of us wins the lottery and we can afford the Grand Californian ;))
    - Loved that it was within walking distance to Disneyland and that we didn't have any of the noise from the parks.
    - The prices were decent, but fluctuated up to $30/night during our stay. We got in on a Friday and left Wednesday morning, and we paid anywhere from $80 to $116 depending on the day. I've never had a hotel that didn't charge me a set rate for my entire stay.
    - Front desk and cleaning staff are SUPER helpful and nice. I really felt like they were above and beyond in that department.
    - Hallways are ridiculously hot!! What is that about? I thought maybe it was bc we flew in the morning after a huge power outage and the AC had been down, but I read in other reviews that it's common!! How strange.
    - Fitness center is a freaking joke. It looks like a made-over janitorial closet size-wise and the machinery was broken when we were there. Zero free weights or additional exercise equipment.
    - Pool was great, but pretty full so we only spent one evening there.
    - The gift shop deserves a shout out!! Awesome save for those of us who need to buy souvenirs last-minute ;) Very pleasant gentlemen working there.
    - I skipped the breakfast a couple of mornings, too. Smelled like dogfood and everything was so mass-made and obviously some form of instant-breakfast. No thanks.

I could go on (as always ;)) but overall it was a decent place with some quirks, but I'm sure we'll be back.

I just stayed here over the weekend while visiting DL for the first time with holiday themes.  At first I wasn't too impressed from the exterior and wasn't sure how it would turn out because a lot of hotels nearby were book and there was a convention going on, so we were kind of desperate.

Once inside, it was a pleasant surprise.  Everyone at the front desk was friendly and helpful and the whole building looked like it was freshly renovated...you could even SMELL it.  I even got a AAA discount without having to show a membership card (which I didn't have)!

We ended up staying in a King suite which had 2 TVs, what I suspect to be a sleeper sofa in the living room, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, etc.  For the price, it wasn't bad AND it was on the same block as DL.  There's even a 24hr Subway across the street, plus some other more upscale restaurants (PF Changs, Cheesecake Factory, McCormick & Schmicks).

This is a "Good Neighbor" hotel so I wouldn't mind coming back.  It's tailored to more of the convention/business-people type, but is also good enough for adults going to DL.  Normally we try to stay across the street from the main gate, but this will definitely be a good "Plan B" for the future.

Although this hotel seems like an ideal location for many types of visitors, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

My wife reserved a specific suite with the Palms for the night preceding our wedding to use with her bridesmaids.

She had confirmed her reservation with management twice-prior to her stay at the hotel, both times stressing she wanted to keep with the specific room layout she had chosen.

When she arrived at the hotel, they checked her into a different suite than the one she had reserved.

Upon questioning this, she was informed that the suite layout she reserved AND confirmed was fully booked. The only solution they provided her was to choose from a different suite. None of which were suitable for a bridal party of six. No option of a refund was given.

Being in a new city, responsible for 5 other girls, at 10:30 at night, she was forced to stay in an uncomfortable room for everyone the night before her wedding.

Upon speaking with the general manager, nothing was offered but a gruff apology and a 10% discount for a future night's stay.

But why would she or I have any reason to go back?

We ordered this through the Get Away Today corporation.  I'll make this short and sweet.

    1. The "sleeps 6" does sleep six but it doesn't "accommodate" 6.  6 is a REAL stretch.  But even five is a little tight.  And considering the prices for this is overpriced for what you get.
    2. Hallways were hot all the time.
    3. Breakfast was free at just barely worth walking up for...there were days we didn't go up, it just wasn't worth it.
    4. It's in a strange place it's within walking distance but it's a dreadful walk at the end of the night.  But it really isn't a good spot to take the Anaheim system either.
    5. Parking can be a disaster if they are busy.
    6. Front desk staff is very helpful as is the cleaning staff.
    7. The in hotel food place was ridiculously expensive so we passed on that too.  "Happy hour is not defined by those prices."
    8. Wireless worked good here.  This was one of the better wireless services I have had a hotels.  Probably because no one was using it and everyone was at Disneyland or sleeping.

So in short.  I've stayed at about 8 different properties here in Anaheim.  This was probably my least favorite.  I will not go back nor will I recommend this place to friends.

I stayed here right after it opened. The staff was friendly. They were wanting feedback and upgraded us to the suite with a kitchen, living area and room to sleep 6 in each room. It was very nice, classy, quiet, cozy, comfortable, spacious and new. The pool and hot tub were great. There weren't a lot of people there, probably because no one knew it existed at that time.

