I've been a patient of Dr. Rider's (as my Primary Care Physician) for about four years. Nice guy, caring, personable. His staff is just terrific, and I always enjoy visiting the office about as much as you can. Plus, his office has possibly the most breathtaking view in San Francisco, looking north from the top of Parnassus. I mean, WOW.

My one complaint is that he's busy, so if you have a routine appt, expect to wait a couple weeks to get in. In general, though, I've been pleased to be his patient.

Dr Rider is a good guy, but he's really hard to get ahold of.  I mentioned to my primary care physician that I thought that he was spending all of his time on research instead of with his patients, and my PCP said he was most likely playing golf with his colleagues.  I laughed but he said he actually wasn't kidding.

If you can get ahold of his though, he's a good Gastroenterologist.  His office staff is great (especially Birgitte and Mona) and they are very helpful and knowledgable.
