Denim and Knits follow the trend of the sample sale. Designer fashions for less, you're supposed to get your celeb and rockstar wear for a dime. I was really excited to hear about another jean sample sale especially since it is located right next door to Century 21 and I have had great luck at The Denim Warehouse.
This is a permanent location for Denim and Knits. I walked in and was amazed. The place looked like a boutique. No boxes of crumpled clothes to dig through, no one size only, no chaos present whatsoever. The store was clean, orderly and had two individual dressing rooms with curtains! Finally a sample sale where you don't have to get naked in front of the world.
The jeans here are super small. Do you have a size 22 waist? Also, I noticed the prices were all in the range from $70-$130. If these are samples, I would not pay $130. The jeans could be irregular, have bad dye jobs, loose stitching, etc. For $130 you can go next door and buy an approved piece of designer clothing for that price. Denim and Knits also have tank tops and shirts. The mens clothes line one wall. The sample sale is relatively small. I was in and out of there in 5 minutes. It just wasn't for me. Things were not worth trying on or even taking a second look at. There was plenty of dark denim and skinny jeans. Unless you are a loyal brand follower, I saw nothing special about these jeans.
If you are looking for a great pair of jeans you may as well hit up the stores in Soho, Macy's, The Jean Bar in Brooklyn, or if The Denim Warehouse is ever in town that is the place to go.
