We came here the other night. We stopped by before going to The Dandy Warhols show at The Glass House.  I have been wanting to stop here for some time now before catching a show at the Glass House but we always manage to end up at another bar.  The wine menu was limited. I went with the Grenache "Bitch" wine. The bf had a beer.. The owner is friendly as is the rest of the staff. The crowd was mixed and I like that.  40 something year old ladies tipsy on their sweet way to being drunk. Trying to engaged you into some boring chat. How do you ditch that one?

The ambiance is definitely chill. Darkly lighted with music in the back ground. Tons of seating. I like it... I would return if in the area again. .

Cute downtown place with friendly staff. Nice selection of wine at reasonable prices. They even had Ice Wine for $9 a glass, I think.

I want to shave half a star for the extra thick pint-glass-lookin-but-only-twelve-ounce glasses for draft beer, but Pomona really needs places this cool overall so I shan't be petty about it.

I much commend the support of locally brewed beer with taps from Dale Brothers in service.  I also support the keg of Arrogant Bastard that should be pouring about now.

The bottled beer selection is decent, allowing for exploratory sampling by potential beer geeks.

The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasing; it is cool and clean inside and good music streams from various iPods.

The wine selection always offers several choices in red and white, and a few sparkling/roses, and tasting flights are arranged at certain times.  Cheese and charcuterie plates are available for to munch on.  There is a stage for live music, and art upon the walls.

Thanks for "doing business as" you do, 256.  Ha ha!  Get it?

Ahhh, a perfect score in my book. So let's start.

The decor is trendy but not overly so, creating something pleasantly relaxing and vibrant. The ambiance is great as well, from the live music to the friendly (from my experience) crowd to the extremely friendly bartender.

Not being a wine person myself, the bartender (whose name escapes my mind) spots my lack of confidence and offers something that everyone could enjoy; and that I did. They also have art exhibitions and wine events, which are perfect when you find yourself bored on a weekday.

My greatest motivation for the 5-star rating is, of course, their Pomona Queen. Along with a solid collection of other beers, its impossible for any beer lover to leave sober. Reasonable prices that even a college student could afford.

This is a great place to have a drink before seeing a show at the new FOX theater or the Glass House. They carry an amazing selection of beers including some local brews and they have a nice wine list. Service was good too. I would definitely return next time I'm in Pomona.

This place is way chill. They frequently have DJs or acoustic performances. It's not too crowded. You don't have to wait long for a drink and it's a friendly atmosphere. It's a good place to chill with a group of friends and check out the art they have displayed throughout the bar. The don't have hard alcohol, but the beer on tap is excellent. Pomona queen is good and only $4 or $5 a pint. They have some good dark beers too.

Amex add--yessir!

Awesome little wine bar and gallery. My fella and I came here the other night just out of chance. We were walking back from dinner at a local restaurant and saw signs advertising wine and beer tasting. We had meant to try this place before but just couldn't find it. Well, the stars that night were guiding our way.

As soon as we walked in, we saw people lounging on couches, sitting at the bar, and perusing the gallery area.

The building is old with brick walls and that warehouse-esque high ceiling. So sound carries well. On this night we also got to experience a local artist on display. He was a bluesman playing guitar and singing his tunes.

We got to chat with the people at the bar while sipping our shiraz/syrah tastes. The owner of the winebar was somewhat knowledgeable but not what me and my fella are used to at another wine shop we like to frequent (that wineshop owner really knows his stuff and will give you a whole history of the region/label/vintage).

But, this place is now on our radar and I'm sure we'll come here a little more often now. In addition to the glasses of wine you can order bottled beer and beer on tap.

It's a wine bar with no possibility of actually purchasing wine to take home. So that part is a bummer because if you really like one of the wines you need to take notes for later purchase.

It reminds me of a local hangout. Dba256 is a great place to come and sip wine (or eat an imported cheese plate) with friends before heading out to dinner or as an after dinner place to chat. Either way, it's a good place to hang out with friends.

The dba256 Wine Bar has been a staple in Pomona since the opening in October 2007. It's a fun place to be with great selections for beers: a local favorite always flowing from the tap is Pomona Queen, and the most recent Dude of York. Im not much of a wine drinker, but the Writers Block (i forget all other specifics) was very good.

Industrial atmosphere with the brick walls and concrete floors offset by ambient lighting that makes everyone look quite sexy. Past hlliday season, lots of parties and New Years Eve was a blast. Wonderful art with lost of hustle and bustle on art walk (every 2nd & last saturday) nights.

Don't be turned off by the reported amount of Converse wearers: not one shoe is discriminated against. Not even flip flops.

All in all, hospitable place to come, kick off your Chucks and relax on the nice leather couch while reading the newest issue of the Inland Empire Weekly.

Only negative: locks on the bathroom doors don't work 100% of the time. Make your poops quick.

this was the only bar that we found open on a Sunday evening in Pomona.  It was a really cute looking place.  We were two of about a dozen people there, so there was plenty of room, seats, and couches.

I'm not a beer or wine fan (d'oh!), which is basically all they have.  I didn't see taps, just bottles in their refrigerator.  But maybe I missed it.  Luckily for me, they had soju, so I had a KuMonster ($7), and my friend had Soju and Sprite ($6).

observation: every single person sitting at the bar was wearing Chucks.  I was on the leather couch and not wearing Chucks (Diesels, if you must know).  Though, I went with my friend named Chuck, if that counts...

Had to take a break from visiting the family who lives in Walnut, so gf and I ventured to the Arts Colony in Pomona. I usually make it a point to come here when in town to see what has changed, and change in this area can be frequent. This place was one of those changes and a pleasant one at that.

It was a blisteringly hot Saturday afternoon in SGV and this place offered air conditioning and a nice atmosphere. Was definitely a beer afternoon and ordered a Dale Bros. California Black and my gf had the Pacific Daylight. The cold beer was exactly what the Dr. ordered!

I think I'll have to stop by here again when I'm in town.

Came to this place last night for New Year's Eve; a friend's sister runs it.  Very cool space, good wine, and awesome atmosphere.

We came for a holiday party, so I can't vouch for it on an average day, but on New Year's they had a great dj spinnin some mellow but peppy tunes.  It wasn't overly crowded, and people had a fun time.

I know nothing about art, so I can't speak to that side of it, but some of the pieces in here are really cool.  I wish we lived closer so I could easily go again.

Stopped in for a beer during Artwalk in July, I was showing some artwork nearby at Bunny Gunner Gallery.  They were serving Dale Bros. Brewery beer, tried all of them and my favorite was the Dude of York.  A nice place to down a pint.

We checked out the Pomona second Saturday art walk, which drew a crowd of hipsters (think men in converse sneakers and tee shirts over long sleeved shirts; women in tattoos and vintage dresses). We ended our evening here. The wine bar and art gallery didn't have a very big selection of wines or beers, but in the end, how many do you need?  Exposed wooden rafters, brushed concrete, black leather couch decor -- cool!
