Delhi Club serves fresh, spicy and delicious food.
We started with the naan. It was served piping hot, fresh and lightly crispy. Then we were brought keema samosas ($4), two of them, filled with savory ground lamb. Crispy and hot, they were slightly greasy but were tasty.
Soon after we were finished with them, we were brought the Chicken Chettinad ($12.50): chicken cooked with fresh tomatoes, whole peppercorn, and curry leaves. The chicken was tender; and the curry sauce was spicy enough to draw a bead of sweat on my brow. I loved it, though! The sauce was a beautiful saffron-yellow and was very good. I really liked this dish. The portion size was ample for two people.
Service was fast-and-friendly. We were seated right away - although on a Tuesday night, the place was 75% full. Our food was brought quickly, but not so quickly that we were rushed through the courses.
For less than $20, we enjoyed a perfectly-portioned dinner for two.
I highly recommend.

I loved the appetizer we ordered. My shrimp dinner tasted good too. The service was great since our server was extremely patient since 1/2 of our party didn't arrive until an hour later. Luckily we didn't get kicked out.
This is my favorite Indian restaurant in Arlington. Tandoori Nights is better for atmosphere and presentation, and Delhi Dhaba is better for a quick meal, but for quality of the food, I like Delhi Club the best.
I like eating here with a companion, and eating family style. I always want to order my favorite, the Chicken Chettinad. I also like variety, so eating family style gives me the best of both worlds.
I've eaten more than half of the items on the list, and haven't been disappointed with anything yet. Try a samosa for an appetizer! I find their items to be spicier than the other two Indian restaurants I mentioned above, but still not as spicy as I've had elsewhere. It is a good heat.
Service is always friendly and professional. Unlike many places in America, they typically will not bring you your check until you ask for it. If you tell them you are done eating, but don't ask for the check, they will leave you alone indefinitely (returning only to fill your water glass if needed). I like this, but some find it frustrating. Simply be sure to ask for your check when you would like it.
One final nitpick--they serve red wine in tiny but thick glasses. Really the worst combination to properly appreciate red wine. If you want wine, you may want to keep this in mind before ordering the more expensive ones on the menu!

I admit, I am severely addicted to Indian food. I have several places in the rotation that are favorites of mine (Minerva, Mayuri and Haandi to name a few), and Delhi Club will certainly be added to the rotation. It's a very small dining room, but its nicely decorated and has a more upscale feel than a lot of the other places I've been to. Prices are standard, and the quality of the food is right in line with them. My boyfriend and I went on a weeknight, right around 7:30, and we were at first the only two in the restaurant, although it started to fill up after we were there. The service was attentive but not overbearing. My only complaint is I feel the menu is slightly sparse, and while it offers most of the most well-known items, there isn't a lot of variety, or new and innovative dishes.
We ordered three dishes to share - Lamb Vindaloo, Chicken Pista Korma, and Dal Makhani, along with Naan on the side. The vindaloo was possibly the spiciest I have been served in this area, which is a good thing for me. The pista korma also had a nice heat level to it - I've never had this particular dish before and think it might be a house specialty. It was absolutely delicious and one of the reasons I'm sure I'll be back to eat here again. The Dal Makhani was ok, nothing to write home about and some of the lentils felt slightly undercooked. The naan was perfect, and they did bring us an extra bowl of white rice mid-way through our meal. I also had a mango lassi that was thick, creamy and wonderful.
Came here on a Friday night with a party of 6. Well, we told the guy at the door that there would be 6 of us. 1 hour 30 minutes later, we were still waiting for one person. The servers were kind enough to let us sit at our table for 6, order apps and drinks while we waited for everyone before ordering dinner. They won big points for that. Even refilled our water.
Naan was hot and I highly recommend the Paneer Makhni. A spiced, but not spicey, tomato sauce with cheese. As we say in RI, this place has "good stuff cheap." It's my new standby Indian place.

We went to Delhi Club for dinner tonight. Because our daughter joined us, we were able to try three, instead of our usual two, dishes. We tried not to duplicate the types of dishes and, since the food was served family style, we were all able to get more than just a taste of each dish.
We had Rashmi Kabob. This charcoal grilled chicken was moist, tender and had picked up just the right amount of spice. There were four chicken breast halves served with onion and red pepper slices on a bed of shredded lettuce.
We also had Lamb Saag Gosht. Here succulent pieces of tender lamb were cooked in a creamy spinach with just a hint of ginger. This dish has just a bit of heat and would be a wonderful meal for someone who likes full flavor but not overbearing heat as well as someone just starting to enjoy Indian food.
Our third dish was Vegetable Biryani. The menu lists several types of biryani but we wanted to try the vegetable one as we already had one dish with lamb and another dish with chicken. We were not disappointed. The herb-flavored rice was delicious and was seasoned with nuts, raisins, and caramelized onions. It included peas, carrots, lima beans, and broccoli pieces.
When our dinner arrived, the main courses were put in the middle of the table and we each received our plate with a helping of fluffy white rice on it. Midway through the meal we were asked if any of us wanted more rice, a nice touch. We also had ordered the Garlic Naan. This variation on the standard tandori cooked bread was outstanding.
Located in the heart of Clarendon, just across the street from the Metro stop, this restaurant would be a great way to start an evening in Arlington.

The Delhi Club is great for the weekend brunch! Ten dollars everything. I try something new every time. The brunch spread always includes fresh fruits and vegetables, multiple curries, chicken (grilled, tandoori), an authentic Indian desert (had this great carrot pudding), vegetable dishes, different types of rice, and condiments. You can eat for the whole day.
Never had to wait for seating. Conviently located right across from the Clarendon metro. Last time they were out of mango lassi, but have heard that they are half price at brunch. We even brought an expired coupon and they honored it. Great for a quick, calm, and filling meal on the weekend.

