Del Taco is the bomb. This is probably some of the only mexican food that doesn't make me sick after eating it.

They even have hamburgers!! Their crinkle cut fries taste REALLY good especially with like a pound o salt on em.

The fish tacos come with a lime which is awesome.

Wasn't a huge fan of their chocolate chip milkshake but doesn't change my opinion about this place. Also this place is 24 hours!! A+

"Taco Tuesdays" - 3 tacos for a little over $1, buy around 9-12 tacos, have your friends buy 9-12 tacos each, grab a ton of El Scorcho sauce, eat them up with Coronas, and you have yourself an authentic mexican party. All you need now is a piƱata the shape of a taco and fill that up with the remaining El Scorcho sauce to prank your friends.

This place is way better than eating at Taco Bell. I don't usually like to eat fast food but whenever I need something quick I come here. Sucks that they have one location and they aren't open late for those late night cravings of tacos. Oh well.

4 stars solely based on the "El Scorcho" sauce.  I love that stuff on my tacos.

I have never gotten anything outside of the Macho Taco nor to I ever plan to.  Not a fast food person at all, but when I am craving a crunchy taco (which for some odd reason is hard to find around here) Del Taco is my spot.

They now how Del Enferno sauce that I can't wait to try!

This place ROCKS!!!!  It is so much better than Taco Bell.  It's amazing.  Why did Taco Bell take over Northern CA!  It doesn't make sense.   There are Del Taco's everywhere down south.  This one is the only one I know of in the area.  Their chicken soft tacos are so tasty!  The sauce they  put on them is delicious...seriously, it tastes more like you are eating at a restaurant rather than a fast food joint.  My husband always gets the red burrito with lettuce and that is really good.  Sorry Taco Bell, but Del Taco is much higher quality and has so many more menu options...they even serve shakes, burgers and fries....I've only had the fries and they are really good!

Del Taco.....We are a fan of you!!!

This is like the only Del Taco around my area! Their chicken soft tacos are bomb. Cheap, but small, gotta eat like 4 of em, but they hit spot. I usually don't eat anything, but their chicken products. You can get better Mexican food at other taquerias, but if you're in a hurry and in the area, it would be arite. Just a notch up from Taco Bell. Anyone notice they got rid of the 24 hour sign?! I went there the other night at around 3am and it wasn't open!! Wack!! There goes one of my 24 hour spots =*(**.

FOUR FREE MOVIE TICKETS for eating at DT? AWESOME.
Pay with AmEx three times? Alright, I'll give DT a try.
HOW? Read my review!

I ordered a burger combo, $5.19 + tx, used my cc. The burger wasn't all that, why would it, from a place with the name "taco" in it. The burger was sized like a big mac, thin patty. I do like their crinkle fries.

I scarf'd down the burger, fries, most of the soda.

Went up to the counter to use the 3 chicken soft taco for $2 coupon printed off DT's website (watch out, this coupon will suck up your black ink). I took this to-go.

Anyways, I ate a taco when I got back, it's actually good. So yes, taco at Del Taco are good, burger not so much.

They have breakfast burrito's on the cheap, if DT wasn't out of my commute path, I'd prob try it out.

So that's two receipts, one more receipt to go and I can submit the movie tix form.

Get the form at: http://museumormovie.com/
Good until May 20, 2008.

* oh yea, not all DT accept amex, so call ahead. Luckily this location does, no minimum.

This place kicks the crap out of Taco Hell.  The menu items has actual mexican tacos.  Not the tacos you get at Taco Bell.  Of course I've always thought that getting fries with your value meal which consisted of a taco and burrito was odd, but hey I'm not complaining.

I had the two chicken taco meal.  The tacos were great, and whatever sauce they use is pretty tasty.  Overall this place is my default fast food "Mexican" spot.  Too bad I only visit it 2 or 3 times a year.  Gotta watch out for the belly!

