The locals have praised this place so much I had to try it for myself and was not disappointed in the least bit. The toppings are simply piled on to the point where it resembles Carl Jr commercials where sauce drips off of the burgers within each bite. The pizza was not only delicious but this place had such great variety that I can't wait to go back. Favorites would include the T-Rex and crawfish pizza. The service was decent, as were the prices. If it weren't for the artistic sign that is "Deano's" I would've guessed this place was a run down biker bar from the outside given its limited (car, not motorcycle) parking, dark scene, and semi-shady location.
I used to love Deanos when I lived in Louisiana. But now I find it to be way too heavy for my tastes. They do pile on crazy amounts of toppings..and all of their pizzas are unique, especially with the use of crawfish. But I now find that even a simple margherita pizza out here in San Francisco tastes a lot better than Deanos. Their crust is too thick and their tomato sauce isn't really appetizing. I think, however, that it's my palate that's changed and not the quality of their pizza. So I'm retro-rating them a 4.
