I could not be happier with my service from Dee Gainey's Body Shop!!! Incredibly friendly and caring office staff with such timely and personalized service from Dee himself. Not to mention their convenient location in South End! I have so many positive things to say about this body shop.

I came in at 7:30 am on a Monday after hitting my boyfriend's car against a pole in our parking garage the day before. My boyfriend was out of town and I had been borrowing his car. It was my second week of work here in Charlotte and I was very worried about making it into the office on time. Martha Gainey offered to drive me to uptown to ensure I wouldn't be late, which was so considerate and appreciated.

Regarding the vehicle, the side mirror was really banged up/detached and the front door was off its hinges, unable to close. I did not care about painting the scratches or fixing the dents, I just really wanted a new mirror and a working door before my boyfriend came back home on Wednesday. Dee and Martha both understood my requests and literally not even 12 hours later, I received a call that my van was ready for pick up. Dee fixed the broken door without even charging me for his time, and got a new side mirror painted and attached the same day I came in. The same day!!!!The price was a little less than what they quoted me initially, so that was an added bonus. I haven't had much experience with auto repair shops, but if I have to come again I will be heading to Dee Gainey's!

I have a hard time trusting businesses with my vehicles.. I've had some bad experiences.. Tim made me feel comfortable from the moment I requested a quote. The service was excellent and my car is back looking like a charm. I totally recommend Dee Gainey's Body shop..

They did a fantastic job on fixing my car! I got into an accident over the weekend and I was able to bring my car in first thing on Monday. It took them about a day to take the car apart and come back with a quote. After that they worked with my insurance and made it so easy for me! What originally was going to take a couple weeks to fix they were able to fix in one week to accommodate my schedule. Couldn't be happier with the work that they did. I got constant updates on my car and it looks great! Everybody that I talked to was so friendly and accommodating, they even offered to drive me home after I dropped my car off. If I ever need work done on my car again Il'l definitely go back! Plus they have a lifetime guarantee on their work.

This place was recommended to me by Baker Auto, another great place I get my vehicle serviced. I went there to get some dents looked at on my hood that was preventing it from closing all the way. The man (not Dee) went outside and popped the dents manually and then told me that honestly it wasn't worth putting any money into fixing it. I appreciated the honesty and for someone not trying to take advantage of a female who doesn't know much about cars. My mother in laws car got broken into, resulting in a broken window, and I recommended Dees to her. She worked with Dee on insurance and got everything handled quickly and professionally. They even polished her rims and cleaned her car when she got it back. Dee did a great job. I like them because they are a small business, have experience, are trustworthy, and do a great job.

If you ever need body work in Charlotte this is the place to go. The work was phenomenal, you would never have any idea that my vehicle was involved in an accident. Not only do the repairs look great but they return your car cleaner than you drop it off. They kept me updated throughout the process and treated my car as if it was their own. Highly recommended.

After a caliber collision repair from a few years away was turned away despite the Geico "guarantee for life", dee had a new window put in my car within 24 hours when ford quoted me 2 weeks! Affordable, quick and quality work from a neighborhood shop was just what I needed to turn my week around. I will definitely bring my car back for any bodywork needs in the future!

Dee & his crew did a fabulous job on my 2017 Ford Escape. I definitely feel like I got the best deal in Charlotte and the quality of work was fantastic. I needed my vehicle repaired by Thursday and he did came through with his promise. It looks better than it did prior to my accident. Not only did he do a great job but he surprised me with a touch up on my rims! Beyond happy and I'll definitely recommend him to anyone. Hopefully, I won't need to come back but if something would need to be repaired I know exactly who to call!

Not honest about their prices.

Shame on me for trusting them. They charged me close to double what they quoted. I didn't bother getting their quote in writing as it was quoted at only a $4-500 job. They ended up charging me $867.

Their work product was fair.

Where oh where do I start...
I took my wrecked vehicle in to Dee Gainey's on July 1 (a Friday) for an estimate. I was told at that time that they would be able to start the repairs that following Monday and they would have it completed in 4-5 days. I ended up taking my car in on July 8 ( the following Friday) and my insurance company issued me a rental vehicle on that day. 2 1/2 weeks later I called Dee Gainey's to check the status and they hadn't even started! Their claim was that my insurance co (Allstate) wasn't coming out to the body shop in a timely manner to assess the additional damage that had been discovered. WHICH THERE WAS additional damage. This excuse was a lie. Allstate gave me specific dates of when they came out..and even told me that they had given the body shop "the go" to start certain repairs on my car. When Allstate returned, Dee Gainey's hadn't even started on what they were given permission to do!! So, as my 30 day rental car period was getting closer, I of course became nervous. Certainly I don't want to have to pay $30/day out of my pocket. Long story short, Dee Gainey's had my vehicle for 34 days. A ridiculous amount of time. It was not a complicated repair. So unfortunately I had to pay $150 for those additional days in a rental, all because Dee Gainey's dragged their feet. I asked the owner (Dee) if he would be willing to at least help me out with my out of pocket rental fees. His answer was no. He took absolutely no responsibility for the fact that my vehicle was in his shop for a ridiculous amount of time. I know this because I have taken other vehicles to Hendrick Honda, Pack Bros, etc and I have never experienced anything like this. And if this wasn't enough..I picked my car up on a Wednesday. Two days later I was looking closely at where they had painted my car and I noticed that there was no glitter (sparkle) on those areas. My car is supposed to be a pearl white. These people actual painted it regular flat white!! So of course I called them immediately and I was told to bring it in. As soon as I got there, one of the workers came out and told me.."I know what happened, my painter painter it white". And I can't help but wonder if they did this on purpose because I'm a woman and they didn't think I would notice. Pearl white paint is more expensive than regular white.
So... Dee Gainey's was quick to get my car back in to repaint it. And they even provided me a rental car at no cost to me...ironic since they refused to assist me in the rental fees I got stuck with which was totally their fault. I was told to arrive before 5pm at the body shop and my rental would be waiting. It was not. Big surprise. I had my 2 and 4 year old in tow and we waited 35 minutes on our rental to arrive. Not at all Enterprise's fault. The enterprise guy told me there was never even an order placed for a rental to meet me there. Also the thing that really bothers me is that there was absolutely no apology. The owners and workers at the shop just kinda laughed about the fact that they had painted my car the wrong color. It was a huge inconvenience to me and my family and I do not recommend this body shop whatsoever. I actually chose them because my friend had used them but she actually ended up having problems as well! Her vehicle started leaking right after it was returned to her. He had given them a good review but has since deleted it. So, if you want your vehicle to be in the shop for 37 days (total when you add up the additional days due to my car being painted he wrong color) then choose Dee Gainey's. If not, go with Pack Bros in Belmont or Hendrick Honda on South Blvd.
