I have only been to the bar here although we did have appetizers. The service was great - we never had to wait for beer and the food came out very quickly. It's a very casual place and everyone was just watching sports on TV and hanging out. We ordered the fried calamari, which were very good, and chicken fingers and cheese bread - nothing exotic but all very nicely presented and good enough to quickly disappear. It was all pretty cheap. I have heard from others that the "real" food here is pretty good, too, so I will have to return to check it out.

I was pretty disappointed in Deplamas. We stopped here for lunch on Saturday after hearing good things about it from friends. The dining room was almost empty (one other table), though we did notice that the bar room was pretty crowded.
The ceasar salad was alright, but nothing special. I had a (half) meatball sub, which tasted ok, but when I cut in to the meatballs they looked like they were processed, not homemade - which I totally wasn't expecting from a small, local Italian place. My bf had the lasagna, which was recommended by our waitress. It wasn't very good either - just not a lot of flavor, the cheese texture was lacking.
The best thing I had was the pasta salad with my sandwich - the most un-Italian thing we ordered.
The atmosphere was weird because there was no music or anything and since we were the only ones there, it was deathly quiet. I always hate that. I imagine it would be better at dinner, busier maybe, but I don't know.
Overall, I'd rather go to Figo, which is right across the street.

I love townie bars. No short supply of wacky regulars with some sort of genetic disorder or other...thanks incest, you did it again! This area is filled with them...with the likes of Hong Li, Mr. C's, Stooges (aka Mr. D's to some) and then there's this place.
DePalma's look is upscale double-wide on one side and low rent trailer park on the other. Where am I?! This joint is 8 Miles from something or other. No frills is right... standard issue Italian grub that does very little to motivate me to pop in a Rocky DVD. I didn't see one Italian in the whole joint, especially in the kitchen...which brings me to da 'ZA.
Large cheez pie. I looked at it. For a second, I thought I was at Papa John's next door. This thing was baked on an aerated 'ZA pan. No char, No crisp. No rise on the crust. Just cute little dimples on the bottom. Incredibly bland sauce, ketchup has more zest. Heavy on the low rent mozza cheez. No true, self-respecting guido would pass this thing off as 'ZA.
Did DePalma just give me a hand job? Yup, with a big fat greezy palm. The grease factor was spotty...some slices were soaked with grease, while others were congealed with cheez which made it impossible to fold. If the pizza is this bad, I can only image the rest of the menu.
Robert M. would have a field day on this 'ZA.
Arrivederci! ...or is that "I rather eat dirt, cheap!"?

This is the kind of "Mom & Pop" pizza joint I remebr as a kid growing up in my home town in Upstate New York. Family run, simple food, no frills. Try the pizza here it is excellent. They have a bar as well.
