Only veg friendly place in Memphis. Super good food, nice owner and staff. We enjoyed everything we ate at this place, and were impressed by the prices and portions. The owner was from New Orleans, and was extremely friendly and welcoming. I wish he would come back home, so that I could eat his food everyday, because he is extremely talented!

I was disturbed by the fact that some reviewers called the location a "bad neighborhood".. It's just a more industrial area, and neither of us felt that we were in any danger.

This place was the best part of our trip to Memphis, that's for sure.

Chef Gary came to Memphis from New Orleans when Katrina hit and thankfully, he never left. The best AUTHENTIC Cajun/Creole food in Memphis. Don't be intimidated by the location or the building itself. The food is amazing and the staff is friendly.

    P.S. It's spelled "Deja Vu" :)

It's Deja Vu.  Super good Creole/Cajun food.  I had a bite of my dining companion's gumbo, which was delicious (the sausage is incredible), but I went for the veggies.  I posted a picture of my vegetable plate: red beans and rice, collard greens, grilled cabbage, and fried plantains.  Excellent!   For you folks who haven't eaten collard greens, they have the consistency of construction paper, and never seem to cook up quite tender enough, but the taste is great when prepared correctly.  Deja Vu has the technique down.  If you visit, don't miss the the grilled cabbage (must eat to appreciate).  The plantains were perfect.  As Rachel said, don't locate the location scare you.  I love this place!!