When we walked in we were in awe at the gorgeous lobby area. Seriously, marble everywhere and very high end looking. There is a grill (that we didn't get to try) and a quiznos in the lobby area as well. The quiznos was good (great service). Parking...well it's a little tight. We had a large SUV that we were told to park in the fire lane behind the hotel because they couldn't fit it in their partially-underground parking garage. Legal?...yuh, probably not, but the space was always free when we came back from the park lol.

Staying in this hotel, I felt very much at home. The prices have obviously been adjusted according to it's value :)

    Summary:
    --free parking
--free, not gross breakfast, though somewhat of a mob scene
--Internet in rooms for a fee
--confusing layout with poor internal signage
    --resort fee

I stayed here two nights solo, while traveling on business, on a Hotwire rate and found it just ok.  Hotwire says 3 stars, which is a stretch.

It had one of the most confusing layouts I've encountered recently with little or no signage.  For instance, trying to find your way to the back parking lot was not all that easy and the exterior door leading out wasn't marked.

Front desk staff helpful, but s-l-o-w.  I travel a lot, so maybe I'm more picky than a family that mainly wants an affordable place close to Disneyland.

Room decor was old and tired, especially the bathrooms.  Ok on a Hotwire or Priceline rate, I suppose, but there are a lot of other hotels near Disneyland that might be better choices.

It's way cheaper than the Disney properties, but not really that great.

It's kind of close to Disneyland, but trust me, it is a HIKE to walk to maingate on a hot summer day.  The window AC unit in the room is way too loud and the beds are not the most comfortable.

It's convenient with the 7-11 located right next door, but trust me, rather than feeling like you are in a "suite" hotel, you are bound to feel like you are in a slightly better "motel"....

Probably won't go back there again  - I think I need to just accept the high prices and go back to the Disneyland Hotel or the Grand Californian Hotel next time...

We stayed here for a convention and I have to say I was really happy with the quality for the price. I do want to point out that if the room says it will fit 5 adults, it lies. The room we had with a king bed and a pull out claimed this and there is no way another adult would have fit unless they were sleeping three to the king.

Great location to the convention center and to Disneyland. It was also quiet, but we were here in January, so that is the off season.

We stayed here because of the location and the price when we went to Disneyland one year. It's less than a 10 minute walk to the park, but the secret is to take the tram. Instead of walking down Harbor towards the entrance, walk down Katella to the Timon parking lot park entrance and take the tram in! Saves you a lot of energy on a hot summer day.

The prices are really decent for the large room we got. It has all your usual amenities, but we were very pleasantly surprised with the large bath tub/spa in the room!

There's a free continental breakfast. We never made it down for it, since we like to sleep, but for all those early birds, there is free breakfast!

It's definitely not as nice as the Disneyland resort hotels, but I would stay here again if we were looking to not spend a lot!

The hotel overall is not that bad but its not your five-star hotel. The lobby is really nice and it provides free-slow wireless internet. The receptionist don't really provide great customer service. The hotel is conveniently located next to a 7-11 with other mini-marts across the street.

-The breakfast is not that great, but its not bad. But hey, its FREE.
-The pool is not as big as it looks like online. (either does the rooms.)
-Really small parking lot (compared to the other hotels around us).
    -Room Service sucks.
-Most receptionist are very nice, friendly, and helpful.
-Heard Sandbox restaurant next door sucks.

We got the family suite (which has two rooms [four beds all together] connected by a double bathroom). This worked well for us because there was six of us. The virtual tour online of this room exaggerated the space in this room. Our room had a fridge and microwave. The room was clean and it provided pretty much everything we needed. Lots of closet space. the room is decent for its price.

We were lucky to have our room on the second floor. We got a view of the pool area. The first floor rooms had no view from their window. They faced the parking lot or the the wall.

The hotel is a family hotel which means theres a lot of vans and large vehicles parked here. but the parking lot itself is pretty small.

They say its close to Disneyland's entrance (walking-distance). But this "TWO BLOCKS" thing ain't the regular two blocks. its like a 15 minute walk to get to downtown Disney. but think about it, after shopping, playing, and eating... that walk backkk is a bitch.

On the third night we stayed, we called for room service for more towels (since there was six of us) so we ran out. So my sister called and the receptionist hung up on my sister. and they never brought up our stuff. So the next morning we called again, and this time they said "they'll see what they can do". STUPID. this is the main reason why their getting a 2 star.

Overall, its ok. I would stay here again if i came with a large group that wanted to stay somewhere better than the regular motels.