I always walk by here on my way to the metro, but never gave it much thought. I found the food here to be very good, and with plenty of portions. The Onion Kulcha naan is amazing! My entree, Malai Jhinga was very good, especially since I'm not a big spicy food person. The Malai had just enough kick in spice. I found no problems with the service. Our waiter was prompt and friendly.

This place doesn't break any new ground with Indian cuisine, but the food is reliable, reasonably priced, and pretty tasty. The rogan josh and the cheese nan were especially good. The service was pretty good too. My water was refilled almost the moment I emptied the glass. I'm not especially qualified to judge the authenticity of Indian food, but I left this place pretty happy. If you've got a craving for Indian food and you find yourself in Arlington, you can't go wrong with Delhi Club.

This is what I love at this place that blows me away
The lamb curry Rogan Josh. One of the best versions in the area perhaps a little creamy and ignore the little oil slick, it is full of flavor, just sop it up with your roti bread ( ask for your roti to be without butter)
The tandoori platter an Indian ' mixed Grill' is a great bargain for around 18 bucks and enough for two.
The appetizers are so substantial, order a couple with a bread and you have more than enough for a meal. The seekh kabab, chicken wings and the fish fry are definitely tasty bargains, great washed down with some chilled kingfisher beer. The wine list is short but has some interesting selections.
The saag paneer is our family fave. the spinach is so silken with generous cubes of Indian cottage cheese.
The place can appear a bit cramped but in the end, its all about the food.

I'm happy this little hole-in-the wall has stuck around for a while. We first tried this place in September 2004 when I was in the US to give birth. And then, when we returned to Clarendon, I was surprised to find that it was still open for business because it's a competitive restaurant market and I wasn't sure Indian would stick. We last dined there, with the same friends, back in April, but the food was the same: good, mouthwatering Indian. I'm a sucker for the tikka masala and the naan. The vegetarian dishes tasted amazing, and the kitchen will vary its dishes to your taste. And did I mention it's reasonably priced?
Delhi Club is across from Clarendon metro, so give it a try, if you get home from work and don't feel like cooking.

I had dinner here with a friend who loves Indian food as much as I do. I had high hopes for it as I read good reviews in various sources and the prices seemed right for a quick middle of the week dinner with a girlfriend. Unfortunately, the service was not that great.....disinterested waiter even though we were the only people in the restaurant. The food was what I would expect to pull out of a box or can with "Indian inspired" cuisine, not a restaurant that gets good reviews by food critics. So needless to say we were disappointed and not interested in ever returning.
The only saving grace were the appetizer samosas...which were not the best I had but alright. The chickpeas I ordered and dhal that my friend ordered were a poor excuse for food. I could have basically had the same main course if I had bought a can of chickpeas and dumped some ketchup on it.

Butter and cheese Naan bread. What ever it is called, it was damn good. I haven't consumed enough Indian food to make a critical analysis of the rest of the food. However, I wasn't disappointed. I would certainly go back.
My friend Ryan said if we get into the restaurant by around 7:00 pm, there would be no wait. Sure enough, there were plenty of seats. By 7:30, it was standing room only. I hope this time-hint does not kill my chances to avoid the line in the future. If it does I will curse all of you under my breath while I smolder in line.
My one complaint was that the restaurant had a funny smell. I know that other Indian restaurants smell like Indian food, but this smell was different. The next time I return, I will check for the smell.

Ditto on the cottage cheese naan bread. It's excellent! Butter chicken is really awesome too. Neat little restaurant with outdoor seating when the weather is good.
They had some problems with the drinks on my visit. Some of my dinner companions ordered ginger ales that lacked both ginger or any real flavor to it. Maybe the flavor syrup stock was low... Who knows? Will check again next time.

You can imagine my hesitation to eat here for the first time. I already had SEVERAL favorite Indian locales that I frequented. What a conundrum. When a craving strikes it would only serve to make the selection process more difficult, but love of Indian food prevailed and I checked it out with a couple girlfriends one evening for dinner. The interior is small, very few tables and a strange system for keeping people in wait as they look for a table for you. Luckily we got a nice table outside and since the night was cool, the HOT food tasted great. We ordered a bunch of apps and dishes to share (our wee-small table was loaded!). Do try: the Samosa, Spinach Pakoda, Butter Chicken, Vindaloo, Malabar Curry and Chana Masala. Now, just to add to the options list yet again, I'm dying to try Tandoori Nights.

Good but relatively boring place in Clarendon. It's a decent neighborhood place for those live within walking distance, but not worth a trek across town. Moderate prices. Not as cheap as Delhi Dhaba but better and worth the cost difference.
Now that Tandoori Nights is open just a few blocks away, don't waste your time on Delhi Club... for about the same price, you'll have a much better experience.

I like this place, yea I've only been once, but it was really good food. It was my first time with Indian, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. For those who are daring to try new foods, go here. You really cannot go wrong; no matter what your tastebuds can handle, there is a large variety of food. The people are really nice and service is decent. My only complaint is that my coat smelled for several days afterI left.

We had the weekend buffet this past weekend. It was incredible. For $10, it was all you can eat. This place is truly a gem. The curries were all extremely authentic and conveyed separate, distinct tastes to my picky palate. Even the standard tandoori chicken was great. The naan was awesome, as well. Try the butter chicken; it's wonderful.
Impeccable service, too--an ever-full glass of cold water and Coke meant I could wash down some of the "spicier" culinary goods reliably and efficiently, to preserve my bland, provincial, American mouth for another plate.
