Marco Marco Marco. The first time I tried to get a haircut, you didn't show up at all. For whatever reason, I was intrigued enough to schedule another appointment a month later and this time you showed up, all be it 30 minutes late.
That said, I don't know if I've ever had a better haircut. You're honest, care about what you're doing, and give a piece of your mind while you're at it. Even the girlfriend liked it.
Beware, Marco doesn't need new customers, in fact another 5 star rating may only add to his already too full plate. -

This is the only place I come to get my hair cut. It's kind of hard to find (Floor A -- 1 down from the lobby -- in an office building)... not the most obvious place in the world.
Marco, the guy that runs the place, knows how to give some serious hair cuts. He also is a lively conversationalist... prepare for a fair share of British humor while in the chair. Prices are fair. -

Marco does a great haircut; both I and my girlfriend get our hair cut here. The price is very reasonable (his haircut price includes a wash, I used to pay extra for that).
The shop is a little hard to find, especially on the weekends when the office building it's located in can be locked up (be sure to knock -- there is a desk attendant). But it's worth it, both for the cuts and for the conversations with Marco. -

Palo Alto, CA
I had been looking for a barber in the downtown area for a while. While searching Yelp, I found out about Marco and decided to give him a shot. It was definitely the complete barber/haircutting experience. Great convo, great music and a great cut. The ambiance of the shop is also part of the experience.
If you're looking for a good cut and experience, Marco is the guy to see. -

I have been going to Marco for a really long time. He is somebody who can get along with anybody! Every time I go in not only do I leave with a great haircut, but I also leave in great spirits from the laughs we just had. I travel a ways away but it is totally worth it. With his fun and humor he makes it fun to get a haircut. He is also very loyal to his customers. He will squeeze me in if he can. One little secret about him. If you bring him a drip coffee from Pete's before you go, your haircuts for some reason are a little better. But you did not hear that from me.

Damn good haircut today.
I tried a couple of different places when I moved to Palo Alto, settled on a sub par place in the Stanford Mall, and eventually graduated to Debonair. I have to admit I'm a bit skeptical whenever a business only has five star reviews, but I decided to give it a go anyways. Definitely was not disappointed. Today's cut was the best I've had in the year and a half since I've lived in the bay area.
True to some of the other reviews, my appointment started about 30 minutes late. I was kind of expecting it based on what I read on Yelp, and wasn't in a rush, so I didn't mind--there were some good magazines that kept me occupied. Despite being in the basement of a commercial building, the decor of the actual shop is a step up from the everyday men's barber shop--think international travel and timeless style. Reasonable price.

The hair cut I got before I met Marco was free. That's how bad it was. That was more than 10 years ago. Marco is a great barber and over the years has become a great friend. He always has cool music on and the new shop is coming along quite nicely. Parking is a snap as there is a free public garage just down the street. You don't have to go to a shopping mall to get a great hair cut !

Great haircuts. Great conversation. Great music. Alas, he has left town, and we are short on all those things now.

Marco gives a terrific cut -- probably the best I have ever had. He really understands men's hair, and the cut grows in nicely and looks good over many weeks.
