Someone told me about this place yesterday at work, and I thought I would stop by and pick something up for lunch today.
This is basically a take out place, no seating for eating just for waiting for your pick up. There is nothing to see as far as decor or what have you. But you should just be there for the food!
The menu has lots of platters, ranging from short ribs, flounder, chicken (breast, legs or wings), meatloaf, etc. There are sandwiches of fish, and chicken. Some salads, lots of sides and puddings, pies and cakes. This was a good mix of things I thought.
I got the turkey chop platter. This is basically a turkey breast seasoned and lightly fried. This I got with potato salad and collard greens. This was really good stuff. The chop wasn't greasy and was very juicy. I haven't had turkey like that before, so it was great. The greens were as to be expected, no surprise eh.
However the potato salad was really really good. This was far different from my mom's which I think is 'da bomb.' It wasn't filled with mayo. It had its own distinct taste, that I couldn't really describe, but I waxed that off in no time, it was that good.
The location isn't the greatest, but with good food like this, and the monstruous portions, at a good price; I will definitely be heading over to Deborah's more often. One advice is to call ahead (once you have been there before and have gotten a menu to take home).
Okay...I'm going to take a nap, I ate so much, I think I have a food baby!
