Heavenly falling off the bone, spice rubbed and slow cooked to perfection barbecued ribs. Service was like my going to my grandma's house for a holiday dinner: sweet and courteous, showing sincere concern that I had a good experience. What they scrimp on decor and building materials, they make up in spades with food and service.
This place is literally a shack with a precarious bigger seating area shack next store with the BBQ cooker in the backyard out back waaay off the beaten track. It wasn't even listed on my rental's navigation system.
The sauce, which is served on the side, is perfectly among consistency, hotness, spiciness and sweetness.
Back to the service, I didn't experience anything similar to Paul H. The older woman behind the counter was sweet, courteous and considerate to a fault. When she asked how everything was, I knew she really meant it.
I'm only in town for the week but I will try to pack in as many meals there as I can.

Dee's Q is possibly the tastiest little barbeque shack in the greater Nashville area. They certainly aren't big on appearances, but when it comes to stripped-down soul food dishes and BBQ straight from the pit, you can't go wrong with Dee's.
Dee's is usually staffed with only two or three employees (most of whom are polite and bubbly teenage girls), so your wait might climb to as much as a half an hour on Friday and Saturday nights. It's always worth it, though space is a bit limited and I personally enjoy carryout over dining in.
I've sampled most of the menu and can't seem to discover a dish I don't love. At the top of the list are the brisket, the Polish sausage, and the catfish. If you're feeling regal, Dee's offers a massive turkey leg that's a bit like something Henry VIII might have dined on, though it barely fits into the Styrofoam container they outfit you with. Sides include beans, fries, mac & cheese, and my favorite: fried okra.
Prices are fair, and the employees are a bit partial to regulars. So make a habit of going and it will certainly pay off.

My lips, fingers and now my keyboard are all dripping with fiery goodness from Dee's Q. It's my kind of place. No fancy anything, just damn good food. The best barbecue I've had in Tennessee hands down. The ribs, wings, and sandwich are all excellent. The turnip greens, are a little bland, but everything else is perfectly done. I ordered hot sauce... It's a little sweet, with plenty of kick to balance it out. I think I'll jump to cry baby wings next time :0)
This place looks like it serves up unbelievable bar-b-que, and it probably does. I guess that I just had a bad/unlucky experience. I ordered a plate of pork shoulder with sides of bbq beans and fries - nothing too complex - but I waited almost an hour to get my food (as did two other guys). I understand that good food sometimes takes a little time to prepare, but this was ridiculous. To make matters worse, every time I asked about my order, the girl behind the register said that it was almost ready and that she'd have it right out. I was ready to walk when the owner - at least I assume that she was the owner - apologized and gave me my money back along with my food.
You could tell that the order was put together in a rush - the fries were under cooked and they forgot the sauce. The meat was pretty good, but dry - had I had the sauce, it may have been better.
I will definitely go back - I had a bite of a friend's fried catfish and okra and it was awesome. So, to be fair I think that this place deserves a second chance.
This is a rustic little BBQ hut, where you can pre-order and eat in a little tented picnicky area. The price is right and the shoulder sandwich and sides (esp fried okra) were all yummers.
Reggie and company cook up the real deal at this BBQ-to-go shack in East Nashville. Named for Reggie's daughter, Dee's Q has some of the best fried catfish, meaty wings, tender pork shoulder and succulunt baked beans in town. The ambiance is great, thanks in large part to the strobe light.