Desert Palm Suites is a reasonably-priced place to stay near Disneyland.   At first I was a little disappointed with the room, I have to admit.  While it was clean, some of the furnishings were old-looking.  Design-wise, the room was simple, the bedspreads looked worn and needed updating.  I figured the bed would be uncomfortable.  However, the first night, I slept great--not only was the bed surprisingly comfy, the blanket and sheets were soft and warm so after that, I was able to overlook the boring bedspread and room  ;)

Other pluses-- microwave, fridge, coffeemaker in the room... free continental breakfast  (available 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.) ... The breakfast was pretty good--especially considering it was free-- donuts, variety of breads to toast, bananas, oranges, juices, milk, danishes, coffee.  Parking is free in the hotel garage.  The location is super close to Disneyland.  You can walk or take a shuttle.  The shuttle stop is just on the corner of Katella and S. Harbor.  Not only is the stop easily accessible but it is the first pick-up drop-off spot to and from Disneyland which is great especially after a long day.

There isn't free wi-fi in the rooms (boo) so we paid a daily rate for it however, I guess it was free in the lobby?  Didn't try it out there so I don't know about that.

Other than sleeping we didn't spend much time in the room so while the room was not fancy or anything, honestly, it suited us just fine.    We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn last year and while the room there was prettier, had good coffee, was bigger, had a better shower-- the bed at Desert Palm was way more comfortable and the location was much closer to Disneyland which made it much more convenient for us.  Best of all, I slept well at Desert Palm, woke up refreshed and very ready for a fun-filled day at Disneyland so that made all the difference in the world.

We stayed at the Desert Palms for 5 days while on a family vacation to DisneyLand.  Very impressed.  The hotel was VERY CLEAN, the staff always had smiles on their faces and were very, very helpful.  No request went unanswered.  Their full buffet style breakfast was hearty and plentiful and filled the kids up for their day at the Park.  Pool and pool area were kept very clean, plenty of clean pool towels.  Hot tub was great after a full day of walking!  We would recommend the Desert Palms to anyone.  Great place for families and business people alike.

We stayed here cause the price was good, and for the price we paid, the rooms were just right. It is close to Disney, but that's still a 1/2 mile to the entrance. No biggie, but just in case people were thinking that it's right across the street from the gates on Harbour St. The free parking I guess is standard amongst all other hotels here. The place was clean, and well maintained. We didn't have any issues with anything in the room.

TJ, who checked us was great, he was friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to check us in. Then he followed with a phone call about 15 mins later to make sure everything was alright. Great service.

The continental breakfast was ok. It isn't a full spread, not that you should expect a full spread from "continental breakfast".

My only REAL gripe is with the free internet. Yes, I understand that it's free, but Boingo (the service provider) has throttled the bandwidth so badly that dial-up would have been faster. Seriously, this has got to be addressed, And if Boingo wanted you to pony up to the "premium" service, they could have made it a little cheaper than the $9.99/night. I probably would have upgraded if it were $5.00 or something.

A-OK sums it up.  I got this room on Hotwire and it was only 56 bucks.  They charge you a $7.00 "resort fee".  Basic room with 2 queen beds.  Outdated furniture etc.  For the price it was ok.  If it was $100 a night I would be pissed because of the quality of the room.   10 minute walk to Disneyland and free parking which was awesome.

-less than 10 min walk from disneyland.
-variety of eateries also w/in walking distance
-sports bar right next to lobby...a bit pricey but good for sport fans and the effing blacking martini made with effing vodka is EFFING GOOD!
-price was really good to meet my family needs
i)kalahari suite was able to fit our 8  famly members comfortably (2 bathrooms, 4 queen beds, in two rooms connected through a single hallway with doors to enter/exit either rooms....) really liked the setting
ii)offers a generic continental breakfast (although i recommend if you're choosing a hotel based on the breakfast offered ...dont pick here!)  would you believe i know folks that actually base how they like hotels on their continental breakfast spread...i know just plain weird.
       iii) housekeeping is good.
iv) ugggh...their towels atrocious...pls go with your own
      v) generic toiletries were stinky so again , just take your own soap etc
vi) 7/eleven is right next door, yay for me who kept running out of cigs and do a liquor run after we had enough of bar scene.
vii) has very small pool and a little jacuzzi cute.
viii) close to disneyland...ohhh did i say that already? lol

overall i really liked the hotel and its location and while the room was coo, i was expecting it to be a little more fresher... the decor is very dated.  but if you're taking a huge amount of people to disney, i would def recommend desert palms..

