This store is a like a Ross or Marshalls. Crazy lines but really cheap merchandise that are all in disarray.
Good deals if you are willing to sort through the mess. I stopped by the Dollar store next door and found some cool items too!

I think of DD's Discounts as the flea markets of the designer stores. Reason being is that most of the products are knockoffs of the real thing! I have avoided coming to any of the stores simply because the quality is so pathetic that it makes shopping at GOODWILL a valuable experience. Shopping at this store is like throwing money away, very cheap clothes and ghetto attire.
The only good thing about shopping at DD's is knowing not to shop there. I highly recommend shopping at Marshall's, ROSS or TJ MAXX where at least you will get your money's worth. Enough said.
I love DD's but the biggest problem for me is the wait to pay. I mean shit, the line is always HELLA LONG. There's only like 3 registers and usually 2 of them are closed and it doesn't help thatthe cashiers take their fucken time!!!! Yeah, like we have all day to look at yo fucked up ass eyebrows and long ass finger nails...Hoes!!!
The longest I've waited is like an hour to pay. Since then, what I do is, right before I get in line, I check to see how long the line is. If it's not that bad I'll pay but if it's the slightest bit long, I'll just leave, I hate waiting!!!
Well, they have some really cool stuff and it's really cheap but you have to look around carefully, though. It isn't easy to find stuff. I like the pants here mostly but I can hardly ever find my size for whatever reason.
Overall, it's a good place to shop...a good alternative to more expensive clothing stores.

I love going to discount stores to get the good stuff at cheap prices. At DD's, you get the cheap stuff for cheaper prices. Not my scene, but it definitely is cheap.
Looking for great prices on baby clothes? You got it - four stars for cheap baby clothes goodness that you don't need to worry about getting stained.
Ever had a hankering to go back to the K-mart your mom would take you for clothes when you were a kid? Well, here you go.
Let's look at the checklist:
Rows and rows of racks that make that screeching sound when you move one of the hangers - check!
Glaring lighting - check!
Long lines at check out - check!
Things strewn all over - check!
Open packages with stuff stolen out of them - check!
Blaring 70s brass music - nope. You can't have everything, I guess...
Plan carefully since everything is from at least last season and may be too warm or not warm enough for your baby to wear currently. Also, check to make sure that everything is in the packages and you'll do fine.
Not so sure about buying adult clothes here - they really didn't impress me that much.
The shady looking neighborhood comments amuse me since I used to live not too far away from here (and now live in a much shadier looking neighborhood in San Jose). Where do these folks live - Santana Row? Atherton?
Oh my gosh, I think I found heaven!!! I absolutely LOVE this place and I am so happy I accidently bumped into it!! The prices are by far very reasonable and much much better than ROSS, TJ MAX, or any of those other stores!! This store is actually clean and the staff is extremely helpful and nice!! I am so in love and need to go back there to shop!!!! Forget the overcrowded mall, I now have my fav store :)

9/2/07 update
The bra and panty section is a mess, sizing is minimal and items barelyon hangers, many on the floor. The clothing sections are pretty well marked and sized and tidy.
Fitting room limit are 5 items.
The housewares area is decent sized and they have a small electronics accessory area.
There are security walking around and very blantant.
Clearance tops, around $5, and found a cute regular top for $10.
-----------------------
So, they finally have one near me in the South Bay, the nearest I found was in the East Bay and my first one was in Sacramento. They just opened in March, so shop now, it is still neat and clean, the other stores are a mess.
This is a division of Ross Dress for Less, marketing to the $30-40K income crowd of shoppers. The clothes are cheap...in more ways then one! Women's tops from $5-$20, don't expect them to be the latest fashion or made to last but a great place to get bargains on some clothes you will wear for a season and then give to the Goodwill.
Next to the Longs Drugs and across the street from the In N Out Burger.

This place is junk! I'd rather get clothes at goodwill or the flea market where at least you can find some decent quality. The best brand here is Baby Phat and looks like hooker wear. Big Lots is much better!!!!!!

I love it here, everyone and their momma must shop here, but i don't care. my family needs clothes and they have them all for us at the right prices. they got decent/cute styles if you are able to get there when shipments arrive, or are able to find where people are hiding the clothes at to purchase later lol. it makes me feel good to know even though i'm using my money to pay off bills and stay afloat and be able to save money, i can still feel like i'm rich buying clothes more often then not.

Yeah, it's freakin' dirt cheap here, and you can find some OK quality things if you search. Maybe it's gotten better? I went the first few days it opened, and if felt like I was in the ghetto, rather than Sunnyvale.

I can't believe there was once an Alberson's here! It is a clean, well-lit discount store. I went in there on a mission to buy baby clothes, and I found many cute little oufits for less than $10, and most were about $5.99. I briefly looked at the men's clothing and didn't see one thing I'd buy any of the men in my life, and some of the ladies clothes were cute, but like other yelpers have said, not in style. All employees were cheerful and willing to help when I went in. Would only go there again for the childrens clothes.
These stores are just one large indoor flea market inside of all the former albertsons they purchased, you can find good things, not just in the morning, but in the afternoon or at night, such as with the southwest expressway store, it may be small, but it does have good things, when you actually go in and look. downside it is a shady looking neighborhood.
If you don't like this DD's go to the one off of Saratoga Avenue in Cupertino or Campbell - I know you take 85 all the way to Saratoga Avenue. Make a left off the turn off and keep going straight. It's kind of hidden but it will be on your right hand side. Also in this area you will find a really nice Big Lots (off of Campbell Avenue) also in the same area as Big Lots you will find a nice Dollar Tree and a decent Goodwilll across the street behind the bank. Just in this one vacinity you can hit up all 4 stores. They are clean and nice. Oh - and also there's another really really really nice DD's off of 880 and Misson Blvd in fremont. Now this is what I call a double whammy! Go down Mission Blvd as if you were going to Stockton but before you get to the other freeway - DDs and Ross will be on your left hand side. Yes both stores are side by side. Across the street from the Safeway. I couldn't believe it. I came back late from fishing in Stockton and drove back over here to shop. I was in heaven. Plus you can get a Jamba Juice because they're in the same plaza. You will not be dissapointed folks.
If you would like to know all the DD's location on this side of the bay - let me know. PS - I have this DD's a 3 star because they have good things but like someone said - you have to dig or be smart and get there when they first open.

Hella good stuff for cheap. I'm a student and people know that when your first starting out, you don't have much money. So i give this place 4 stars. Because even though they had some cute stuff for cheap, some of the colors looks like you got it out of your grandma's closet. I saw some shirts that were like mustard yellow. I thought that was kinda gross looking. But i love that they have a good plus size selection, cuz most places have shitty closes for fat ppl. And seriously just cuz your fat doesn't mean you wanna look like shit.
