Delphinium is a much-needed and handy store to have in this neighborhood. It's relatively inexpensive and has something for everyone. We picked up picture frames for my sister and my parents at Hanukkah time, a rubber duck for my nephew and I was eyeing a shower curtain and a cool clock for myself. It is small but very eclectic, which I find to be a real time-saver when I shop. It's easy to take care of multiple gift needs here for a wide variety of people and still have a good time yourself. There is a tiny sale section in the back with things like candleholders, margarita glasses, salad bowls, etc. Thymes Products, Burts Bees, numerous tschotschkes...it's a gifty paradise.
My nephew somehow never got the duck, though...

Delphinium Home is very small but very cool boutique in Hell's Kitchen that offers a truly unique selection of home decor. I live in a small 1-bedroom apartment and I'm buying an even smaller 1-bedroom co-op, so I needed some unique space-saver items and DH definitely has those-I shopped for close to two hours! They are on the pricier end at times, but they offer everything from unique shower curtains and window treatments to sink stuff to glassware to candles to the office, kitchen, bath and beyond...but there isn't much "bed"-no room for it really. But if you need some cool home items and you don't want to have to hit the big chains, DH is truly the way to go! Also try the Delphinium card and gift store-also very cool.

No cell phones allowed but a very cute place to buy gifts for anyone. They have lots of candles and kitchen do-dads.
I walked in to grab a present for my sister and was on the phone asking her what color she wanted when I was told no cell phones allowed in the store. What kind of store doesn't allow you to talk on the phone??? Especially when you are trying to find a gift for someone!! So I like this place but now I am a little bitter about my experience there... that is why they only get three stars.
This longtime Hell's Kitchen card boutique was one of the first retails stores to bring some fun and style to the neighborhood. With the addition of Delphinium home, they brought some extra decor looks to 9th ave as well. Great shop for hostess gifts, cards, quick upgrades to your apartment with scented candles, trendy bathroom accessories, etc.
Gotta love the gays for super-fabulous taste. I love this place. A lot. Interesting, well, though-out decorations, mostly for kitchen and bathroom. But I echo that it's GREAT for gifts, and any decorating ideas you might have. The staff is wonderful, and loves to chat. My only complaint is it's a tad small and a tad pricey.
One of the best treats on hip 9th Avenue...perfect for shower, housewarming or fun birthday gifts. Everything from rubber duckies to unique pottery to WASP cookbooks.
I've always wanted to decorate my bathroom from the quirky items they sell here. Fun window displays.
Lovely choices for gifts and self... the staff is spot-on with suggestions, super friendly and will actually tell you where to find it if they can't get it for you. This is one classy joint. The eye candy's great too!
