I like this place. I had gone by the store a million times in the past and admired the cute shoes and handbags but had not bought any thing. Recently though, on one of those really randomly hot days in San Francisco, I was craving some shoes that would let my feet breath while simultaneously allow me to show off my pedicure.
I found these adorable red Faryl Robin sandals. I got tons of compliments for them and I found myself wearing them all the time. I could dress them up with a skirt or where them with jeans. One night, however, I found that a stitch in the sandal had broken off and some part of the shoe started to scrape my foot!
Since I paid a fairly pretty penny for these shoes I didn't want to just be stuck with some half broken, albeit super cute shoes; I decided to email Amy Boe myself.
Amy was super nice and said that she was really sorry that this had happened to my shoes and that I could bring them in for another pair or she would see to it that my current pair get fixed.
Today I went in and she was there. As promised, she gave me a brand new pair no questions asked. I feel lucky that she is in my neighborhood and I will be coming back.
I am looking forward to her $20 sidewalk sale on June 15th where she promises tons of shoes sold at $20 each!
At first glance, Delirious looks like a kitschy quaint little shoe store, which is pretty much exactly what it is. That said, there stands a good chance you'll find a cool new pair of sneakers or slippers, male or female, depending on your taste and/or disposition.
Most recently, yours truly picked up a pair of Royal Elastic tan stretch slippers, and they are perfect for wearing around the house, or just lounging around in while having brunch at a local breakfast joint. They sort of look and feel like gauze bandages with a sole, if that helps.
Also offered are accessories and pieces of flair to accentuate your new kicks, from wallets and purses to handmade jewelry. Keep it real, and keep it fresh.
Very small shoe store with friendly staff (presumably the owner).
Since there's very little shopping at 18th & Connecticut (for now...just wait) this store is either:
1. Way ahead of its time
2. A mob front for money laundering
3. Some rich guy's tax write-off to get his wife/daughter out of the house
I think when I threw my ex out and she left Potrero, their business declined by a third. But they're nice and have some cute stuff in the window, so I'll encourage my next ex-girlfriend (I'm currently interviewing for the position) to shop here. I like supporting Potrero businesses.
Helpful salespeople and totally cute shoes/handbags. I have a purse from there that I absolutely love. They have pretty awesome sales (50% off) from time to time so you can get a great deal. Otherwise, the prices are pretty reasonable. It has sort of weird hours (like it's not opened on the weekends much from my experience), but I'd definitely recommend you take a look if you're in the neighborhood.
This store gets a lot of stars for doing what it does with the little space they've got. Men's and women's shoes, purses, wallets, clutches in sassy colors and materials. Their selection is not "playing it safe" and that's fantastic.
If you stop in, you should get on the mailing list, because their sales are unbelievable. I've walked out with a steal every time.
A small place but when they post their sales, I go. She has a great selection of the latest shoes for women and men. Found some really great boots during the winter shoe sale and I was thankful (for it rained 40 days & nights & then some).
I'm going to enjoy my trek there this weekend to see what spring shoes & handbags she will have.
This place is closed - went out of business.
I love this store! Sexy boots and shoes that are comfortable, too. I like Gentle Soles - the Bente in Bridge caught my eye and I had to have them after trying them on. (After all, I did not have a pair of brown pumps...) Good toe box area, padded, and very comfy with extra room for a thick forefoot pad. Nice red stitching. Interesting black stack heel.
I also have Gentle Soles Bayden in Peat because an eight year old girl with delightful taste picked out some for her mother at , and I had to have them, too. Gorgeous mossy green suede zip boot that fits snugly through the calf (at least mine) and is roomy in the toe box (that is Gentle Souls for you!). Black stacked heel like the Bente. I feel like a deer prancing...need to waterproof before the winter rains come.
Update: Gentle Soles has been taken over and the shoes are not so interesting anymore...however, a new star has risen in the shoe sky: Farylrobin. I just picked up the cutest black heels with old gold accents around the edge and that interesting curvy wooden heel (narrow at the top and bottom and fat in the middle...) Damn sexy. Holiday parties here I come!
