11 reviews for Del Frisco's Prime Steak & Lobster
Big, red, old-school vinyl booths. Friendly and professional staff. Super wine list.
We started with a half bottle of champagne and their crab cakes. Holy smokes they make some spectacular crab cakes - full of fresh tasting crab meat with a spicy Cajun lobster sauce on top.
We were hungry, but not crazy fat guy hungry, so next we had our entrees and skipped their salad/soup course. We both had the filet mignon. Yow! They were both perfect steaks. Tender. Pink on the inside. Black on the outside and encrusted with some pepper and maybe a few other spices and herbs.
For the sides we had their "chateau potatoes" and their take on the traditional creamed spinach dish. The potatoes were knock-outs - but they also contained our years recommended intake of butter.
Bravo.
Yes, this place consistently delivers great food and great service. But without the brand's nationally famous lemon cake, Del Frisco's of Orlando is clearly the chain's weak link!
I would rank this in the top 2 or 3 steakhouses in Central Florida. You select your cut of prime meat and they cook to order. Watch the prices because sides are extra. Everything on the menu is fantastic. I love the lobster(if someone else is paying)! The desserts are also delicious, my fav is the creme brule'.

I had the strip steak here. It was so so so so tasty. It had 3 types/colors of ground pepper and kosher salt on it. That's it nothing weird or strange just salt and pepper and it was amazing.
Their mashed potatoes are also quite excellent.
It's expensive, the decor reminds me of somewhere Sinatra would have hung out.
I eat steak once a year and this is where I eat it! YUM, YUM, AND YUM!

The best steak in Orlando, bar none! Also great service, bar, etc.
Generous portions as well.
Everyone in Orlando ranks Del Frisco's as one of the top steakhouses in the area, mostly because everything--from the wine to the side items--tastes delicious. The cut and quality of the meat is so fine that you don't even need fancy marinade. Also, the staff happily accommodates any special dietary needs and they offer take-out as well.
I'm from Texas and we know steaks! Del Frisco's will rival just about any steakhouse I know here in the Lone Star. It's a true gem of a restaurant with friendly wait staff, very knowledgeable sommelier and side dishes for which to die! Their steaks are melt in your mouth... I must have stolen a bite from at least three steaks from my friends when I was there last. The prices are fairly reasonable, too.

This is all about steak. It makes Ruth's Chris seem just a touch pallid. It's a big ole chain, but hell, you're in Orlando, resistance is futile. If you want to impress a client, or rather lull him/her into a food coma, head to Del Frisco's. Mouth wateringly tender beef, succulent accoutrements--the creamed spinach is worth the eventual infarction--and a decent wine list.
i didn't realize this was a chain until after my dinner. the building and location are very nice. the atmosphere inside is very clubby, with wood, brick and cozy booths. we started with salads and i had a caesar, and it was a let down, very generic in a fridays or applebees kind of way. as if you took some romaine and shook it in a bland premade caesar dressing, not good. on to our meal, we had filet mignons with mushrooms, chateau potatoes, and spinach. the steaks were obviously a supreme quality cut of meat, but my wifes was doused with a very excessive amount of salt, and mine was over salted and extremely over peppered, completely overpowering the meat. i was not thrilled at all. they were cooked to perfection though. the sides were good. i would rate this placed as a high priced chain steakhouse. i enjoyed the orlando mortons more. i have had much better steakhouse experiences. in fact if you want steak done to an extreme level go to berns steakhouse in tampa, where they prepare caesars tableside, organically grow all their produce, and have an extensive steak menu where you can choose by the ounce, and it is seasoned to a much higher standard.
On the bright side, Del Frisco's has the best spinach I have ever had. The side dishes are top notch, and so are their salads. I love the atmosphere, even though the booths have little leg room, I like the tables better. The steaks are decent, but not worth the price in my opinion. It is a high end steak restaurant like Capital Grille or Morton's steakhouse, but based on the few times I have been here, I have never been amazed by the steaks. I never went back because last time I was with a group of 6 people and the biggest cockroach I had ever seen ran out of the kitchen and into the dining area. The girls in the room were screaming and it crawled under our table. The staff knew what was going on but did not help. We had to kill it and the only thing they did was scoop it up. That's the biggest hint that a place is overrated if they have a dressy facade and the steaks are average and then a giant cockroach comes out of the kitchen. The worst part was, they did not comp our meal!! You would expect such a well known and reputable steakhouse would be the first to not expect you to pay if you were grossed out beyond belief and had to kill a cockroach for them. They must not be doing well if they needed us to pay after that. They offered us a dessert but nobody was hungry and I haven't liked any of their desserts thus far. They did not satisfy/solve the problem. The steak is not among the best in Orlando and definitely not in the world. The pepper is overpowering on the steak and the steak itself is dull. Definitely not worth the price. Kres Chop House on Church Street is so much better through and through. The side dishes at Del Frisco's are always consistently great, but the steaks are not worth it. Granted, I haven't had all the steaks on the menu, for instance I haven't had the strip steak. But I have had a few different kinds and none of them have stunned me. Definitely the cockroach incident will prevent me from ever coming back. Who knows what kind of dirtiness there is in the kitchen if that mutant came running out. It was literally the biggest cockroach I had ever seen, I thought it was a possum at first.