I love Del Taco, its from growing up in Southern California where they are practically on every street corner.  They are super cheap, and their food makes me so happy!  I usually get chicken soft tacos, but their chili cheese fries are good also, and seriously when I can get a burrito and a burger in the same place I think HEAVEN!  Just kidding.  Seriously though its not gourmet cooking, but its pretty darn good for being so cheap.  The only reason I can't give 5 stars here is because I like my del tacos 24 hours and this one is sadly not.  More Del Tacos in the bay area!

Cheap.  Convenient.  Fast.  Burritos.  Fries.  Churros.  Yum.  Even friendly drive-thru staff, who are usually pretty good about not screwing up special orders (the only way I order!)  What more could you ask for??  We go here often.

FYI - Breakfast tends to be a little slow.  Ok VERY slow.  Especially when you're trying to get to work on time.  Even though they're always completely dead at 7am.  And at least 50% of the time when I order my morning red bean and cheese burrito with NO CHEESE (confirming it both at the speaker AND while I'm paying) I end up receiving a bean and CHEESE burrito with no SAUCE.  At lunch and dinner I don't think I've ever had a messed up order.  In the morning, just take your time and keep it simple.

Dear Del Taco-

we need more del tacos in northern california. I really love your food after drinking. I used to always have your food after drinking when I lived in southern california where you can find a del taco on every corner. can I tell you how much I love your chili cheese fries? and the other night I had the shredded beef nachos. I love the fact that you are cheap too but I mean that in a good way.

I love you del taco-

Rancezilla

ps- I would have give you the fifth star if you had more than one location in the south bay!

I'm so tickled by how many stars this fast food joint has gotten. .. and they more than deserve it!

I'd first off like to dedicate this review to Jen- who has traveled far and wide w/ me (aka from downtown SJ or Santana Row) to a joint that holds a little place in our hearts.

What kinda fast food joint would hook you up w/ a FREE Del Taco shirt?? Yes, it's true folks. After visiting this place on many occasions after nites full of drinking & dancing, Jen and I came to be amigos w/ one of the drive-thru DT employees... and after admiring his cool, black DT shirt, he told us to swing by next time and he'd have one for us... and he kept his promise! It don't get any better than that. ;)

Other than our favorite employee-of-the-month, the food there has always been kick ass. A couple of the Chicken Taco Del Carbons are all I need to complete my nite. It's hard for me to steer away from these puppies, but when I'm feeling "adventurous" I order their Spicy Chicken Burrito or Del Classic Chicken Burrito.

The only things I don't really get, is why they give you so many hot sauce packets. It's generous and all, but kinda strange. Also, their crinkly-cut fries are super random, but since all you guys seem to love the variety, I don't mind em' much.

You rock Del Taco!!

Why taco bell is everywhere, and del taco can only be found one place in the bay area is beyond me.  It costs the same, but actually tastes like real food.  They use real cheese for gosh sakes!

Not only that, but they have french fries with their tacos.  Crinkle Cut SON!

But why does it have to be so hard to get to?  Its near nothing, so I have to go out of my way to go there.  Its not near a freeway.  Boo.

Vive Los DEL TACO!

When I want to relive my old college days, I head over to Del Taco, order myself a few chicken soft tacos, a 1/2lb bean & cheese burrito with green sauce and possibly a strawberry shake and all it well with the world and all the adult real world problems melt away in fast food taco heaven.

Those were the days when my old roommates back in Irvine and I would sit around late night and someone would call out 'DT run?' and it was on! Better were those wasted late night study sessions where you really just sit around with friends and bullshit away valuable study time the night before your midterms/finals... you probably should have opened up those recommended reading books beforehand and used them, now you get to sell them back for a fraction of the cost and you got no use out of them whatsover.

Back then Taco Tuesdays really meant something for the starving college student, 3 tacos for 99cents, I dont even know what it is these days. *sigh* I do know that the chicken soft tacos have 50% more chicken and I'm all about that.

