Del Ray Animal Hospital is a good place to take your pets for vaccines or a check-up. They are quick, the vets are very friendly, and the prices are quite reasonable.

My main reasons giving a non-stellar rating are in relation to their boarding operation.

Don't get me wrong. I feel that my dog is safe and provided for when I leave him here. But it does trouble me some to know that there isn't staff onsite 24/7. Between mid-evening and the next morning there could easily be no one in the facilities. Also, they are strict about drop-off hours. Every time I have come close to the 7 p.m. drop-off deadline, staff seem anxious and ready to go home. It's fine that they are particular about their hours, but it makes things fairly inconvenient if you want to go after work (they're located right off of Highway 1 = major traffic issues!).

They do seem to always have availability, even if looking last minute- so that's definitely a plus!

Regardless, I suspect boarding just isn't a primary focus of theirs. For a good kennel I highly recommend traveling the extra mile (or 20) to the Woodbridge Animal Hospital.

But for veterinary services, Del Ray Animal Hospital is great and I definitely recommend them!

Quote my dog, "Arf arf.  Dr. Farrell and the fine fine folkth at Del Ray Animal Hothpital arf arf have been nothing thort of remarkable for the numerouth timeth I've gone there.  The friendly vetth and nurtheth make my vet vithith theem like arf arf arf a fun time at the dog park.  And I even get lots of treath arf!"

The Del Ray Animal Hospital is a full service veterinarian service for your dog, cat or other pets (Call first to see if they can handle your exotics.) From teeth cleaning, to worming and other vaccinations and maintenance needs, Del Ray Animal Hospital provides first rate care for the City of Alexandria. The staff are exceptional and work well with patients and their pets. Doctors are knowledgeable and can help through any phase of your pet's life. Heck, if they were medical doctors - I'd trust them with my own health care. But for now, our pets are healthy and happy - in part due to their services.
