Came here after Self Edge said that it would take a full month for repairs to my 3sixteens. They said come here.

Met Jesse who quoted me a more than reasonable price for a rush. My jeans have a small hole in the crotch and there was a lot of wear going on and I didn't want a blow out during my holiday party.

One day later they are all set! Great service from these guys. Highly recommended.

I've been here twice to have some pants hemmed and I'm super glad they're close-by me now.

Just recently got into raw denim and, of course, whatever I get, the inseam is going to be wayyy too long for me.

Found Denim Doctors and am completely satisfied with the work performed on my pants. Granted, I came for the chain stitch hem job, but anything denim related, they would be the first people I call.

I've gone to them twice now. The first time, I thought my favorite jeans weren't salvageable because the area around one hole was too thin. They just reinforced it and sewed it up. You can't even tell where the hole was. This last time, Jesse actually tried discouraging me from getting them fixed, because the damage warranted a hefty price.

They're pretty fast but I'd advise asking the turnover rate before handing your jeans over. They were pretty backed up recently. Luckily for me, this really hasn't been a jeans-friendly summer.

I skateboard for a living so jeans are my life blood. I've had jeans repaired at many places throughout greater LA, some good some bad. I found this place by chance and looked them up on Yelp. Everything seemed cool. I went in with a bunch of jeans and after hearing the price rundown I decided to let them just do one pair. It was super expensive for just one repair....to be honest they had suggested that some of the pairs might be better served at a normal tailor who would do it cheaper(I should have listened). They quoted me at about a week and a half. I called a couple times over the next few weeks and they weren't ready. I left the country for two weeks and came back, expecting them to be ready. They weren't, but the guy assured me they would that week. They were ready later that week, but no discount was offered or anything. It had been 5 weeks. I don't like this spot.

After another long delay, I was able to bring another pair of denim that needed to be taken in*. I was driving down on Beverly and stopped in my tracks to see a completely different shop in the place where Denim Doctor's once stood. I checked twice to see if I was on the correct block (ironically, Prive Salon/Ona Spa on the same block also closed down) and I was. Before freaking out, I remembered I had their # saved so I called and was grateful to hear the answering service state their new address over on Adams Blvd.

Heading on over, it's in a completely different part of Los Angeles, and I'm glad there were store-front photos on this site, as I would have driven right past. Although Adam and Jason are no longer there, thank God Jesse still is. Quickly and accurately, he asked questions on what I needed and was able to measure me up. They did a fantastic job on my other pants in addition to my trench coat, so I'm looking forward to seeing this finished project!

It's been quite a while since I've needed their services, but I'm relieved to say I've re-found Denim Doctors (no longer of Hollywood, but of Los Angeles).

Parked on Somerset, right on the corner there.

*Why I buy pants that don't fit, who knows, but at least I have a great place to take them to.

EDIT: Jesse is the Denim Jesus. Pants are perfect. Now I need to stay the same weight to wear these, which has nothing to do with Denim Doctors.

After searching for LA for a good place to repair jeans, I am glad I found Denim Doctors. I only have a few pairs of raw denim jeans for the last few years. One pair I like the most started to get blowouts and the pockets were wearing down. So I brought them in and in three shorts weeks I pick them up and they look as if nothing ever happen to them. I haven't had time to browse much of the store but anticipate doing so in the near future. I do know I will only bring my jeans to here to get repaired because they did a top notch job and the staff is very knowledgeable and great to deal with.  I really wish I had a before and after picture to show how great the detail is but will have to wait till my next pair.

Jesse is so good.  He does quality work at a fair price. He's truly a craftsman.  He did an amazing job tapering the legs on new my raw denims, leaving the original stitching and seams. I will definitely be bringing more jeans here to get worked on. Highly recommended.

I took 2 pairs of pants to these guys for alteration - The lower legs were too wide and I wanted them to have more of a "skinny" cut.

Jason was very helpful and I'm completely satisfied with the results. He even stayed open a few minutes late for me, so that I could pick them up after 7.

Wonderful people who even when sick will come into get the job done. Very important tip... If you're in the middle of gaining or losing weight, you need to take into consideration: extra weight makes things shorter and losing weight of course makes things longer. Also... They love when you bring the shoes you will be wearing with the item. Common sense. Love these guys to death!!!

    Big fan of these guys!

On a whim I brought in piles of pants (jeans, khakis and even a pair of cargos) that I had written off as not being a right fit for me. A week later I got a call saying they were ready. Today, I have a brand new wardrobe.

My girlfriend says the Denim Doctors gave me a butt. Cheaper than hitting a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon.