This place has a lot of hip different shoes. They are high quality and fabulous looking!! The assortment of accessories accent the fab shoes. In addition to fabulous women's shoes they have sophisticated men's shoes. In addition the staff is very freindly.
Its a great shop for the neighbourhood. The only place that sells accessories that you might want to buy in Portero...as far as I know.
Its very much a neighbourhood store but its cute with a good selection of some quirky shoes and bags....and its very affordable. And the owner's great, very friendly and helpful.
Gets the thumbs up from me.
The shoes here aren't very stylish and in my opinion, overpriced . They sell some wrislets too for pretty cheap .. around $40 but they're nothing special-looking .
They have a great selection of Royal Elastics here, and I'm such a Royal Elastic brand whore. I either do my shoe shopping here or at the amazing shoe stores on Hayes and Haight, but Delirious seems to have better sales (my last pair of RE's only cost 30 bucks!) and the saleswoman (owner?) there does not seem to have the "I'm so much cooler than you" attitude that some of the salespeople on Hayes have and none of the annoying B&T that seems to plague shopping experiences on Haight.
Cute selection of shoes + handbags (my favorite line --Dutchy handbags carried here).
My husband and I both got new shoes here this past weekend.
Baci gold heels for me (around $80) and some tennis-shoe looking thing for him (around the same price).
There's a good range of prices too and a great location!
Cute shoe store- I love the annual boot sale. There is a limited selection, but it is well-chosen.
Cute collection of both casual & trendy shoes. Got a great pair of Royal Elastics there. The shop is very small though, so the limited selection makes it a to-visit only if you're in the neighborhood.
seriously: 18th street in potrero has everything you need. chinese food. pizza. indie video store. wine shop. and shoes and handbags at delirious.
for a girl, i'm actually not *that* into shoes. but i've gotten a few pairs here and they're incredibly unique and all get compliments almost every time i wear them.
and get this: my next door neighbor, dan, is adorable and charming but the furthest thing from a hipster you can imagine. the other day i ran into him and i was like "dan! you look fantastically hip!" he pointed to his shoes and said "the place on 18th." i mean, if they can make dan look hip...
Okay boutique store, a good place to kill some time if in the neighborhood before your din-din reservation. Very small, but the staff-chickie is friendly and helpful. There was a huge shoe sale going on, but I didnt see anything I wanted to buy. My friend tried on a pair of boots, but they were ill-fitting. Good purse selection.
Deliriously happy with great sneaker purchase that they stayed open to let us nab. Adorable accessories/both sex shoe store surrounded by a delightful assortment of restaurants and food/drink options -perfect since you won't have to worry about your bloated stomach just trying on shoes and looking at handbags :)
Such a cute shoe store in the neighborhood and I was curious to check out when walking in the area. However, the shoe collection were a lil more on the funky side. Different brands such as Lisa Nading, Diverse, NaNa, Franco Sarto and Gentle Souls.
I was a little bit late to the $20 sale on June 15 and still managed to find lots to buy. I have so many fun shoes in my closet that came from this little neighborhood gem! Quality merchandise here for girls and guys and a quirky hip selection that will have you coming back to see what's new and what's on sale. Owner Amy is friendly and funny and knows her footwear and accessories. So much more fun than shopping for shoes at Nordstrom.
after my boyfriend and i broke up, i'd walk up the hill with my dog to this store and try (OK, buy) every pair of shoes in the joint. the boy, and even more sadly, the dog, are gone but i have a ridiculous amount of gorgeous shoes thanks to Delirious! so many people have complimented on my unique and sassy delirious shoes. Amy has amazing taste and always lets me in on when her new shipment arrives. this place is like crack to me!
the handbug selection is off the beaten path, feminine with a tough girl edge yet never trendy. awesome selection of comfy slip on sneakers. they have some great sales and are super helpful when choosing gifts for friends- just tell them who you are buying for, what their style is, what they don't like and they can steer you in the perfect direction. the store is cozy, go late in the afternoon when the setting sun is streaking through the windows and you'll feel like you are in a friend's living room...big plus- Goat Hill Pizza is across the street to grab pizza and beer after and check out your gear.