Anyways, Del Taco is straight up comfort food. Without a care in the world, young, naive and indestructible. Can it be all so simple?

When I'm too broke or filthy to enter a taqueria (a hypothetical situation that must be understood as unlike an oxymoron), I come to Del Taco. The service is quick and understanding, even when my girlfriend fruitlessly demands an explanation as to why they only offer her the option 'medium or large' when all she wants is small, the menu is positively riveting and the quality of the food is surprisingly delicious for being a place whose only motto is "Are you ready to feed the Beast?"

I'm not sure that my digestive system appreciates being referred to as something akin to a monster from a Brothers Grimm story but nonetheless, I finish my meals here with minimal latrine time and a slightly less disgusted feeling than one would experience at a similarly low brow junk food establishment.

Just get the taco del carbon. Get three of those bad boys. The crinkly fries are white trash brilliance. Tacos and fries? My girlfriend's abuela stares at me with complete disdain but I care not. We over here eating cheap tacos and watching 'Will & Grace', we ain't giving a fuck.

This is my favorite mexican fast food place since taco Bell stopped making Bell Beefers.  There is absolutely nothing authentically mexican about this place, yet a combo burrito and a double del along with a corona (you have to take out, a diet coke just doesn't cut it) makes for a great (yet somehow sad) Friday night.  And their fries are really good.

Looking for some fast food that is not burgers or sandwiches? Then come here for some delicious Mexican fast food that is better than Taco Bell. I highly recommend the #3 meal, which is the Del Carbon tacos. These tacos are comparable to the 'street' tacos you can get at Rubios (cept it only comes in steak or chicken). The tacos are made with a soft, corn-like tortilla, and include lots of chunks of meat, onions, and tons of cilantro (you better like cilantro!). It also has a flavorful red sauce which can be augmented with the Del Taco Mild to Spicy sauces if the sauce is not flavorful enough for you! Unlike Taco Bell, the tacos come with french fries. These fries are really tasty. Slightly oily, salted just right, and chewy (for crispy fry lovers, you shouldn't eat these).

I've also had the cheese quesadilla (it supposedly comes with spicy peppers but they are not spicy), the fish taco (very yums), the regular soft tacos (good and definitely better than Taco Bell's soft tacos), and other items that I can't remember. I highly recommend this place for a late night snack when you're craving Taco Bell but want something better, or even for an afternoon snack. Heck, I would eat it at all times (cept for breakfast maybe, but only because I haven't tried the breakfast items).

I love Del Taco but, only for a few of their items.  So, I'm rating them based on the items that I love!  I love their chicken soft taco or del classic chicken burrito (basically the same item).  And, I love their macho nachos with no beans!  And if you like the old school cafeteria fries, they have it here!

Growing up in Southern California, we had as many Del Tacos as Taco Bells, McDonald's, and Jack In the Boxes.  As another reviewer describes it, it is somewhat of a Tex-Mex fast food joint.  Sure, it's not authentic Mexican food, but I like it.  It is sure a nice change/alternative to other fast food joints.

When I moved here back in May '06, I didn't miss it very much at first, after all...it's just fast food.  It was only until I went home this last Mother's Day and ate at Del Taco that I realized how much I missed it.

Sure, it's just a fast food joint, so I'm not going to give it 5 stars, but I really do like Del Taco.  The taste of their food is a little different that other Mexican Fast Food places and it's a taste that I like.  It is most likely not healthy for you, but what fast food place is?

I took Rhea's review into consideration and only went to the drive-thru.

I got my usual 2 soft tacos combo and I am a happy camper.  Of  course, you have to get the Del Scorcho sauce to go with your meal.  It's the best!  I also love their Quesadillas.

I also took notice of the drive-thru hours.  It's open until 3am on weekdays and 24 hours on the weekends.  This is great, because now I have another late-night/after going out dining spot besides Jack in the Box.