    5 stars.

I came in with some A.P.C.'s that used to fit me before I lost some weight. I was about to give up and get a new pair but one of my friends referred me to this place so I decided to give it a shot. He tapered and took in the waist and I swear they fit me like a glove now. Very pleased, I recommend Denim Doctors wholeheartedly!

Excellent work on two pairs of Gustin raws; chain stitch hemmed. Even added subtle red accent on the exterior like the original design. Highly recommended shop- perfect length (& stacks).

I count Denim Doctors among the handful of rare Los Angeles treasures that make me proud to live where I do. Incredible craftsmanship, kind down-to-earth service, and a sense of specialization and pride you can't find anywhere else. There's a reason even high end jean shops like Diesel will refer a ripped pair of torn jeans to DD before recommending a replacement purchase. And there's a reason that when you're in Denim Doctors, you see customers who've been coming there for years and years. Save yourself the trouble and the cash of constantly replacing jeans for crotch and knee tears. Oh...and a tip: bring your jeans in when you first notice the rip, not after it expands. It's cheaper and easier for both parties that way.

I used to bring my prized denim to be hemmed and originally stitched at the denim tailor inside of American Rag (where I buy my pairs) but they are no longer around. I've known about the Denim Doctors for a while now and I've read the reviews & was even urged to go there by the lady at American Rag who did all my jeans, if she was not available.

I just bought a pair of raw selvedge Levi's at American Rag (of course) and decided to bring in another pair I've had for a while but never got around to being hemmed. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon. Was greeted by a gentleman & a lady and was told to try on my jeans so we could get an accurate measurement. Kendall, I believe, was her name and she was quite helpful in her suggestions and advice on hemming the individual pairs. I was quite hesitant to cut the older pair as short as she suggested (i even went back to try them on again) but I relented and agreed. The brand new pair she suggested not to cut as short because she wanted to leave room for them to shrink when and if I eventually wash them. I totally didnt even think about that but I'm glad she had the knowledge and the foresight to bring it up and so did the gentleman that was also working there (manager?). In fact he asked if they were shrink to fit and we looked and the tab and they were. Reason being he had vintage pairs of Levi's upon Levi's that were no longer the inseam length they were made at after all these years and washes. I appreciated the knowledge.

They charge up front & it's $25 for each pair of denim to be hemmed with original chain stitching. I got a call within less than a week from when I dropped them off.  It was Thursday to be exact and was told they were ready. When I picked them up I was anxious and wanted to try them on again when I got to the store. The older pair looked so much shorter than I thought they were gonna be. I was freaking out. I tried them on & they were just right. I knew I'd had them for a while and had just worn them long (literally) so it took some getting used to seeing the new length. I purposefully rocked shoes I often wore with these jeans to get an accurate look. Not that it would've mattered right? If they were way too short, there was no going back & I knew that... The brand new raw selvedge pair I brought looked great after being hemmed. The original Levi's chain stitching was expertly duplicated and color matched. I was happy with the outcome even though I was freaked out initially. HAHA... Thank you to Kendall for helping me out and not let me wear my jeans sloppily bunched up at the bottom anymore. Ha! I fully recommend Denim Doctors for your cut & repair jobs. They have lots of vintage & brand new high-quality denim clothing in the store as well. They are definitely the experts and I'm glad I finally went. I've found a new place to trust my prized denim with. Whew!

A few years ago I went and did something stupid/never thought I would do in my life: spend over a hundred on a pair of jeans. Even as a petite size, I still had to get them hemmed, and sadly, it took me this long to do so.

I read through the reviews on yelp for denim alterations and finally decided to put my good pair of denim in their hands.

Denim Doctors have always had the right remedy for any garment maladies one might encounter in this rough and tumble world of ours. Simply old and worn out or snagged and torn by the misbehaving door knob Denim Doctors are the dons of damage control when it comes to my clothes!

I needed my Hudson jeans hemmed by about 6 inches. Read the great reviews on yelp and took a chance. They're worth it. The only thing is Jesse said my jeans would be ready the next day. They weren't.  5 days in total. Which wasn't a big deal to me. I wasn't in dire need of my jeans but I am a stickler for integrity and believe word is bond kind of thing. But I'd rather have it right than have it rushed. The seam is exactly like the seams on my jeans and the hem is consistent. I'd go back.

Really like this shop and the people who run it. They preserve lots of original detail when altering jeans, including natural wear patterns, stitching style at the hem, etc., and they've had my stuff done in under 24 hours -- way faster than I expected. Jesse's a good dude and dealing with them is a pleasure. Definitely recommended.
