    Clarks Valley Reservoir is created by Dehart Dam on Clarks Creek in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania and is used for drinking water purposes. It was built in 1940. It has a normal surface area of 592 acres. It is owned by The Harrisburg Authority.

    Dehart, also known as Clarks Valley Reservoir is of earthen construction. Its height is 105 feet with a length of 2000 feet. Its capacity is 30800 acre feet. Normal storage is 23700 acre feet. It drains an area of 21.3 square miles.

    Dehart Dam used to be one of the best places to spend a lazy summer afternoon.  There's a lovely park up there at the foot of the reservoir, you have to walk over the dam to get to it.  Excellent views of the lake... I had a LOT of fun there as a kid.  

    Sadly, inasmuch as it IS the reservoir for the whole city, they've been forced to close down the park.  You're not allowed back there anymore.