I'm not sure if the food at Del Taco is any healthier than the food at Taco Bell, but I am in complete agreement with the others who say Del Taco food definitely *tastes* better!  Their fries are my favorite of all fast-food fries: crinkle-cut and almost never cold or greasy.  I also like their chicken quesadillas and the Del Beef Burrito, which is nothing but ground beef, onions, sauce, and cheese in a flour tortilla.  Cheap Tex-Mex food that makes a nice treat every once in awhile!

Del Taco is good for late night munchies! My favorite is the del classic chicken burrito.. yummmmmy sauce! I usually get #2 which is the meal for that. It comes with fries and a drink. Burrito with fries? Sounds like a weird combo right? But it works! My boyfriend likes the macho nachos and macho beef burrito.. I can't believe he finishes it too, it's HUGE.

Hands down better fast food joint then taco bell. I love the chicken soft tacos...don't know what is inthe sauce but I bet its low grade crack, cuz I order like 5 of them everytime I go, hey they're only 99 cents...who can resist?...Also the shrimp and tapas is good, they give you the same low grade crack laced sauce to dip the skrimps in. The macho nachos beat nachos bell grande at taco bell any day. Oh, and they're open late...thats always a super duper plus for those of us who are zombies.

Crunchy tacos, crispy fries, and a killer 1/2 lb. bean and cheese burrito with GREEN sauce is the way I like my Del Taco. Eating like this frequently was why I was "carrying extra insulation" during my late teen years.

I used to stop by this place a lot when I was in high school. I would drive down from Saratoga to this place because they (1) have good, cheap, food and (2) totally kick Taco Bell's butt with the flavor and quality of food.

Yes, yes... this is a fast food taco joint but they make darn good tacos (the chicken/beef tacos del carbon are SO good), they fry up some great crinkly fries and their 1/2 lb. bean and cheese burritos are so creamy and savory... especially with the spicy green sauce. They also have a red sauce for milder palates.

This place also has milkshakes should you want to try a new combination-- 2 tacos, fries, and a strawberry shake. Good luck.

Taco and fries sounded strange when I first had it, but it works out fine.  I usually get the #4, which is the 2 chicken soft taco, fries, and a drink.  Once they got the #5 going on, I can't avoid getting it.  That consists of 2 fish tacos, fries, and a drink.  I never was much of a fish taco guy, but I gotta have one every time i come in.  The chicken quesadilla is to pretty tasty as well.  I would just stay away from the Carbon Tacos.  You can find better stuff at a local taqueria.  Remember this is your Southern California style joint, nothing authentic, but way better than Taco Bell.  I'd kill for a Del Taco near my home, but I'm forced to go the distance.

i only go through the drive thru because dining in makes me feel dirty, because the interior looks cheap. what in the hell am i talking about since del taco itself is pretty frekkin cheap. tuesday nights used to be 3 tacos for 99 cents, but i think it's just two tacos now.

my friends and i would take our food and park over at the chinese restaurant in the same plaza because the asian women and caucasian men would go dancing here, like ballroom status in a janky place. you can't find that now for it's under new management.

compared to taco bell, this place is the shit! i think it's the cheese. it's definitely the fresh shredded cheese.

This place looks like a cheap imitation of taco bell, but in all honesty it's way better than taco bell.  The tacos taste better and I credit this to the thinner shells and the cheese they use.  The meat is probably the same because it's just ground up whatever.  But the biggest difference between the two places is that del taco has french fries, and not just regular fries like a burger joint, but french fries like the one's that you used to get served in elementary school, if you dont know what I mean just go to del taco and get a macho fries, you will enjoy it.  And if you want to save some money go on Tuesday for Taco Tuesdays, 3 tacos for $1.29, sadly they raised the price.  Don't forget the del scorcho sauce though, you'll regret it if you do.

Only downside, the tacos are tiny(I can finish at least 6 in one sitting and I'm not a big guy) and the burgers aren't all that, but their name is del taco not del hamburguesa, so you can't really complain.
