So, I went here twice about four years ago. Food: mediocre. Service: incredibly bad. I recall the server acted as if he was doing us a special favor, and was very put-out by it all.
Today, I decided I would like to give them another chance. Food: mediocre. Service: friendly this time, at least, but still incredibly bad. Order was all messed up--no soup, no mushrooms on tomato pie as originally requested.
What bothers me most is that the restaurant bills itself as a partner to Matthew's Pizza, a very good and very cool place in downtown Baltimore (in HIGHLANDTOWN, by the way, not Canton as Desantis is so eager to describe it), when in fact the only thing binding these two restaurants together is that Desantis' owner bought the tomato pie recipe from Matthew's owner and made it his own. So they are indeed not family members, not chain restaurants, not even partners in business. Just a purchased recipe, and not even as well done. And Desantis has painted their entire interior with pictures of Matthew's, to make things even weirder.
If you want real pizza, and much better service, just go to Matthew's. In Highlandtown.