Never, ever, EVER go here. EVER!!!!!! My mom and I went to Disneyland for a special treat, and we considered switching hotels multiple times. We were quite impressed by the lobby, but it ended there. Our sub par room had a lovely view of a seedy-looking side alley. When we wanted to take a shower later that night, we discovered that there was NO CURTAIN. The carpet had mystery stains, and we went to Orlando studios and returned to find not one, but TWO pairs of bloody underwear(one mens and one women's) stuffed behind our TV! In the morning we went upstairs to try their buffet breakfast, hoping it would provide some redemption, but we were disappointed yet again. The food was mediocre, and it was very loud and disorderly. And as I read the four and five star reviews, I notice that they are mostly from the people who stayed in suites. All in all a terrible hotel.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! I put that in all caps as to yell to you to not make the same mistake that we did. Here are the list of complaints and things to think about:
    1) No shuttle-we had to walk a long ways to the gate of Disneyland. The hotel claims that they are close but that is a lie..though the hotel is not far from CA Adventure Land, the Disney gate is actually 2 big blocks down. My father-in-law booked this place as it claimed to be close, but it was within throwing distance from the Red Lion which he thought was far so do not be fooled. Our room overlooked the Tower of Terror but the actual gate to get in is pretty far walking distance
    2) My in-laws had to switch rooms 3 times as the smell in the room was nauseating. The hotel claimed that they had just painted the room. but we joked that it smelled like a dead body had been left to rot. I guess the paint must be cheap. Also, the smell of cleaner permeates the air in a bad way. It smelled like the rugs were being shampooed 24/7. To make matters worse, they did not comp him or give him a discount (well they did for next time but trust me, there will not be a next time).
    3) My room was not that clean. I found toe nail clippings on the floor and had to pick them up as I have an 8 month old that was crawling everywhere and I did not want him eating them.
    4) The breakfast sucked but its free so I guess you get what you pay for.
    5) There is only 1 elevator for the entire hotel and it is always running so do not be in a hurry to get anywhere.
My advice, try the Candy Cane Inn next door as that hotel got great reviews and it has a shuttle that is always running.

Great location but rooms desperately need an update. Free breakfast was a joke. Fooled by the great pictures.

K if you are gonna stay here for Disneyland...which most are, it's fairly close.   There is an opening in the gate a few feet away where you can walk into the Timon parking lot and take the tram to the entrance plaza. It seems as though they have remodeled lately. I have stayed here a few times and it looks newer this time.
My room was clean the first day and every day the maid came in. They maid staff is awesome, I just left a note for an extra pillow and coffee and they did it.
The free breakfast is better than most...they actually have hot food. But it goes fast and it's a madhouse. Good luck finding seats. But not a big deal...hell it's free.
Parking is packed but they accommodate you if there is no parking by parking you at the "no parking" areas. Very nice of them.
I've also stayed at better priced places. This is, however, not high priced by any stretch of the imagination. But there are cheaper.
All in all....a good place to stay. I wouldn't swim...the pool is small, but everything else was to my liking.

It's alright, no major complaints, and if you're staying here its because you want the location and convenience without the cost of the resorts or major chains. It gives you all that, and a decent breakfast buffet that won't kill you. The room was clean enough, and though our window overlooked the back of the 7-11 and its accompanying alley, it served its purpose in giving us a place to sleep and leave our bags. We actually got a suite with another set of friends, and the 2 Queens and foldout sofa was enough space for the 6 of us (including two 2-4 year olds.

Stayed at this place for my family reunion this weekend. It's ok. The room is not the typical set up. It has a sunken in living room. Which is very different. There is a continental breakfast which is ok but not great. The quality if the food is bland. Hey it's free. So so for this place. The price isn't bad at all. 6 people in a room and no extra charge per person is a plus.

I stayed here when  i went to disneyland. my friend and i brought our girlfriends  each at a suite. The suites were great and had plenty of space. the bed room was hugh as well. The free continential breakfast is great. The hote is not from from the park., you can walk there in 10 minutes. The price was not to expensive at all. I'll stay here again.

The hotel staff was really nice and the place was well-kept. We stayed in a 6-person suite with one room, two queen beds, and a sofabed. It was much too big for just Cal and I. I didn't like how the hotel was built around an outdoor pool, but I guess that's what happens when you have limited space.

When I called to book it - they said: "Oh, it's only 5 minute walk to the Disneyland at the most..." Well, don't believe anything they say. In reality it turned out to be a very far walk for us with 3 children - it took us more like 15-20 minutes and we are not a slow walkers... We were so pissed that they don't offer any shuttle. Any hotel around there seems to have one, but not here. We also struggled getting back to the Hotel from Disneyland. The city bus #9 only comes there every 45 minutes - so expect to wait there for a bus for a long time! We had a lot of frustration because of the distance. Another thing - their fridge completely ruined all our foods by freezing it all way too much. All the drinks became a popsicle and our sandwiches ended up in the trash.    I completely regret booking this place instead of something closer - I thought it looked nicer in the lobby - but it turned out to be a bad decision. Look for something closer to Disneyland.
